About a week ago, Firefox suddenly stopped prompting for passwords and no long autofills passwords. I tried rolling back to v. 63, but it still won't work. If I go into options and check "ask to save logins and passwords," it works as long as Firefox is open. But as soon as I close Firefox, the option is no longer checked.

All my passwords as still there in Firefox, but they will no longer autofill. This literally started about a week ago and I have made NO changes to my computer. I do use Roboform, but I have used it alongside Firefox for many years with no issues. I did log out of Roboform, but Firefox passwords still did not work.

I build and repair computers for others, so do have a clue here. Any suggestions?

Despite the advice on this question on the forum, the sidebar appears whenever I open Firefox, regardless of whether it's set to display bookmarks, history, or synced tabs. And the "Show Sidebars" icon is glued to my toolbar (the one with the URL & search fields). Whenever I go to Customize and drag it out of there to the Customize box, where the unused icons live, it reappears every time I close and reopen Firefox. BUG.

One piece of advice on the Forum from 8/8/18 says to "Right-click a bookmark and choose Properties, then check in the lower left corner for a checkbox to "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" and uncheck that box." I have no such checkbox on the bookmarks I've right-clicked, so I obviously can't uncheck it. Besides, this would require looking at every bookmark - grossly impractical.

The other advice on 8/8/18 also doesn't work. It says to rename or remove xulstore.json in the Firefox profile folder. Doing this makes Firefox open without remembering much of anything. This is going after a fly with a sledgehammer.

This should clearly be in Options. It is a constant annoyance to have to click the X on the sidebar every time I open Firefox.

The last couple of months I have not been able to use my Outlook and send emails or save drafts. I have gone to outlook support but since it still works with Chrome and IE they say its firefox's issue and have no other help for me. I've cleared cache and history. extensions etc.. So I am coming to you now. I do have a VPN but outlook still won't work with it not on. So I am at a loss as to what to do. I don't like chrome nor IE and I've always had firefox and I want to continue that. I was still able to send emails when I first got the VPN so Im not sure what it is except very, very annoying. The same is for my laptop and that does not have the VPN.

I have used Firefox for many years and am always current, as I am with Windows 10, but the last few updates have caused major problems:

1. At times I get a red screen Firefox Critical Error which usually locks up my PC. Sometimes I can free it up with Cntl/Alt/Del, but sometimes I cannot even shut down, have to physically unplug the PC. The screen says to call a phone number for Microsoft support, but this is a 3rd-party company selling software which has somehow compromised Firefox. I reported this before but no one seems to be doing anything about it.

2.Although I have checked Block pop-up windows under Permissions, I now get suspicious pop-up windows the first time I click on many web pages. If I immediately close these, I can then use the page fine. Is there something else I need to do to block these pop-ups?

Firefox 63.0.3 Windows 7 Home Premium

When I opened Firefox this morning, it stated that there was a new version available so I clicked the box.

The browser closed, it went through the motions, and reopened the browser.

I checked the version and it still showed 63.0.3, with the option to update, so I rebooted the computer, reopened the browser, and it still shows 63.0.3 with the option to update.

I am sure that others have already posted about this but what is the fix?

It does not matter what startup page I load, it could be blank page or any other. No sync or other Mozilla account is connected. Tried to disable all add-ons, does not help. I'm seeing a really weird issue - https://rs2018.raffworks.com/ - on Firefox PC only, after opening a couple of the items up, the scrollbar completely stops working. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Firefox on macOS is fine.

The Duckduckgo extension caused the page https://www.commsec.com.au/ to reload constantly so I removed it. Now Firefox won't let me add a general duckduckgo search engine and displays the following nonsensical messages (or others in the same vein) regardless of the number of re-starts or alterations to profile documents (including removal of search.json). Those alterations (including the removal) have since been reversed.

"Firefox could not install the search plugin from "https://mycroftproject.com/installos.php/29720/duckduckgo.xml" because an engine with the same name already exists." Hello!

So, I was working on a new blog on which I'm using the Rubik font from Google fonts.

Everything was fine for several days, but today, after working for some time on it, the font just got messed up randomly (see attached image).

I added the font on a different, testing site and it shows messed up there as well, so it's not something website related.

Now, the shocking part is that it gets messed up only on Mozilla and only on the Mozilla browser that's on my Desktop PC.

I asked a friend to check it out and I also checked it out on my laptop, and the font is fine on other Mozilla browsers, as well as other browsers.

Other fonts from other websites are fine as well.

What troubleshooting I performed:

- Checked the font with Inspect Element, as it's shown here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Page_Inspector/How_to/Edit_fonts and the font is set up correctly;

- Deleted the whole history since the beginning of time (cookies, cache, everything);

- Closed and opened Firefox again;

- Opened Mozilla in Safe Mode (hardware acceleration is disabled by default in safe mode);

- Restarted my PC;

- Uninstalled Mozilla as it shows here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer. Deleted the profile folder and everything.

- Installed a fresh copy again with no add-ons, no nothing.

Nothing worked. That font is still messed up on Mozilla, on this PC.

It doesn't make any sense, especially since it went nuts randomly without a particular reason.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem and how to fix it?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm using FF63.0.3 and a Mac with OS 10.11.6. Firefox works generically well EXCEPT sometimes when I try to save bookmarks, all hell breaks loose. I save them, they LOOK like they're saved, and I try to sync. The sync goes off in never-never land, and never finishes. Aaargh, I say, and I restart Firefox, whereby my new bookmarks are GONE! No memory of them. No record of being at them in my History. Now I should say that when I kill Firefox in this circumstance, I get an "Application not responding" error, so clearly something has already been hosed.

I should say that this happens occasionally. Not always. But it's pretty exasperating when it does, trying to recover those lost bookmarks. Normally, when I sync, it just takes a few seconds, and everything is keen.

Insights abut why, or how to prevent this? This has been going on for months, surviving re-downloading Firefox, and reboots.
