Suddenly I cannot search from the search bar. It defaults to the address bar. why "fix" something that was not broken. Being forced to use the address bar is frustrating. If you go directly to the address bar, it tells you it cannot find that site.

When opening a new window on firefox I see a "homepage" (No URL offered at the top of the page), offering some helpful, frequently used shortcut icons followed by a number of headings, i.e. : Popular Today, Connections, Featured Videos, etc., providing image/links to stories from various "news" or "interest" websites, which I can click on to view. Opening a number of these sites in order to view the advertised "story" require setting up a free, or paywall account/membership, etc.. How can I eliminate these undesirable/unwanted options from being "offered" or shown on my firefox homepage? Something may look interesting, but I'm not one to sign up, or pay to view these opportunities. I see where I can eliminate entire Categories, but what I'm trying to do is block, or eliminate the "offer to view" what I deem "unwanted offers to sign up to view this "story". Can this "Junk/Bait" be eliminated from my homepage on a site by site basis? As examples: CNN, Wired", "the cut", among others. Can the page be configured to eliminate the offering of "Non-Free", "Non-Membership", "Non-Signup" Sites? (Apologies for my lack of appropriate semantics, I'm just a user, not an Internet Expert, developer, or or software-savvy person.) As an aside, is there a way to contact a real live human person at Mozilla/Firefox to assist with issues like this, or answer related questions. All I seem to find are circular links to "Contact Mozilla", which bring me to unrelated FAQ databases, and user forums, etc., where I find I'm unable to get an answer to the question asked? The new feature Sports Widget is too generic does not even state what sports which game is it. Each individual will always have his/her preferred sports they follow so this needs a lot of improvements.

I would like to propose a change to this section of you browser:

settings/home/firefox home content/shortcuts - the option includes both sites I visit and sites I save.

Is there a way to chose only sites I save? I do not want my browsing history mixed in with the shortcuts I choose to save on my home screen. I have been using firefox on all of my computers and other devices for a long time. I recently had to delete all of my passwords from firefox password manager for a more secure application due to your changes in privacy policy. I need to resolve this setting as well, so that my shortcuts (those I have pinned to my home screen) are not interfered with by browsing history. It does not make sense why I have to choose either both or neither.

The weather widget is set the country I am from, however I would like to actually use a different location for the weather. Is it possible to do? I tried to type in the city I want it to be set to but it only shows cities from my country.

I'm sorry, maybe the problem was there in previous versions however I just noticed it. Or rather the absence of it. The problem is when I open a new tab where I had that mini weather report widget enabled (and I checked that the button in the settings is set to be enabled) the widget is not there anymore, nowhere to be seen.

I made two screenshots of my browser's new tab with no weather widget and one with the settings open to show that the weather widget on/off button is enabled. I'm sorry however that I had to blur things I thought it would be sensitive information.

My OS is Win11 Home Greek and my Firefox is in Greek as well.

Since new update the firefox logo is appearing on my home page and new tab pages, how do I remove it? I changed the setting to false and it still does not go away.

I have a situation - which I had previously researched and resolved - that has come back to haunt me.

I use an ultra-widescreen monitor and searching/browsing obviously necessitates a center-screen search box which, up until now, Firefox has provided cleanly and with simplicity. However, I see that (once again) despite cursor placement in the center-screen box the search text is being entered in the address bar which is wholly impractical for me since I have to look about 60 degrees left and upwards to see what I am typing.

I say "again" because when this happened previously I was able to make a config change and resolve it but despite that still being in effect - the ".handoffToAwesomebar" is still set to FALSE - search text now has moved back to the address bar.

A brief search of this community yielded no answers. Is there any other known fix or has this now be thrust upon us permanently and thou shalt adapt?

Previous solution: switch browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false does not work anymore.

I have change my home page to DuckDuckGo, but when I click on a new tab, "+" I get Firefox. I tried blank and it is indeed blank, so how do I set new tab so it opens DuckDuckGo? (Read all help articles.)

The browser is set up to display AccuWeather forecast based on location. Up to date it displayed forecast correctly. But today it displays Frankfurk-am-Main. When I try to change location, it only searches among german cities. Any help will be appreciated. Here are some screenshots that show listing german cities and no vpn and my exact location.

Guess I started out wrong , I have a new Win 11 computer with firefox installed , on my old Win 7 firefox machine a new tab always shows several news stories and recently visited sites . How do I get this new computer to also do the same ?

Either removing certain ones I don't care about or getting ones back I may have already taken out?

I don't see either of those functions any more but I swear there was a way to do it just a month ago.
