On Mac and PC using various versions of FireFox (including 29.0.1 on Win 7) the following occurs:

"Save Page As" a page with several iFrames in the content. I use "Web page, complete" and name the file.

Close FireFox. The .html file and accompanying folder are saved correctly. Then I open the file in FireFox and make some changes to fields in a form. Then "Save Page As" again and use the same name. It prompts to overwrite the existing file and I click Yes.

Three out of four times the file is no longer there. The folder remains but the .html file is gone. Not in the trash or hidden, just gone.

I know this sounds crazy but I have tested it on about 20 computers (both mac and various windows versions), all with different FF versions and different antivirus. The above scenario happens: always on 1 computer, occasionally (random) on 3, and hasn't been observed yet on the others.

Has anyone encountered this before? Are there any antivirus or malware products that could cause this? Any settings in FF that could? Any thing about this page or frames that could cause it?

Why won't Firefox keeped me logged in to anything after I close and reopen it?

When I was running an older version of Firefox, when I would close a firefox window and later reopen it, I would stay logged in to everything: facebook, hotmail, gmail with multiple sign in, etc. It would also reload all the tabs I had open without me having to click "restore previous session" I liked this as I could close the window, but keep everything that I was working on or wanted open in Firefox without having to pull it all up again. I have since upgraded to the newest version after installing a new hard drive (Windows 7 still), but whenever I close Firefox, I am logged out of everything and my previous tabs don't restore unless I click "restore previous session" (that still will keep me logged out of everything, even if I click it).

How do I set up Firefox to not log me out whenever I close the browser and to automatically restore my previous session?

browser.sessionstore.privacy_level is set to 0 and I do not have "Clear history when Firefox closes" checked.

Please help! Thanks!

Like so many others, I find the ongoing and worsening memory leaks a real disappointment -and now getting worse since V28 on both of my W7 machines.

I am now on FFox V30, and while it starts out at about 300MB, after a few hours it grows to be typically 2.xGB.

I have run the about:memory several times, but don't know how to use the results to any advantage. It appears that about 7 tabs each use about a 1/3-GB of memory.

I typically will have 5-6 windows open, a total of 20-30 tabs.

I have seen several threads on this, but none with any resolution, and dating back to V4 (about 2006)!

Is there any hope, or way to resolve, or just need to jump to Chrome?

Before Firefox 29 I could tell my devices to copy all tabs, bookmarks, passwords, and history from Device A to Device B. THAT is what Sync used to be. Firefox 29 took away that functionality. I used to be able to flawlessly keep two other devices synced up with my main device. Now we have no control over our Sync accounts and it does nothing to Sync devices after you get the "Setup complete" graphic.

So after years of flawless Sync functionality, now all Sync does is nothing.

Mozilla took away functionality from their product. That is the issue I would like someone to address: bring back to Sync the ability to tell my devices to copy all tabs, bookmarks, passwords, and history from Device A to Device B.

Starting about a week ago, seemingly at random tabs will open on their own. They always try connecting to the URL mentioned in the title. Now, this obviously won't resolve because that isn't a valid URL. This only seems to happen when firefox is already open, and isn't affected by running firefox in safe mode. I've ran some scans and haven't found anything, I've been through my startup processes and nothing is amiss there either. I feel I should also mention that this is only happening in firefox, I've left Internet Explorer open for a few hours to see if anything would happen and nothing did. Funnily enough it's just happened in the time it's taken me to type all of this out. That's about all I can think to add. I hope someone can get to the bottom of this.

In Firefox 29, the Forward button is hidden half the time.

(There are several documents describing that this *is* the case, but not that say *why* this is the case. None of the other controls simply disappear when they're not clickable. The Back button certainly does not.)

The upshot of this is that the URL bar is constantly bouncing left and right as I navigate around, which is annoying and disconcerting. How can I restore the stable Forward button, like Firefox 1-28 had?

I just downloaded firefox 29 from using 28. Is there a way to detach the back button so i can put it on the left side of my home button? I used to have it laid out to my back button all the way to the left then the forward button was to the right of that and then my home button was to the right of that. I dont like that it seems less customizable now. Also, I use to be able to move my Stumbleupon toolbar under my Norton toolbar and now they have reversed and it wont let me move my stumbleupon toolbar under my norton one like it use to let me. Help!!! thank you

Firefox 29 launches upon initial install but fails after it is closed

Hello everyone,

I work in desktop support and I have several users who are having issues with Firefox. I'm hoping someone can help me find the solution to this problem:

Firefox automatically upgrades them to version 29. The initial launch will load the program fully. Once closed and relaunched, it never returns but you can see firefox.exe in task manager which seems to get stuck. I will go into task manager, end task, relaunch, and nothing happens. I even tried reverting back to version 28 but that too acts the same way.

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, removing profiles, creating entirely new Windows profiles, loading Firefox in safe mode and nothing seems to make any difference. I've cleaned up the registry and old folders so it is a virgin install yet the same problem returns.

The PCs have been scanned for malware and none appears to exist.

Is anybody else experiencing this problem? If so, any ideas on how to remedy this?

Thank you kindly for your time.

Best regards, Tremoloman

The issue seems to be with the certificate provider's authenticity. The message that I get is: "This Connection is Untrusted". On expanding the 'Technical Details' tab, it says: "mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted. (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer)".

In the previous version of Firefox, though the security warning was displayed, there was another drop-down called 'I understand the risks' and there used to be an 'Add Exception' button through which I could confirm the exception and continue to gmail but that drop-down is no longer available.

I tried the following options and none of them worked:

1. Started Firefox in Safe Mode and tried accessing gmail. Same error is shown. 2. Deleted the existing Google cookies and also cleared my network cache and history, restarted Firefox, but still same error. 3. Closed Firefox, deleted cert8.db file, restarted firefox, tried opening gmail, again same error. 4. Reset Firefox, still same error.
