In Firefox, one can drag'n'drop a tab to the bookmarks toolbar to create a bookmark. During the drag, If one hovers the pointer over a folder in the bookmarks toolbar, the folder is supposed to open so you can put the newly created bookmark inside the folder.

This behavior has been failing a lot for me lately: the folder doesn't open, so dropping the tab doesn't create a bookmark. - The behavior is erratic: right now it works for some tabs and fails for others; - Drag'n'drop to the bookmarks toolbar outside a folder still works; - Drag'n'drop to the bookmarks sidebar, inside a folder or not, still works.

NB: I'm pretty sure it's a bug, but I never created a Mozilla Bugzilla issue before so I decided to see what happens here first.

I have a question about the same topic of this older thread here -

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1257189

...when you do some of the solutions to this problem the copy-and-paste from either the vertical column or in Bookmarks manager it will copy the whole URL code as the title of the link and not what you renamed that link or its default name from its creator.

Is there a way to copy-and-paste the bookmarks WITH the already-created link names attached from the previous Firefox / Waterfox browser?

I like when I open a bookmark, that I am not forced to view it right away. This can be VERY annoying when opening multiple bookmarks but I want to stay on my current one without having to switch back to the one I was using. I would like an option added at least to have bookmarks in that automatically switch to when opening. Please.

I tried to connect to a site I previously bookmarked and have connected to many times. When I tried yesterday it couldn't connect. A message on my screen said that it might be because Firefox was blocking cookies. I checked and it isn't. When I type the address manually into the address bar it connects without a problem. I deleted the old bookmark and set up a new one after I connected. When I navigate away from the page, I still can't connect with the new bookmark.

Hi, I've had Firefox 64 bit running on Windows for a while and recently was given a newer machine where I installed a newer version of the OS. I put the old HDD's as slaves in this new machine. So the old FF is in the slave machine.

I have also installed new Firefox on this new Win10 LTSC, but when I go looking in my now slave HDD I can see FF, but cannot see any bookmarks. Additionally, when I run the FF executable in the old HDD it still runs the new FF, without the old bookmarks.

So how can I extract the old bookmarks on the older FF? Without withdrawing the now slave HDD and making it a master again? As it's now missing most of the OS files too.

Thank you!

I have lost all my Bookmarks - they have the same name, but the icon & address is wrong.

  • This is on-going = I cannot Bookmark without it occuring.
  • I have attempted to restore to a previous point, but the issue did not resolve.
  • This occurs over all my synced devices. (I have now stopped Firefox syncing.)
  • The incorrect icon & address is from a 'trusted' site (ie. national govt, email provider etc) that I have previously visited, but never Bookmarked.

Please help as I use Bookmarks professionally & have built an excellent database over many years.

- thank you -

Please don't go technical on me. I read exactly how to bookmark a website. I understand how to create folders. What I'm lost about is how do I create a folder in my toolbar, and not see the website in the menu? I have tried to put a saved site in a toolbar folder, then delete it from the drop-down menu, but once it is deleted the toolbar folder is empty. The folder I created still exist though.

Then I tried to create a folder and put it in the Toolbar. In the drop down menu I left specific websites.

When I closed the browser everything was gone from the folders and the drop down menu.

All I need it to create folders in the Toolbar area. Leave "non-duplicated" sites in the drop down menu. I just don't need to loose everything again, I spent hours doing this, I'm thankful I was able to do a recovery, except it was the last date I used days ago.

Again, this is what I need, not how yours is.

Thanks

When I add a new bookmarks I can see them in "Recent labels", but not in "Other bookmarks" (the last one in that folder is of the 20th of February 2022), so I can see only my last 10 saved bookmarks from the 02/20/2022 since now. The bookmarks are surely saved, because if I try to delete one fromt the "Recent labels" another one less recent appears, but only in the "Recent labels" folder and not in the "Other bookmarks". So, what I have to do to see my saved bookmarks not present in the "Other bookmarks" folder, but not so recent to be visible in the "Recent labels"? Thank you!

