In Firefox, When H264 frames are decoded and rendered within a single tab, the output reaches up to 180 fps, performing well and meeting expectations. When decoding and rendering occur on two separate tabs on parallel, performance significantly drops, impacting both processes. However, it performs smoothly when running on a single tab.

In comparison to the Brave browser, H264 decoding and rendering are noticeably slower in Firefox. Firefox manages only around 180 fps, while Brave and other Chromium-based browsers can achieve approximately 1000 fps on a single tab and around 800 fps when multiple tabs are open.

Firefox is no longer playing audio from the Internet. I am running Firefox on Windows 11, and have the latest update installed (10/29/25). What happened? How do I fix this.

I am 99.5% sure this is a Firefox issue, as I have no problem playing audio files stored in my computer, and no problem playing Internet audio using Chrome or Edge.

I'm experiencing random (every few days) audio issues on 140.4.0esr on Debian trixie. Sound would randomly disapear. Firefox doesn't show on pavucontrol. Restaring pipewire doesn't help. To resolve I have to wipe FF profile and start from new profile. It is very annoying. What could be causing this problem?

Thank you.

Have checked firefox app audio settings and all good - even can see audio bar moving - but no sound and it is not muted. Using windows 11 pro and firefox version 144 and my autoplay is set "allow audio & video" as default for all. Any help appreciated - thanks.

Hi Firefox team, I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox due to a recurring issue I noticed on my HP Omnibook laptop (productivity-focused, iGPU,). While watching YouTube videos in Chrome or Edge, I occasionally see a brief (0.1 second) black-and-white glitch near the top of the screen — but only when the video quality changes (e.g., auto-switching or manual resolution change). It never happens during regular browsing or local video playback. I’m testing Firefox now and wondering: - Does Firefox handle video stream transitions differently than Chromium-based browsers? - Is hardware acceleration in Firefox less prone to triggering such micro-glitches? - Any recommended settings or flags to optimize video playback stability in Firefox? - I was hoping to see an option to turn of AV1 video codec (if possible) I’m not gaming or doing heavy rendering — just casual productivity and media use. And I have switched on the default performance settings from my firefox browser setting. Would love to know if Firefox is better suited for this kind of smooth, glitch-free experience. Thanks in advance!

I am getting sick and tired of ytube video 153 error messages on the latest releases of Firefox when trying to access a ytube video. I use Firefox on Linux (Ubuntu and Mint) with multiple profiles and it didn't used to be this way!!

Even clearing the profile cache and history has unpredictable effect. The web is full of questions to this very issue with no definitive fix. It appears Firefox is not clearing things out properly even though the profile settings are set to delete everything upon exit.

What is the fix?? (or is there one?) A very frustrated longtime user.

This happens with youtube, prime video, netflix etc. I have tested in Edge and this does not occur. I am using a bluetooth headset. I haven't been able to find anything about this online so open to any help.

Hello community,

Since the last update, I have been experiencing issues with streaming services, such as Disney+. Playback is no longer scaled correctly in full-screen mode.

During playback, the image is displayed much smaller with black borders at the top and bottom, as if Disney+ and Firefox are unable to communicate the format correctly.

I have already searched the web for this issue and have not found any articles with the same error description.

System: Win11 Pro, everything is up to date, WIN resolution: 3440 x 1440 (125% scaling)

Attached is a screenshot with the playback in full screen mode. I have framed what is displayed.

Trying to run Prime and Netflix in a Linux browser on my new Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14. Not that this is an ARM based unit (Kompanio Ultra 910).

I can successfully download Firefox for Linux: Mozilla Firefox Debian Package mozilla-deb-1.0 144.0 (aarch64)

But when I go to run streaming video services get: Prime Video is incompatible with your current operating system or web browser. You must update to watch Prime Video titles. Review the Prime Video system requirements. If the problem continues, please contact Amazon Customer Service and refer to error 7132.

Same with Netflix.

any ideas, thoughts, solutions?  :)

Cheers.

I am running Firefox 144.0 on kubuntu 24.04.3 LTS I have lost sound on Firefox. I have opened the same sites in Chrome and the sound is working fine. It's only in Firefox. I have tried several sites including Udemy, YouTube, and radio programs, no sound from Firefox. The problem started in the middle of a Jit.Si session. All of a sudden the sound disappeared. I thought that restart Firefox would help, then restart the computer would help. But the problem has continued. The speakers is turned on the volume is up, just not a sound from Firefox. What to do?

Following a reboot yesterday I could not get any audio output from any web page. I checked my output speakers using windows and found no problem. I opened Edge and had no problem. I can play video recordings from other external sources with no problem. This is something within Firefox. I have tried the various investigations from the help system and none of these worked.
