EVERY TIME Firefox updates or the computer shuts down, it loses my bookmarks. I have recently encountered reproducible failures when attempting to download files or save pages to local storage. The target directory is located on a mounted NTFS file system with the options umask=007, user=root, and group=disk. My Firefox browser is running under a non-root user account that is a member of the disk group. However, I consistently receive the error message: “XXX could not be saved because the source file could not be read.”
I would greatly appreciate anyone's assistance in resolving this issue.

On all three computers, I have "Always ask you where to save files." On all three computers, it never asks and always stores in Download.
On my work computer, Outlook's problem is that all hyperlinks open in browsers while we use Sharepoint links. I want the pdfs to open in Acrobat. I've changed the Applications section, just below Downloads, to use Acrobat for pdf files. I was hoping that would mean Outlook would tell Firefox, my default browser, to open the pdf, FF would see it's a pdf, and it would open Acrobat. That's not happening.
Any clues how to resolve either?

Recently, when I copy and paste an error message to the search box in Firefox and the first word contains a ':', such as when searching for this error message - "MESA-LOADER: failed to open dri: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gbm/dri_gbm.so: cannot open shared object file" - I get the "Open the mesa-loader link with System Handler?" prompt (see screenshot).
I used to be able to copy and paste such an error before into the search box and it would just work but now the browser defaults to thinking you are entering a URL. This could be because when I start typing in the search box, it immediately relocates what I'm typing to the address bar. Maybe this is the behaviour I need to disable? But how and why is it the default?

I am having the same problem as this fixed one, a year later: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1468647 As soon as I try to connect to an account via Google, or go to Gmail/Docs/Drive/Classroom, I'm always taken to a “Clear cache and delete cookies” page. So I followed the instructions on the page, deleted all my data and saved cookies from Firefox and even tried to reinstall Firefox completely, but nothing changed, I'm always redirected to this page. Logging in when in incognito mode works fine though.