I have followed these instructions for deleting all bookmarks at once but Firefox isn't responding to these commands so I have to delete each bookmark individually. To delete a lot of bookmarks at once, use the Library dialog. Either: * Ctrl+Shift+b * Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks In the left panel, click Bookmarks Menu. In the right panel, click the top item you want to remove, then press Shift+End to select all the way to the bottom, then right-click > Delete.

The present configuration of Bookmarks:

Both "areas" of Bookmarks are linked, deleting from one will update the other. Neither are isolated personal storage areas for selected bookmarks of the user's choosing. You can't keep/delete one bookmark in one area (Bookmarks toolbar and/or hamburger icon > Bookmarks) without the action being correspondingly reflected in the other area.

Now previously I could go to the hamburger Bookmarks, create and delete without my tool bar Bookmarks being effected. Any chance of this happening again please?

My workflow in Firefox involves 100's of open tabs pertaining to work, personal etc. I regularly bookmark all the abs using the 'bookmark all tabs' feature in the Bookmarks drowdown (or the equivalent 'select all tabs' -> 'bookmark all tabs' by rightclicking on a tab) which offers the option of saving the tabs in a new folder name I specify. As of the last couple of weeks, the option to enter a folder name no longer exists. I've attached a screenshot of the current pop-up when I choose 'bookmark all tabs'.

Perhaps related: this may have started occuring after I upgraded to the latest version (v. 101.0 on MacOs 12.4 on Macbook Pro) or the timing may be a coincidence.

Saving the 100s of bookmarks every week is an essential part of workflow; I've been doiong it for years, and I really need to have this ability back. Please help me debug this.

Thanks!

I would like to transfer my bookmarks (and my open tabs) from my Windows 10 laptop to a new Windows 11 laptop. I've looked at the questions and answers people have posted but its a complete mystery to me. I had thought that when I loaded Firefox onto the new PC and signed in, everything would automatically appear. I was successful in doing that with Chrome but Firefox is still my primary browser and I've had no luck. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hail all:

Now, Firefox has a very, VERY simple Bookmark Manager, that basically only allows to add, remove, and single-bookmark edit.

Now, I have for instance 6+K Youtube Links, which all, annoyingly, end with " - YouTube". I want to remove that idiocy, but to edit 6+K bookmarks, one by one?

Can you add a way to mass-edit bookmarks?

Also, can you add a "Explorer Tree Style" Bookmark manager, that shows all bookmarks in true Explorer style (As in:

All Bookmarks
--- Bookmarks Toolbar
--------- Folder 1
-------------Bookmark 1
-------------Bookmark 2
-------------Bookmark 3
------------- ...
-------- Folder 2
-------------Bookmark 1
-------------Bookmark 2
------------- ...
--- Bookmarks Menu
--------- Folder 1
-------------Bookmark 1
-------------Bookmark 2
-------------Bookmark 3
------------- ...
-------- Folder 2
------------ SubFolder 1
-----------------Bookmark 1
-----------------Bookmark 2
----------------- ...
------------ SubFolder 2
-----------------Bookmark 1
-----------------Bookmark 2
----------------- ...
-------------Bookmark 1
-------------Bookmark 2
------------- ...
--- Other Bookmarks
--------- Folder 1
-------------Bookmark 1
-------------Bookmark 2
-------------Bookmark 3
------------- ...
-------- Folder 2
-------------Bookmark 1
-------------Bookmark 2
------------- ...

(without the "-" 's of course, this was my way to represent the folder and "bookmark file" system in tree form), with an option to see doubles in their respective folder/subfolder, with the normal editing functions? Since ... that would ultimately be darn helpful? Especially when implemented DIRECTLY into Firefox, so no additional tools are needed (add-ons) since these never have what I actually need.

I have a 700+ Bookmarks backup file, which says all. Far too many bookmarks to sift through, manually, without decent tools, thus the need to do it "one at a time".

Thank you very much.

Xog.
