Without any warning or reason, Google just started providing instant results in my searches. I am logged in to my Google account and clearly have the function disabled. It doesn't matter if I use my home page (http://www.ighome.com/?t=165654) or start fresh with Google.com, the same thing keeps happening. I detest this autocomplete function. Is there any way to get rid of it?

I am using Firefox V 25.0.1 on my Mac with OS X V 10.8.5. I used to be able to rename folders, but have been unable to do so. I have no "Bookmarks Manager" or anything identified as a "Library." I have no "Manage my folder" menu tab or "Properties" tab and I am unable to highlight the folder name to rename it. I see nothing under the "filled-in star" in the sidebar. Any way I can rename a sub-folder?

I am operating OSX 10.8.5 and Firefox 26

Recently (without having installed new software or extensions) my homepage setting in firefox default to yahoo. Yahoo also showed up as one of my search engines w/o me having installed it. I deleted it and everything was fine for a while. But now instead of showing my windows and tabs from last time, it just shows yahoo instead.

This is very annoying, because I keep loosing all my pinned tabs. None of the solution discussed above are helpful and the problem persists even in the safe mode.

I have been using Firefox on a Mac computer for a number of years and have been happy with it. I have recently gone to a different trading platform called Trademonster.com and am having issues with its operation. When I call Trademonster, they told me that my Firefox must allow pop-up windows to operate. I do notice that when I log on to Trademonster on Firefox, it does say ".. Firefox prevented 2 pop-up windows from opening". I have gone to Preferences and under Security entered trademonster.com as a site to have access but I am still getting the signal that Firefox is preventing popup windows from coming up on the trading platform. PLEASE HELP. Thx. P. R. Patel

We have 2 RDP servers with Windows Server 2008R2, we recently upgraded firefox from version 9 to version 17.01 because of flash plugin crashes. After the upgrade firefox crashes very regular for every user.

After opening a site, we see it for a split second and then The following error we get: "Firefox has stopped working"

This is the case for most sites, some sites however do work, like www.google.nl Sites that don't work for example: www.youtube.com www.nu.nl www.unox.nl

I thought it would be flash again. What have we tried: - uninstall Firefox and reinstall it again. - uninstall Flash player and install it again. - Disabled all add-ons - tried save mode - tried this one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/922902?esab=a&as=aaq - tried this one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Managing-profiles#os=win7&browser=fx17 - Reset Firefox to factory default - Installed older version 16.02 (after uninstalling 17.01)

I have run a bit out of options. Any help would be very much appreciated!

kind regards,

Joost

My Imac is version 10.8 snow leopard. I tried to import bookmarks from Safari to Firefox but import data from another browser is greyed out, even though private browsing is turned off. I also created an .html file for my bookmarks no problem but when I import this file to firefox, no bookmarks appear. I checked the file in a plain text editor for any folded files but none existed. Can anyone help me solve this problem. It seems the easiest solution would be if the IMPORT DATA FROM ANOTHER BROWSER button was functional. thanks.

I have the problem that Firefox spends more than 10% of CPU on displaying a static webpage like google search results. I am running Firefox on a late 2012 MacBook Pro and the constant use of so much CPU drains the battery and produces a lot of heat after a while.

Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Firefox in safe mode, disable all extensions 2. Enter "why does ff spend so much cpu on google search results" into the address bar 3. Observe how the CPU usage of Firefox increases to a steady 10%

Additional information: It seems that a lot of other users experience the same problem too, e.g., https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/954376

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/960806

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/957512

However, the routine answer to their questions has always been to restart Firefox in safe mode, disable all plugins, etc, etc. I have tried all that, nothing helps.

Workaround: For me, the problem only occurs on the google search results page. I do not know what is special about this particular webpage and why displaying it needs so much CPU. It could be that Firefox uses a lot of CPU on other static webpages as well. However, a simple cure to my problems (for the moment) consists in switching to some other website when Firefox is idle. CPU usage will drop below <1% almost immediately after that.

I'm using Firefox on a Mac. After a new update just now, Firefox is taking up screen real estate at the top of its window to show a tab even when there's no other page open (i.e. there's only one tab). I only need to see tabs if I have more than one open, but I can't find a setting to control this.

For some reason, the Bookmark This Page (command-D on a Mac) no longer works. I hit it, and nothing happens. I know the command-D in the Finder window works, because it makes a duplicate of the file I hit command-D on. But it's not bookmarking any pages anymore. What's the deal. It was working the last time I did a bookmark (about a week ago). No new add-ons added, nothing different done since then. Just stopped working. I have to go the menu and manually choose Bookmark This Page. Shortcut key doesn't work.

Cannot remove GoPhotoIt 1.4 or Torrent Handler 1.1 from my Firefox Extensions list.

I have tried every thing possible to remove these two extensions. I tried running FF in Safe Mode which didn't work, I completely uninstalled FF however when I reinstalled it the two extensions appeared again.

Neither of them have 'Remove' buttons, only 'Enable' or 'Disable'. I have searched high and low on the Internet and while several other people have this issue, no one has provided a working solution.

These two extensions have obviously been installed by a third party but I do not know which one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since upgrading to v23, the searchbar no longer functions - I can enter search terms, but the drop down appears on my second monitor, and when hitting enter, nothing happens - i.e. searching from the search bar no longer works, for any search engine installed.

Also, while it may seem like an unrelated issue, I use the Devonthink add on, in order to capture html pages from firefox directly to Devonthink Pro. After capturing the HTML page into DTP, I can than convert it to a searchable PDF. When converting the page captured from v23, in DTP, all I get is a mirror image and a partial capture of the viewable portion of the original HTML page.

Both of these functions worked perfectly in v22, but are broken in v23. I have since downgraded to v22, and both functions work as expected, so there's clearly an issue with v23 of Firefox.

I am trying to run the latest version of FF on OS X 10.8.4 and I am having some trouble getting the program to open after installation. After the initial installation the browser opened after I was prompted to set up a user profile and I was able to use it. But after I closed FF the only way I can open it again is if I open up the profile manager though terminal (using "/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -p") create a new profile and click the "start firefox" button. If I try to click the FF icon in my dock it just bounces once and does nothing.

Anyone have a solution?
