You used to be able to add a new folder by picking "new folder" and then add the name of the folder. Now when I want a new folder, that choice is not there. When I want to move a new folder, all I had to do was hit move to and a menu would appear of previous folders. And you had a chance to save a new folder if that was your wish, or scroll down and find a folder is already there. Now I do not have that choice to start a new folder.

Some of the sites I visit allow me to format text with control characters (eg ctrl-b to bold the text). However, Firefox interrupts the control characters and opens the bookmark sidebar instead. How can I override this shortcut (and, perhaps, almost every shortcut)? Thank you, Ben

My Windows 10 taskbar is set to auto-hide. For some reason, with Firefox on my laptop (but not on my desktop computer), Firefox will not allow the taskbar to pop up. I have searched for multiple solutions, and attempted:
- Restarting with add-ons disabled. - Closing the browser and then renaming xulstore.json before restarting.
The only solution that has worked temporarily is going into full-screen mode then exiting it, but again, it is only temporary, as either minimizing the window or leaving maximized mode will cause the problem to reoccur when the window is maximized again.

Running FF 67.0.3 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. When I go to certain web pages (Amazon, My Music) I get an intrusive pop-up saying my version of FF is no longer supported and I should upgrade. The pop-up cannot be dismissed, and the only option is 'update now'. (And FWIW, the Amazon page behind it is "out of focus" ) The 'update now' takes me to a page telling me to open the 'help - about' and it will automatically start downloading. Only it doesn't start downloading . And other pages say FF is supposed to update automatically, without any intervention on my part. So I'm stuck.

I just switched from Chrome to Firefox a few days ago. Today when I restarted my laptop and opened Firefox, my browsing profiles, preferences, extensions, about:config settings, etc have been deleted. I'd like to use Firefox as my primary browser, but I have no idea how this happened and no way of knowing that it won't happen again. Is there a way to restore all this so I don't have to waste my time setting it up only to (who knows!) have it deleted by surprise again?

Hello,
I am running Firefox 67.0.4. No video streaming services work with the browser. Each one gives me some sort of error message:
Netflix - Unexpected Error, F7111 HBO - Can't play video, please try again later Amazon Prime - Unsupported Browser
This has been occurring for almost two years now, during which time I have been using Chrome (yuck) to stream video.
I have a VPN installed on my computer (for work) but I am not connected to it, and these problems have been occurring since before I installed the VPN.
I am running the latest version of Flash and Widevine. I have Netflix set to play DRM content in my preferences (I have tried unchecking and checking that box and restarting Firefox). I am running uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and HTTPS Everywhere, but disabling any or all of the add-ons does not solve the issue.
I am going to try refreshing the program but am open to any suggestions before I do so.

When viewing native Apple Photos app, I can control the size. But when Photos is called through FF to add a pix, I can't tell a thing.

Having long been puzzled by what Firefox considers to be my location, I have tried to find out how to set or change it. I followed all leads that seemed promising. the most direct lead was through the Menu (three bars in my PC-based Firefox). It does not contain the Settings option, nor any kind of 'More' option. I even used the about:config lead simply to find it is enabled. All I know is that Firefox holds a Location other than what I would want to to. But I simply cannot find a way to identify where its held; so I can change it.
Given how straight forward this need is I am puzzled on how hard it is to find out how to change it. Can someone help, other than by repeating the common instructions for using the Menu? I attach my list in case it helps.

Since May 2019 update WHY is Firefox 67 so messed up? Constantly changing proxy setting and not able to set it and have it remain set for no proxy. Frequently runs new tab non stop across top of page and unable to stop it from running , I have to log out completely to get the running tab to stop. But it only starts up again when I open Firefox again. \ Eliminated all add-ons and extensions. I had set up extensions with new directions to allow the specific extensions to be downloaded.
Constant message can't find server col122.mail.live.com, when Firefox opens and sometimes this occurs when proxy setting has changed on its own . But this "can't find server" message shows up almost every time I open Firefox and is NOT always associated with proxy changes.
This update has been a BIG HEADACHE !! AND THEN TODAY THE WHOLE THING CRASHED my computer. It took me over 5 hours to get my computer up and running again. However, I am Still getting the message "can't find server col122.mail.live.com" and proxy changes randomly.
HELP PLEASE

Some ads are being blocked in Firefox, but for the life of me, I cannot find where I might have an ad blocker turned on in Firefox or installed as a plug-in or extension. Chrome displays the ads correctly. Example site is www.milesawaygrandparenting.com. There are three ads at the bottom of most pages which display in Chrome but not (for me, anyway) in Firefox.
Where might I look or troubleshoot to find out where the ads are being blocked? I have McAfee Total Protection installed, and Privacy Badger also.

I was pleased when a recent release of Firefox promised to block autoplay by default, but it turns out that it merely blocks the sound of videos. When I go to the websites of, say, the NY TImes or Washington Post, annoying videos are running, using up bandwidth. I can't find any setting within Firefox -- or any add-on -- that succeeds in turning these off. A silent video is better than a noisy one, but why can't we block ALL autoplay?

Look, this is a huge problem because this message isn't just showing up on my Fire Fox browser, it's also on my TOR browser. I'm not seeking to fix TOR here, I'm just saying that it's on there too and TOR uses Fire Fox - this message appears nowhere else on my PC or browsers. My system was just purchased brand new in Feb. This message did not display when I dl either browser. I've NEVER downloaded ANY Avast or anything like it, I use Windows Defender and that's it. I'm not a techie - but I'm like really neurotic over hard drive space - I don't download ANYTHING unless I absolutely HAVE to with the exception of browsers. I only download those from their official websites though. I do play some games, I've only downloaded games from Steam, Origin, and Utomik. I do have all of their clients on my PC. Other than that, there's been NOTHING I've dl. I only included that info because I thought it might help. Can someone PLEASE help with this. I tried to look at the registry, I'm not seeing anything that seems amiss but I need more specifics - I've read the other questions and answers on this - but I don't know HOW to change anything to see if it helps. I already am scared to death to touch the registry.
