Just updated Firefox to v. 65.0, it will no longer ask to where I want file save to. As it use to. Note that this is what I set it to do in preference for in Files and Applications section. The files are being saved to the other option "Save files to" even though I've selected always ask. Please note that I did do a launch of Firefox after confirming changes, and even a reboot of Mac OS.

Thanks

One of my customers run an web application in Firefox and they want their users to just be able to use Firefox for that particular site. They run Firefox 42 today and we have managed to remove all the "bars" using the UserChrome.css folder. We have also applied some custom settings using the .cfg file. However, now they want to upgrade to Firefox 48 and I tried the same solution but it doesn´t work. For some reason UserChrome.css doesnt get copied to the profiles folder. If I manually copy it, it works.

In Firefox 42 the UserChrome.css is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\browser\defaults\profile\Chrome

Is there any changes done to the folder structure in Firefox 48? Do you have any suggestions how I can solve this?

The title is pretty much self explanatory. Whenever I reboot my computer (Ubuntu 16.04), firefox loses ALL of its data. Any persistent cookies are removed, any customizations I make to the title bar are removed, my extensions are gone, and I have to sign into sync again. It's like a completely fresh installation.

Thanks for your help!

I want Firefox to remember my history at websites so I don't have to keep entering my username and passwords. I go into the Menu, click on Options, then Privacy, then choose the option to have Firefox remember my history. After that it works fine. However, when I shut off my computer and then turn it on again later the settings that I chose (to remember history) haven't been saved and I have to go through that whole process of Options, Privacy, Remember My History all over again. How can I get Firefox to remember/save my settings so I don't have to do this each time I turn on my computer? Thanks for any help you can provide on this.

We are currently using Firefox ESR 38.2.0 with our RHEL 6.7 workstations and need to change the network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1 from the default of TRUE to FALSE.

We tried putting a .js file in /usr/lib64/firefox/defaults/preferences to change it, but the change is ignored.

When we try another setting in the file, such as perf("network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1-https", false), then the change is made, however, with the ntlm-v1 setting, it is ignored in the file.

We can change the user_perf for network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1 on a per user bases, but as an enterprise we would like to make this change for multiple users at once and not on a per profile.

Is there any way to do this, or is creating a script and placing it in /etc/profile.d the best option?

Thanks! Joe Giles

I changed my Home page and "When Firefox Starts:" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time". Now every time I start Firefox I am prompted that another application has changed my start page and I am given the options of either reverting to the original setting (the default) or keeping the new setting. When I choose to keep my setting, I am prompted a second time with the same options and default. When I choose again to keep my setting I can finally continue with it until have to restart Firefox. This is extremely frustrating and unless I can find a solution I am reluctantly going to switch to another browser. This problem is on my new laptop running Windows 10 and Firefox 46.0.1. I am also currently using Firefox on Windows XP desktop and an Ubuntu Linux laptop, neither of which has this problem. I am not certain of the Firefox version on either of these two systems

Please help me solve this problem. I have used Firefox for a long time and do not want to learn to use another browser.

I've been having a great deal of trouble with Firefox lately on my MS Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10. It began with my passwords not automatically filling in. I tick the check box and next time I start Firefox, it's unchecked. I tried all of the troubleshooting ideas I could find here and none of them worked. I tried refreshing. I tried safe mode. I even uninstalled Firefox and deleted the Mozilla folder in %appdata%. Reinstalling a fresh version of Firefox with no add-ons, no extensions and sync turned off still didn't fix the problem. To add to my woes, today I am unable to search from the Firefox start page. When I type a search term, the progress indicator just swirls away and nothing happens. The same goes if I type the search in the address bar or the search box in the new tab page. If I open up a Google page, the search works fine. There's obviously something on my system that is interfering with Firefox, but for the life of me, I don't know what it is. The only thing that comes to mind is my antivirus, Trend Micro, but disabling it didn't help. The issue with the passwords started a little over a week ago (at least, that's when I noticed it) and I only noticed the search problem today.

The latest version of FF 30 became so unpopular, at least, I really feel repugnant ! 1. the border among different tabs are not clear, even worse the unselcted tab titles are not easy to read as they are displayed not apparently as previous FF versions, such as FF28. In stead, the Mozilla website offered hundreds of colorful skins, weird buttons for us !!! Sorry, I really do not get it. I REALLY DO NO KNOW why you developers offer those useless skins for us !

2. The most favourite function of the status bar is lost, and could not appear again !!! My habit is using upper tool bar for the management of tabs, the status bar for the management of webpages. In stead, the Mozilla website only told us, based on the safety consideration, it is not safe to use status bar, it is for our users safe concern.

Let me tell you the REAL REASON I chose FIREFOX: Concise, Fast, Designable. Not because it can change skin color !!!

I have read some other users complain about the stupid and disgusting FF 30 version. And one of your developer claimed that you developers have discussed and changed those features of FF seriously. And in the name of safety, you developers did those. OK, let me tell you what I think : 1. The customer's feeling is always the MOST IMPORTANT THING for a product !!! You developer did not give us a choice, and just "think for us" and removed those feactures in the latest version, and offered us a bunch of rubbish skins for us to make fun and hope us would enjoy your new product.

2. If you developers think you CAN CHANGE our customers using habits and TEACH us what is good and what is right, I would tell you I prefer to change to some other kinds of browser.

3. Do you guys really think it is necessary to update so FAST ?! The main success for the FF is because it is designable as the add-on feature. Countless add-on were released for various users to meet their needs, that is REAL REAL big advantages than the IE. At that time, I started to use FF. But your developers should aware: We are playing browser and add-on to enjoy internet, NOT browser playing us !!! We have fun by using FF + addon, NOT like fix compatible problems everyday about the FF + addon for fun !!! So, I really really hope you developers would think about this problem seriously !!!

At present, in order to prevent from I was confused by the your new releasing version of FF which is quite different from the old version. I have uninstallled the FF, and downloaded the old version (FF 28) which I was used to. Your developers may say that is not good, that is not safe, and that is ... Stop, I just DO NOT CARE !!! If one day I really find a problem with FF browser, I just uninstall it and try some other browsers, I WILL NOT CHANGE MY HABIT TO MEET YOUR EXPECTATION !!!

THANKS & GOOD LUCK
