I go to YouTube to play a video and it does not work, there is just a black space where the video would be, but Internet Explore will play the video, i really like FireFox, but i need for this to work and be dependable if not im gonna have to switch back to IE

I do web development. I was working on a site with a self-signed certificate and therefore had to create an exception in Firefox to access the site using https. Due to unrelated problems on the server, I deleted the account and then recreated it. I also had to create a new self-signed certificate. Now Firefox returns the message Error code: sec_error_reused_issuer_and_serial. I deleted the original exception from Firefox but it still returns the error. I tried to explicitly create a new exception but that returned the error, too. Note I do not have this problem with other computers on the same network and the problem does occur if I move the offending computer to another network. i.e., the problem is associated with the computer, not the network or router.

I tried uninstalling Firefox and then downloading it again. This just started happening about 3 weeks ago - fine before that.On Kijiji I can see pictures on the beginning page but when I go to the ads - say pet services - the photos do not load.

Even thought Firefox is my favorite browser, I'm afraid I"m going to have to give up on it:

• Gmail in Firefox won't load the standard view - only loads basic html. I don't have a slow connection. It loads fine in Chrome Gmail.

• I have Google Phone and the Voice & Video Chat plug-in. I've downloaded them with Chrome and Firefox both. It doesn't show up in Gmail with Firefox, but it shows up if I use Chrome.

• I can't view Yahoo Mail in Firefox. I tried emptying the cache. I tried allowing more memory for the cache. Clearing cookies, etc. It loads the inbox, etc. but when I try to open the mail, it's blank. Now that I've upgraded to 3.6.15, it doesn't load anything at all. It just says "Hello, Username" but the page is blank.

I'm running windows 7 32-bit with up to date Firefox and Adobe Flash player but it crashes every time I try to watch a video. I've done the troubleshooting, reinstalled flash, reinstalled firefox and so on. The flash player works in Chrome and Explorer. What can I do to fix this?

So I tried to watch a video on YouTube, yet Firefox just shows a black box. Neither the video nor the audio will play. It doesn't crash my browser or bring up any errors, which leads me to believe that it is not a Flash Player problem.

I opened Google Chrome and tried, and it plays YouTube videos with no problems.

I restarted my computer, yet it still does not work.

Any assistance is very much so appreciated.

I downloaded and installed Firefox 4, but the fonts on every page look edgy and blurry like I have no ClearType enabled. the only suggestion I've found is to disable hardware acceleration. This helps a bit, but is there a way to fix font problem in some other way because I don't want to disable direct2d

Got notice of upgrade. Downloaded 3.6.15 and installed. On your page describing new features, you prominently mention "Location-aware browsing," as well as the fact that I can turn this spyware off, but after looking through all the "Tools" area, I cannot find a way to turn it off. I am absolutely disgusted that Mozilla has been allowing people to spy on me all these many years I have been using your browsers clear back to Netscape. How can you get away with this without asking my permission? NOW TELL ME HOW TO TURN OFF THIS INSIDIOUS PIECE OF *!

Firefox used to allow turning off "Google Suggest", but that's not possible with recent updates. I never, never, never (never!) want what "Google Suggest" insists on presenting to me. It's really inconvenient and a time waster.

I save my passwords and usernames to the various websites I visit often. I like that feature. But I don't save usernames and passwords to sensitive sites like my banking! I memorize those.

Anyway, this comes in handy when I want to check the weather or night sky or whatever when I can just go to the website and my username and password are already filled in the blank. All I have to do is just click the Sign In button and I am there.

My problem is that sometimes Firefox will not fill in the blank even though the password and username have been saved and remembered (when it asks me if I want Firefox to remember this username and password) . I still have to type it in manually.

And that's not all. Sometime Firefox fills in the blank everytime. Sometimes it finishes filling in the blank when prompted. In other words, when I start to manually fill in the blank by typing the first letter, Firefox will then go ahead and finish filling in the blanks.

Sometimes , when I have two similar starting names (say passwords that start with an S), I type the S, then Firefox displays a choice between the two with a drop down menu. I choose the one I want and Firefox does the rest. It works well in doing that.

Sometimes there are several different Log In pages that get asked to be remembered by Firefox. I don't know why this is happening either. But even with that, Firefox will not even pick from those two or three (of the very same username and password) to fill in any blanks.

And then once again, sometimes Firefox will ask about remembering the username and password and I say Yes, then it simply does not remember to fill it in the blanks.

I want consistency from Firefox. I simply want it to remember all those passwords and usernames like it says it will do.....then apply that information to fill in the blanks each and every time.

Can someone please tell me what I need to do to get Firefox to do that?

One feature I loved in Firefox v3.6 was closing tabs with a programmed mouse button. My Microsoft Intellimouse has a button that I programmed for the "Close" command. In 3.6, clicking this button would only close the active tab I was on. This made for fast opening and closing of tabs. It's the main feature that made me ignore all other browsers actually.

Now I got updated to v4. And now, clicking my mouse's Close button closes out the Firefox window completely, just as though I'd clicked the window close "X" in the upper right.

How can I get it back to the way it was in 3.6?

ebay sends lsearches to my email which I can click on and go to the item. It worked fine until Firefox updated when I restarted. Now the links hang up in a transitional url ("roving") and do not get to the final URL of the item. I get a white screen. Furthermore, my email also becomes a white screen. Clicking the link in Firefox gives me the rover url complete and does NOT go all the way to the cgi.ebay.com url, where the item is. Internet Explorer goes THROUGH the rover url and ends at the cgi.ebay.com url. HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS UPDATE UNTIL THE BUG GETS FIXED???Or do I have to just use Internet Explorer, which still works.

I just updated Firefox to 3.6.15. Since then I have had to change my homepage in Firefox from Washington Post to the New York Times because I keep getting this message:

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.washingtonpost.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

I have also changed my default browser to IE 9.0 to get to the Post site without the annoying message

mailto: links used to open in Outlook. Then they began opening Gmail, so I uninstalled the Google Toolbar. Now mailto: links do nothing when I click on them. I've tried deleting the mimeTypes.rdf as recommended by File types and download actions. I also see that my mailto: is set to Outlook as shown by my Applications setting, but the links are still not working, even though they work in IE. Ideas?

I changed a number somewhere in the registry so the address bar would not remember anything, instructions were provided by firefox, I did not print them so I could go back and change after firefox fixed the problem with the address bar making too many suggestions, that seems to have been rectified now I would like to change it back.

A few weeks ago subject line autofill for gmail email stopped working. Old subjects from many weeks ago still come up but not new ones. I finally researched in gmail support and see many others with same problem. Gmail says it's a browser issue but settings are correct for remembering history, etc and have not changed. Is there a Firefox fix? Not having this feature is wasting a lot of my (and others) time retyping same subject over and over.
