We've a new software which always opens a pop-up window when clicking on the Java links. The content of such a re-sizable window perfectly fits into a new tab. I'd like to force those new windows into a new tab. Pop-up blocker is active and that internal site is in the exception list. So it would be nice to have an option field for that in the general settings or in the Pop-up blocker settings. This is no bug, but could be a new feature of Firefox (like in IE). Thanks &

Problem: All tabs/websites return a "Server not found" error message. History: I updated Ubuntu today 8-10-12 to 10.04.4 LTS kernel 2.6.32-42. I assume that an update of Firefox came with the Ubuntu update. Troubleshooting Information says that I am using Firefox version 14.0.1. The desktop with the updated Ubuntu is connected to a DSL modem which in turn is connected to the phoneline in. There are no filters, no other computers, no routers, and no phone connected to this line. When I disconnected the desktop from the modem and connected the laptop in its place, internet access was okay. The laptop runs older versions of Ubuntu and Firefox. This means that the problem is not in the line or the modem or the ISP. I am posting this question using the laptop, so any system information retrieved automatically is about the wrong computer, operating system, and version of Firefox. I copied the correct information from the malfunctioning desktop to the Troubleshooting Information box below. I tried all of the Help suggestions that I could find during three hours of attempts to solve this problem, but they all blame a firewall that I can't find in Ubuntu. Thanks for any help!

Firefox window is stuck as maximized, the restore down function does not work correctly.

"restore down" minimizes the window & it won't then return to the screen unless I right click on it on the task bar & then click maximize.

The minimize button works as it should & the window can be restored (maximised) by clicking on Firefox in teh task bar.

When this first happened I closed Firefox & restarted Windows (Vista). This has not solved the problem

When trying to play Roadrunner video my Internet connection freezes up: also when browsing safe web sites etc. Also, cannot play Roadrunner Radio in Firefox, only works on Internet Explorer. Time Warner Cable cannot solve this issue. Please tell me what I can do. i really prefer Mozilla Firefos for my Roadrunner service overall, but need to work out these issues.

Despite following both Firefox and Flash directions, Firefox won't play videos from YouTube, Hulu, etc. They either never load or they load and freeze within seconds. Before I got the latest versions of Firefox and Flash, I did not have this problem. So there must be a problem in one or both of them. Since I understand from various websites that this is a widespread problem, can Firefox fix this? It's a major flaw in the latest Firefox version.

When I open a new tab it opens a Bing search window instead of a blank page like it used to. When FF starts it opens a blank page like it should, but if I click on the + to the right of the current tab is when the Bing tabs open. It's just a Bing search window not the Bing homepage. If needed I can submit a screenshot of the new page. I use 2 addons affecting tabs. Multiple Tab Handler, and Colorful Tabs. I think SlimBrowser is an IE based browser. I use Win pro 64 bi on a HP laptop and FF 3.6.8 I've never had this problem all the years I used FF until now Any Ideas? Thanks Floyd

Entries meant for Queriac are going to Verizon "Search Assist" instead

The way my about:config is set up, all URL-bar entries that aren't formatted like a URL are instead sent to "http://queri.ac/lenoxus/X", where X is the entry. The result is that I can treat the awesomebar as a command line of sorts; for example, if I enter "fb", it redirects me to Facebook, and if I type "w chocolate", it searches Wikipedia for "chocolate". (Yes, I know Firefox has keyworded bookmarks, but Queriac allows me to easily synchronize those with other computers.)

I recently set up a wireless system for my house. The router gets input from a DSL modem which gets input from a Verizon phone line. There's a sudden new behavior going on: if the entry is not a URL and doesn't contain a space, the query is instead sent to a Verizon search engine thing called "Search Assist". I tried following Verizon's directions for turning this off (re-interpreting them for Mac 10.5), but the only result was to prevent all Web pages from loading.

In any case, it seems to me that there should be a way for the pattern to go Firefox -> Queriac-based-URL -> okay Verizon, please go to that Queriac page. How do I prevent Verizon from butting in and "trying to help" before Queriac gets a chance to receive the two- or three-letter data? Is there an about:config that could work?

For what it's worth, everything does still work fine if there's a space in the entry. If I type "w dragonfly", it will load this page, but if I only enter "w", it loads this one. So a current workaround is to type things like "fb x". I want the workaround-workaround.
