Previously I could change the color of ONLY visited links. 138 broke that ability and replaced it with a contrast setting that changes every kind of link color and the page background color/design too. This totally stinks and makes the visited web pages look terrible and hard to read too.

Is there a way to set FF so that ONLY visited link colors can be changed to the preferred one?

Hello, I am having and issue where my bookmarks toolbar keeps disappearing. I have the settings to have it "always show", but it is not there. I have to right click on the toolbar and select one of the other options then go back and select always show and then it reappears. What can I do to fix this? Thanks!

Hello, when many tabs are open, the mute button takes up almost the entire tab. When I go to a tab, I get to the mute button... https://assets-prod.sumo.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net/media/uploads/images/2025-03-01-03-07-42-491a45.png Is it possible to remove this function on the tab, but leave the sound icon itself? So that when I click on the sound icon, the tab is switched to instead of mute?

I have not changed any settings related to fonts in firefox (running on windows 10 desktop), but I have this issue where flag emojis are displayed as a letter code on the page itself, but still display correctly in the tab at the top. is there a known fix for this?

I now have a visible sidebar, after installing the latest update. The 'help' section says to click on the 'settings' icon in the sidebar. I have no buttons, at all, in the sidebar. It is blank white. How do I remove this thing?

I mean, the tabs size are already bothersome that if you have multiple tabs open it's annoying you can't read the title of the page on that tab. So, you change it manually to size 200 instead of fabricated install as 76.

Who makes sure to change these to different size?

Now, on the latest version, it shrinks on multiple tabs.

WHO IS AUTHORIZING THE RELEASES? I MEAN, DO YOU INTENSIONALLY MAKE ERRORS AND RELEASE THEM?

Please tell me whether I need to a)uninstall/reinstall Firefox OR if there is a setting somewhere that I need to use to correct this problem. I usually use Arial variations and need at least 14 for font size. My settings are always the same. My machine is a Lenovo ThinkPad and the OS is Windows 11. I have four bars at the top of the screen, File/Edit, below that tabs, below that the search bar, and below that bookmarks. Before yesterday everything was the correct size for my vision. According to Mozilla and all other online instructions for changing Firefox wallpaper, one must click on the Settings icon (pinwheel) in the upper right corner of a new tab. There is no such icon anywhere on the new tab screen. There is no wallpaper to select under the Settings menu (three dashes) in the top right hand corner. I have the latest version of Firefox. What version are these instructions for? And how does one change the Firefox wallpaper? Firefox is my default browser in Ubuntu 2204 LTS.

I recently set a custom background image for the Firefox new tab page (and possibly the homepage), but now I’d like to remove or replace it.

I’ve already tried:

   Going to about:config and enabling the following:

       browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabWallpapers.customWallpaper.enabled → true

       browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabWallpapers.ui.enabled → true

   Searching for a gear icon or any UI options on the new tab or homepage – but nothing appears.

I also checked about:preferences#home but there are no visible options to manage background images.

How can I remove or change the custom background image? I’d appreciate instructions, config paths, or a file location where I can delete the image manually.

Just recently, the Bookmarks sidebar quit appearing automatically when I opened Firefox. In each new window, it can be selected manually.

I posted this thread under "Privacy and Security" because other threads on the Internet (some quite old) say this issue can be fixed by changing the Browsing history settings. I tried that, but got a strange result: the Bookmarks sidebar did appear automatically, but the webpage I was on would not display any images embedded in the page. And then I wondered: why must I eliminate Browsing History just to automatically display my bookmarks?

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

i just got a new laptop and have setup my taskbar at the bottom and most frequently used bookmarks at the top. I used to also have a sidebar where i had my entire bookmarks menu but cant figure out how to do that. any ideas?

Recently my Browser was updated and a fairly broad sidebar apperared from nowhere

As an experienced user with Firefox i have always been happy with it - it is just the Browser

WHY DO YOU KEEP ADDING STUFF LIKE SIDEBAR? It is fairly broad with a settings flag at the bottom. I already knew where settings were in menu. Why do i need this broad panel having the effect of decreasing possible width to expand a page if needed.

To me, this is just playing about, copying other browsers that are garbage that's why we use Firefox isn't it. If you try find out how to turn off it becomes a ridiculous unnecessary exercise. If you want to add stuff like this it should be configurable like everything else and not just appear.

It is so irritating i absolutely hate stuff like this, people playing about not improving it. Making it worse. Why are half the users trying to do what i am? - get rid of it.

I have gone through themes and it was no use at all. I could not even see the sidebar to select it to turn it off? No doubt for some other ludicrously complex reason? I just want a simple page to read the internet. Please help!!!!!

How do I make the scroll bar always visible? The fact that you have to hover over it before it shows itself is maddening! Makes scrolling so much more difficult and frustrating. If this can't be adjusted I am done with mozilla after many many years of using it.

Where did the little + sign go on the right side of currently open tabs? I went to preferences and customize in the settings and it does not appear to be there. HELP! This is driving me crazy.
