Received a "Recommended Security Improvement" from 161016.avstats.com the number being today's date on another pc. Can't find anything about it on the Mozilla website and can't find anything about avstats.com when searching online. Note: the originating website name is avstats.com and not awstats.com. The file that was offered was 161016.avstats.com/update/init. A warning appeared as a drop down menu saying: "Firefox prevented this site from asking you to install software on your computer". Decided to pass as it didn't come from mozilla.

3 or 4 days ago, a popup came on my Facebook page saying that Firefox needed to be updated or fixed, sorry I don't remember what it said. I clicked on it and kept on the page with no problems. Got off the a page about an hour or so later. Came back later and tried to play a couple of games and they wouldn't load or took forever to load also a yellow lock showed up which was always green before. Went to the Monzilla site and tried to figure out what to do. Reinstalled Firefox as suggested and seemed to work after that. Came back later and tried to get on again and had the same problem. Again reinstalled Firefox, but this time it didn't repair it. Since that time, it hasn't worked to completely open at all. I have tried several times to reinstall since and still won't work or install partly. Have also run Norton complete system scan several times including Norton's eraser still didn't do anything. Been using Firefox for years and never have any problems before, I'm at a total loss.
As you can most likely see, I'm not a computer wiz, but, do use it several times a day.

Recently I have had problems with Firefox. Starting on the morning of Dec. 14th 2016 I turned on my computer and started Firefox, and a new window opened after it saying i needed to install your patch immediately, which i did. I assumed it was about all the hacking of accounts going on but now Firefox barely functions. Youtube and Twitch are almost useless to try and go on and even starting up on my homepage it freezes and hangs until I close it with the Task Manager and try and open it. I have to do this multiple times a session after 12 years of flawless operation now Firefox leaves much to be desired. I've run through all the helpful hints on the troubleshooting pages, to no avail. What's going on? I have updated Firefox to 50.1.0 and I'd hate to think that little patch just destroyed the functionality of this program, but i am keen to get it back to working as flawlessly as it did for 12 years right up until that morning. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Chris Smith
I have had this pop up several times in the last few weeks but have always avoided it because it isn't from Mozilla.
no reason to reply just wanted to let you know, maybe you can catch these people.

I am using Firefox 55.0.3 32-bit for Windows 7 PRO for general browsing to rather benign websites when suddenly a popup screen with all the Firefox images tells me that in have to install an emergency patch. The website that is in the URL is www.baigaanimaspace.org. How can I stop these annoying hijacks from happening, without having to uninstall, clear the registry and reinstall?

By browsing with firefox i was redirect on a website with a questionary in Mozilla usage. I am sure it was a cheating web site as they where doing a lottery based on MOzilla usage with the prizes like Iphone MacbookAir and so on. Of course i closed immediately it to avoid to get any kind of virus. I jut want to inform you that they were using your name. Maybe it is a fake and they understand what is the browser used and then they change the question based on the browser used by the client.
If you find the information useless do not worry. your browser is the best for me in term of security.

Is that a valid Firefox download?
Thanks
