I have been having problems with firefox lately. Every time I try to run the program it automatically closes without giving an error message. I am running Windows 10 and this happens in safe mode as well. I have tried doing a clean install of firefox - that did not fix the problem. I tried deleting my profile after uninstalling then doing a fresh install, this did not fix the problem either. I ran a virus scan and did not detect any malware. I don't know what else to try.

Hi All, I have only recently installed Firefox for a specific purpose, have no plugins installed, just the basic program with about 3 bookmarks, that's it. Was all working OK until yesterday when it just wont boot. I have tried everything I can think of, so far:

Have tried removing (using app cleaner) and re installing - No joy

Tried going to profile manager through terminal - deleted and created profiles but still no joy

Tried deleting app again with app cleaner and reinstalling previous version - no go

Tried starting app in safe mode (shift key) - no go.

Looking for suggestions as I need to use Firefox for just 1 old website that seems to not work on anything else!

I'm running a Macbook pro Early 2015, Mojave 10.14.6

Alright, I use Firefox like normal, but sometime today it stopped working, I get "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible" error, I looked it up using safari, followed every possible interpretation of the instructions to no avail, I deleted the profiles folder and file, in both cache, and application support, on both my user folder and global HDD folder, no fix whatsoever, I don't know why this isn't working (yes I checked the hidden files, I searched my entire HDD and found no results for anything remotely named "Profile"/"Profiles" and I don't know what else to say.

I have checked: Application support (on every user) & Cache (on every user)

I don't know what's up, I also reinstalled Firefox after deleting everything related to it and I just don't know.

My firefox browser will not open, so I can not try most of the solutions recommended. I do not want to lose stored information such as bookmarks and pass codes so would unstalling and reinstalling cause me to lose that information? I need to speak to a person to help with this, but do not know how to go about it. Should I be contacting Norton or Mozilla?

I noticed that firefox stays in memory after I close it. In fact, If I open and close firefox 10 times, ten processes are shown in memory, each consuming around 100Mb.

I'm using Windows 7 in my corporate computer and I have been using Firefox 65.0.1 x64. I've tried to use it in safe mode (no add-ons) and problem persisted. I uninstalled it, deleted all Mozilla data in AppData and ProgramData and reinstalled it fresh. The problem persisted.

Then I installed the 32-bit version of Firefox and the problem is no more. Is it a bug that has to be fixed or some setting that shoudn't be enabled?

Thank you.

Since version 42 it's not showing any website properly. Not even in Safe Mode and even after resetting everything countless times. Even after uninstalling and re-installing it's same. Uninstalled and re-installed version 43; with default settings and all issues are still there.

As you can see in images, there are no problem with internet connection. Everything else is working just fine.

I keep getting a pop up that say Mozilla prevented software from installing and do I want to install and when I say "No" it doesn't take me to the page that I was going to. Just a blank page. The software is privacy-keep.com and the website is kijiji.ca. I have deleted cookies, blocked keep.com, went in in safe mode, scanned with mozilla, checked for plug in updates, contacted kijiji.ca and to no avail.

Hello, I've been trying to install the latest firefox on my pc running windows 7 home premium, 64bit. I have cleaned the pc with ccleaner, run mutiple scans with malwarebytes and commodo antivirus, uninstalled old firefox programs and deleted as many junk files and programs that I could find. I have also tried to download with Expolorer rather than Chrome ...All to no avail. The following message details accompany the window which displays.. "firefox has stopped working", and firefox never opens to get to a "safe mode". I have used firefox up until a few weeks ago when an upgrade attempt failed. I would really like to use firefox again, but can't seem to resolve this issue. Your help would be much appreciated. Joe

So, after installing the latest updated firefox at the weekend and after having a look around the new version, I immediately ran into problems. It seems more like a newly installed web browser rather than an upgrade, apart from the ugly UI, I also seemed to have lost so many things especially username and passwords that FF would normally store were not carried accross. That was not the worst part though!

The very next time I tried to start FF however things got worse, I just got an error box instead and FF would not start, "XML Parsing Error" it read. So at this point I have no working FF web browser, the fix was to uninstall FF and download and install an older version and disable updates, now all is back to normal and all my username/passwords have still been maintained too!

I am running Linux Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS if that helps.

I am not sure what to do now, if I keep the older version that works, I do not get the security updates etc, but installing the current version won't run and when it did, it didn't keep all my settings from the previuos version?

Each time Firefox is updated I keep getting Firefox Not Responding, and this happens EACH time there is an update. Refresh does not help. New tabs open up very slowly AFTER getting Not Responding. Changed performance settings with no change. I do not have any add-on. This is truly very disruptive. If I could figure out how to import all of my saved web pages I would stop using Firefox and use Edge. As of today I HAVE NOT received any answers on how to correct this problem from Mozilla

I like Firefox but sad to say that I have increasinlt wasted much time lately with its crashy ways and I made the mistake of using Refresh today.

Now get a message when I try open the app saying "copy of firefox is already open" which it is not true and it is not showing as running on the system.

I have tried reinstalling and it makes no difference.

I dont have an IT engineering degree but how do I fix this before I just give up and walk away? Thanks.
