System Compaq SR1500XX with AMD Sempror chip set. Original had WinXP 32 bit Operating System currently installed, Linux Mint 19 which comes with FF 70.0 Problem, FF 70.0 fails to open at all. Error message is shown "Mozilla Crash Report" indicating FF vhas crashed, no details shown. FF 70.0 has been uninstalled and much earlier edition installed to match age of PC, again FF 39.0 fails to open and the same error message is shown. Any suggestions on how to open FF70.0, 39.0 or any version of Firefox with Mint19 as the operation system. Yhank you

Firefox assistenza dice che ci potrebbe essere interazione con programmi antivirus,antispyware,ecc.. Provare a configurare il firewall utilizzato per capire se il problema si risolve. Il problema è il seguente: Firefox non si avvia perché dice: FIREFOX è già avviato, ma non risponde. Il processo esistente di Firefox deve essere chiuso per aprire una nuova finestra. CHIUDI FIREFOX---- HO PROVATO A DISINSTALLARE FIREFOX ed a eliminare da GESTIONE ATTIVITA' il file FIREFOX.EXE -- HO REINSTALLATO FIREFOX - SI E' RIAPERTO MA POCO DOPO E' TORNATO LO STESSO PROBLEMA. I'm not sure what else to try. What I listed above is what I was able find based off of Google search and Youtube videos. Please help.

Браузер обновился сам, без предупреждения, проигнорировав мои настройки, и не позволяет продолжить работу без перезапуска. О найденном обновлении он сообщил относительно давно. Я его игнорировал, кажется, больше недели, потому что не хотел перезагружать несколько сотен вкладок. Компьютер всё это время был включен, а браузер оставался открыт. Вопроса, собственно, три: 1. Это баг или фича? 2. Если это фича, то как её отключить, чтобы такое не повторилось в будущем? 3. Можно ли что-то сделать сейчас, чтобы продолжить работу, не перезапуская браузер?
ОС - Linux mint. Firefox установлен НЕ из репозитория, а как отдельный deb пакет, скачанный с официального сайта Мозиллы. Версия 68.0.2 (64-битный).

We use Firefox fairly extensively in our VDI environment and has become our organization's standard web browser. In a non-persistent VDI environment, on occasion we have users that experience the dreaded "Couldn't load XPCOM" popup error message. In my research this usually is attributed to a faulty/corrupt update. We are a VMware View shop using instant clones with what's called a "Writable Volume" which is, in essence, a file system filter that allows certain user data to be written to persistent storage and the rest is written to the non-persistent VM. Upon logout the persistent disk is detached and the non-persistent VM is removed/rebuilt.
We are using the ESR branch of Firefox with policies configured to disable automatic updating, so I'm not sure where Firefox is breaking. Is there anything I can do to assist? On top of this, it's more difficult to reproduce since I'm unable to causing it to error out myself.

I only get one instance of firefox in task manager and there should be two or more. Opens to white blank page. Websites do not work. Can't get to preferences/options to make changes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times each time removing all profile directories as well as registry entries and rebooted. Everytime same result. Not sure where to go from here.

As Admin opened "Services," "Mozilla Maintenance" rite clicking then selection "Properties" "Recovery" then "First failure" drop down "Run a Program," six (6) lines down to "Run Program" box clicking upon "Browse" RB then selecting the path to my 64bit "Mozilla Maintenance.exe" entering that within the BOX without any HELP. Then went into the Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Maintenance Service\Uninstall.exe (removing the 32bit Maintenance Services from "Services").
Going again as Admin into the "Program Files\Mozilla FireFox\maintenanceservice_installer.exe" thinking that would install my 64bit Mozilla Maintenance serevcices.exe for my 64bit which it did not, my 32bit is back after a restart. How do I make this change?

I believe the folder is always named something like MSIa78b492.tmp It's such a pain to have to go into the permissions and edit them so I can delete the folder.

Changed performance settings with no change. I do not have any add-on. This is truly very disruptive. I've checked compatibility, cleared out my allowable programs and re-entered, checked my Windows defender, plus everything else I could find. It would not open in safe mode although I tried something once (no idea what) and it did open briefly to save my bookmarks but then I couldn't get out or back in. I'm at a loss what to do at this point and I really like Firefox. I'm not savvy with computers but I know some and can follow directions. Firefox worked fine until the update and nothing has changed on my computer since that point except downloading Chrome to have a browser.

I am running with ubuntu 18.04.2 I was having a problem with the snap version of firefox so I downloaded, and installed the non-snap version of firefox. Now I want to delete the snap version and use the other. My problem is that all my stuff is in the snap version. My thought is to save the profile of the snap version and then use that profile for the non snap version, delete both versions and reinstall the version I want to use. before I start, however, I thought I would ask whether that would work.

For some odd reason, my browser stopped working and it closed on itself. Firefox asked me if I wanted to send a crash report to help and so I did. BIG.FUCKING.MISTAKE.
Now, I can't even open the damn thing. So I tried uninstalling it. And for more unknown reasons, it's not fully uninstalled. The remaining folders in the Mozilla Firefox folder are browser and font. I cannot delete either of these. I get hit with:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\fonts is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."
I tried booting in safe mode and deleting these folders and it still doesn't work. I tried reinstalling but then I get hit with ANOTHER error half way through installation.
"Error creating directory: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\features Click Cancel to stop the installation or Retry to try again."
I have a crap ton of tabs that I was working on and now they're probably all gone. Now, I'm stuck with using Chrome to write this whole mess up.
