My previous version of Firefox was on the fritz and I was afraid there was malware in it so I uninstalled it. When I reinstalled it I realized all my bookmarks were missing and I can't figure out how to restore them from my profile or a previous backup. Please help! Thank you.

I run Firefox 115.0.3 on Windows 10, desktop. The main menu in Firefox has a "recent bookmark" listed and I would like to remove it from the menu. I thought it would be a simple matter of going into bookmark menu settings or the settings from the main menu, but it is not. When I was unable to resolve it, I did an internet search and was unable to find a straight forward answer. As one fix suggested, I tried turning off "history" to no avail. I've attached an image which shows "recent bookmarks" in the main menu of Firefox browser. I don't feel it is necessary to have recent bookmarks in the main menu when it is easily access from the bookmark icon. Perhaps I've overlooked an option in settings. Can someone please help resolve the issue.

This happened after I used "Manage Bookmarks" to "Restore" a previous session

After I noticed that the Toolbar Menu was gone, I tried "Restore" from and EARLIER session, to see if that would bring it back. It didn't

I also tried "Import Bookmarks" (from previously "Exported" HTML) Still no Toolbar Menu.

This is the SECOND problem I've had (in almost-20 years of using Firefox) after installing a new version: this time, 116.0.2

My Toolbar Menu contained years of folders and bookmarks; any of which I don' still have the information to replace them with -- or the Ease-of-Use that menu provided!

I have cleared cookies and cache.

I have reloaded bookmark above.

Outlook works in other browsers.

I AM SCREAMING RIGHT NOW. Apologies. Countless bookmarks I've saved over years, including important articles, University work and bookmarks relating to my job have all disappeared. Firefox told me to install their latest update, and now my bookmarks are gone WHAT THE FRICK CAN I DO??? Obviously I'm incredibly thick, but I'm pretty sure that Firefox is the problem here. PLEASE HELP Thankyou

I guess I don't know how to frame the problem.

I want to access a bookmark but it appears that the box on the left of the screen is full, or at least at the limit the box can display.

So far posing a question to help is futile.

All I want to do is be able to access all of my bookmarks.

I have a PC desktop and laptop. Bookmarks have always been synced in the past. I have just been away for 6 weeks and added and changed many bookmarks on the laptop. I confess I do have a lot built up over the years. When I came back home I expected to sync as in the past without problem to the desktop. However sync wouldn't happen although both were ON and on same wi-fi. So I restored into the desktop a json file I had made on the laptop just before coming home. I also have a json file made on the desktop just before leaving.

Disaster. While all the bookmarks may be there on the desktop (I don't know) all the folders are now empty and all bookmarks are simply in one huge unusable list in the bookmarks menu. Same result with the desktop json file. It would take days to put them all back into folders one by one. Having tried various things now my laptop is the same !

Why did this happen ? How do I get the bookmarks back into all the folders ?

I use Firefox at work on 2 different computers. Firefox sync is unfortunately disabled and not an option.

Is there any way I can sync my bookmarks / profile between the 2 machines?

I do have access to Dropbox. Is it possible to use that to somehow sync the bookmarks between the 2 machines? Doesn't have to be in real time.

Right now I am manually exporting bookmarks and re-importing every time I switch computers.

I have uninstalled firefox about 4 times and tried everything I was told. I like firefox but not the hundred bookmarks.Will lose a good browser but bookmarks do have to go. this is my last try

My wsj.com suscription loads the main, then briefly shows some of the content before dissapearing with this one line Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information). Using an older Mac that can not be updated to the latest IOS and wsj support said that Apple made changes so I can't load the contents..... any suggestions or solutions? thank you

I have two accounts on firefox and I use two different firefox apps so I don't have any problem's with my bookmarks merging I just recently I got a new phone and download the two Firefox apps firefox beta and the regular Firefox app and signed into my account separately on each app but now the bookmarks are merging which never happened before is there a way to fix this so my bookmarks stop merging

Occasionally I select a bookmark in my menu bar that has become orphaned. Once on the page, I select the "Blue Star" and then try to remove the bookmark for that page to no avail. The bookmark remains even after shutting down and restarting Firefox (sync is off). Moreover, there are some bookmarks for which the "Remove Bookmark" option is not available after selecting the Blue Star.

I know that I can delete unwanted bookmarks using the Bookmark Manager but that method is time consuming when it comes to unknown, orphaned bookmarks that one stumbles upon from time to time. The aforementioned technique for removing these orphaned bookmarks is quicker assuming it worked.

Perhaps the Blue Star could remain filled in once a page is saved and subsequently returned too. Should one wish to remove the bookmark one need only return to the page and deselect the filled in Blue Star thus returning it to its outlined form while also removing the bookmark from ones menu.

My bookmarks are greyed out and are not working. This happened this morning and i don't know what is causing this problem. We restarted the computer and now some of the links (when you click) just bring you to firefox login. They don't go to the bookmark site.

Hello, Having a little difficulty with which I am hoping someone might assist. My primary PC has died on me, and I am making attempt at transferring my life over to another for temporary use. I have installed Firefox as it was my primary browser on this now-dead PC and logged in to my Firefox account; however the bookmarks in this browser are very old. How might I go about accessing the latest version of all my bookmarks, that were on the now-dead PC (or are they only backed up very infrequently)? Any information is appreciated! Thank you
