I have two desktop icons for Firefox. Each opens to a different file. How do I clear the old file? What do I do about the message that Firefox can not update automatically? Where do I look to see Firefox file and see what date it is downloaded? If it is operational? Why is the same series of problems repeating daily?

Hello, I need help. I downloaded and installed Firefox (latest version), the icon appears in the taskbar, but when I click on it, FireFox does not launch and I always get the same error message. I uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted the PC, but I still have the same problem, even starting from firefox.exe in Windows (C:) >Programs>Mozilla Firefox. Could it be possible that Microsoft is blocking the launch of Mozilla Firefox? Thank you in advance for your help. Attached is a screenshot of the error message. So, I tried to download a video from my YouTube Premium Account. According to the youtube webpage, that video was downloaded to my iMac. My FF 124.0.1 settings are set up to download to the Desktop. I am running Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1

Yet the file is not there. I tried searching on the Support page for FF. Lots of articles but no real help. Tons of info about how to tweak the download but Nothing about Where that download ended up. I did give Permission in Settings for youtube.com to download to my iMac, but again, I can't find the file. In the Storage section, it shows 37.5 MB, so it should be on my iMac, right?

How is it possible for youtube.com to show that I downloaded the file but I can't find it?

I am totally at a loss. Never had anything like this happen before. Prior downloads have Always shown up on the Desktop.

I'm a recent reluctant user of Windows 11. I can't get Firefox configured the way I like it on the new Windows 11 machine. Every single time I try to find an extension, I get a message "Gah. Your tab just crashed." I've tried the Restore This Tab option to no avail.

I uninstalled Fx, downloaded a fresh copy (using Edge, ugh) and installed it. I get the same result.

I had Fx running on the Win 11 machine, before I foolishly accepted an upgrade that took me to Win 11. I suspect that there might be a corrupted Profile or other vestige of that Firefox installation that is causing problems. (Or, because I used Edge to download MSofat hacked me.)

Can someone please tell me how to find and remove all vestiges of Firefox? I want to get back to a fresh slate and try again.

I'm posting this from my old and slowly dying HP laptop running Windows 10. Fx runs here, but the system is slower than Christmas to a 9-yo.

I tried moving the firefox profile from my old windows 10 laptop to my new windows 11 laptop but the migration wasn't successful.

I tried the below steps:

Clicked the firefox three bars at the top right corner of the browser->then the help button->then more troubleshooting information->then clicked the open folder button next to the profile folder->then copied the profile to an external USB ->then took this firefox profile and copied it to the existing firefox profile in the new windows 11 laptop via the same location.

However, the data: cookies, bookmarks & history from the prior firefox profile (windows 10) are missing once restarting up the firefox browser in the (windows 11)

Any ideas if there may be something I'm missing.

I change nothing in my settings and I am now on Dark background everywhere despite having: - forced the system settings (OS) to stay in light background - in about:preferences appearance I've manually selected (forced) the light background - in about:config I've tried to switch the browser.theme.content-theme to "1" (instead of "0")

this is really frustrating, I would like to get a better "reading" of what happens, as an Engineer I am happy to also squint at logs if needed, please consider adding a preference / settings change log file

Files will not download. The file is a rfa(revit) file. This is my second day using this web browser..

I have checked setting, to which I switched around to try and troubleshoot. This did not work. I ended up downloading another browser and the file downloaded no issue. Why is this happening? Ant help is greatly appreciated!

Since the latest Firefox update a few days ago, I am not able to log into my Outlook/Webmail account; nothing happens.

I can access it on google chrome but not on Firefox.

Is there a way for me to retrieve my bookmarks? They have followed me through several macbooks, and reinstallations and this is the first time they've gone missing.

Since support is being discontinued for W7 Firefox, would someone please recommend the best version of Firefox for Windows 7? Security is not a concern, since I have reliable 3rd-Party security setup(s) for my Windows 7 systems.

Hello, I bought a new acer laptop that has only installed by default Microsoft edge. Now, It seems that I can't see how to download and install Firefox as my browser by default. It seems that Firefox is not supported by Microsoft edge browser. I need my Firefox browser to my new laptop. I need help please.

After wipe of drive and reinstallation of Ventura by the Apple Store, and migration from Time Machine, Firefox won't launch. It's there, but it won't open. Click the icon and the icon moves as if it were going to launch, but the app doesn't open. If I were to reinstall Firefox, would it sync with my settings and Bookmarks?

Thank you for trying to help me download Firefox onto my computer. As per your advice, I first tried shutting down and restarting my computer. That did not work. It stopped at the point where it said Execute: "C:|Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\default-browser-agent.exe" register-task 308046B... (It looks like there might be some more letters and/or numbers after the "B", but I can't see what they are.) I waited a few more hours to see if the installation would continue, but it did not. I then went back to try downloading Firefox in the regular way. First I got a message, "Now installing. Firefox will be ready in just a few moments." Again, installation proceeded to around 80 - 90 %, and then I got a message, "Hmmm. For some reason, we could not install Firefox. Choose OK to start over." Starting over didn't help. The link discussing this on your website shows a different installation program than what I see when trying to install Firefox. (Image from your website below.) In my case, I am not presented with this screen nor the option to choose my own destination (D:\Program Files\).
