Hello everyone, I was following a privacy guide and i changed the cookies settings in about:config . I set the value of network.cookie.cookieBehavior to 4, which according to this article means that total cookies protection is disabled. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/total-cookie-protection-and-website-breakage-faq

My questions are the following:

1- How do i enable total cookies protection after what i changed  ?

2-Which is better from a privacy point of view setting network.cookie.cookieBehavior to 4 or enabling total cookies protection?

Thank you all for taking the time to read my subject/questions .

I’m trying to get to www.indeed.com using Firefox. When I get to the website it says, “checking if the site connection is secure, www.indeed.com needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding.” I used inspect to help find the cause of the issue. It says “some cookies are misusing the recommended samesite attribute” the cookie “cf_chl_2” came up 5 times saying “ cf_chl_2” does not have a proper “samesite” attribute value. Soon, cookies without the “samesite” attribute or with an invalid value will be treated as “lax” this means that the cookie will no longer be sent in third-party contexts. If your application depends on this cookie being available in such contexts, please add the “samesite=none” attribute to it. To know more about the “samesite” attribute, read https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Web/HTTP/Headers/Set-Cookie/SameSite

Another cookie is “cf_chl_rc_m”

I don’t want to make these cookies secure if they could potentially cause my computer harm or steal my info. I tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it but it still kept all of my favorites so I’m assuming it didn’t reset and fix Firefox like I had hoped. I don’t have a firefox account on my computer so I’m not sure how favorites came back. Do you know why?

I am using a MacBook Pro M2 chip 2022 and the latest version of firefox. I have also updated my computer. I have run Norton and found no threats on my computer. And firefox wasn’t giving me this issue before.

What do you think I should do?

Thank you in advance for helping.

I'm developing an app on localhost. I make an HTTP query which returns the cookie "MyCookie" to be set to "1". When I look into "Network" tab, it all looks as expected. Cookie is received, set and then sent with another call. However it is not displayed in Storage Inspector. Even the "Manage data" panel shows that there are some cookies for the localhost. Why is "MyCookie" not displayed in the Storage Inspector? When I deployed my app it was properly displayed there.

I seem to have issues with some websites not opening & I think it's because Firefox is blocking cookies as on these sites Firefox doesn't even offer to accpet cookies so what do I do. Ive looked at how to turn off cookies but the instructions don't make sense & then even whan I fiddle with some settings it makes no difference. An error occurred during a connection to www.newyorker.com. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

It looks like firefox is set up to accept cookies. Where do we need to make the change?

Well, I'm trying to make use of the option to delete cookies without deleting some that I allow, but apparently it's buggy. I want Firefox to clear cookies every time I close the browser, however, I manually added some exceptions and even then the browser deletes these exceptions when I close it, if I can add exceptions, it's so they won't be deleted when closing.

Hi Mozilla community,

The Developer Tools -> Storage -> Cookies pane shows cookies currently being stored by Firefox.

If I close my browser, these cookies are automatically deleted. However, if I follow the steps on [1], the cookies are still there, and don't get deleted. *Why?*

Thanks in advance!

Steps to reproduce:

- Start a new Firefox session
- Open Developer Tools -> Storage -> Cookies and see that the list is empty
- Go to youtube.com and click Accept All on the cookies popup
- Developer Tools -> Storage -> Cookies now shows a cookie from YouTube, as per the attached screenshot
- Go to Settings->Privacy & Security->Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Clear
- Go back to Developer Tools -> Storage -> Cookies and click on the refresh icon
- The YouTube cookie is still there
- However either of the following actions will correctly delete this cookie:

1) closing firefox (with Always Use Private Browsing Mode enabled) 2) manually deleting the cookie from the list in Developer Tools -> Storage -> Cookies

Skysports.com always asks me to select cookie options. Allow or View options and reject. I always choose the second one. The problem is. I can never choose the options. Opera browser, a better browser than this one, shows the options and allows me to choose. Sky just shows the same box every single page and I have to go through the same sequence every time.

It appears with the latest update, 104.0, my customers are no longer able to log into their accounts with my web site. The console is showing the following warning:

Cookie "JSESSIONID" with the "SameSite" attribute value "Lax" or "Strict" was ommited because of a cross-site redirect.

So the JSESSION ID cookie is being omitted, which is preventing the login process from working correctly.

Going into settings => Privacy and Security and unchecking cookies from the Custom setup still doesn't fix the issue.

The behavior seems to be inconsistent as the same version of Firefox works fine for me on one machine, but generates this warning another, even with the same settings.

Can you explain in more detail why this is happening and steps to fix it?

Thank you, M. Warble
