I have my bookmarks sorted into folders and I want to search a specific folder. I went to Bookmarks>Show All Bookmarks and I selected the folder I want, which happens to be Quilting. I know I have a bookmark for a quilt with pine trees so I put tree in the Search Bookmarks box and I get every bookmark with the word tree. Not just bookmarks in Quilting but in every folder. Can you search just a specific folder?

Hello Community

Do hope someone can help?

Have tried all suggestions in Support area on topic: Lost/Recover Bookmarks. Also spoke to Windows Support and was told to call Mozilla Firefox Technical Support. I've been unable to find a number.

I had a Windows update around the same time as a Firefox update, May/June, only realised all saved bookmarks prior to June 2020 have disappeared. This has never happened before.

Urgently need to find out if there's a method of retrievel or have it confirmed that all of these very important bookmarks are permanently lost.

Thank you in advance

This afternoon I came in and my computer was off unexpectedly. After restarting, firefox looked odd and I noticed all my settings and bookmarks have all disappeared. I tried "restoring" them, but it says "unable to process backup file" and nothing changes. It doesn't matter what day i select, it will not restore. Something just isn't right with it. Seems its a new firefox sync thing that wasn't there before. Thanks

I'm syncing my profile to a mobile device and for privacy reasons, I'd prefer not to use my usual bookmarks toolbar from home. I don't want to disable it either, I just want it reduced to a smaller number of bookmarks. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Good day! I recently had trouble adding bookmarks to my favorites lists. Previously, when you press the keys "ctrl+D", a window opens for choosing where to save the tab (bookmarks bar, bookmarks menu), and now when you press the specified combination, everything immediately falls into the other bookmarks folder .... Is this problem solved? In the settings, I could not find.

Windows and/or Firefox updated recently and something odd is happening. If I open Firefox from my desktop I can access my bookmarks, no problem. If I read my emails in Windows Live Mail and click on a link from an email to a website, the web page opens but I cannot access my bookmarks from this window. They just aren't there. I have to go and open Firefox from the desktop or from the icon in the menu bar.

Anyone have an idea what happened and how to fix?

when i choose show your bookmarks i have the correct list and favicons as i had in previous versions of firefox ,im using the light theme and its applicable to all themes,so here is the issue..moving your mouse pointer over the selected bookmark use to give it a dark blue highlight and any bookmark you chose would highlight like this, now i have no highlight on placing the cursor over it,just a text box in mono showing the url this seems a bit vague when moving over several bookmarks and none is highlighted.ive recently moved to windows 10 pro and was clean install and up to date with a new profile on firefox .only the bookmarks were a html file imported from a usb stick so cant see that being an issue. firefox is also up to date with adblocker ultimate as the only addon.

Hello everyone!

I've been having problem with duplicating bookmarks ever since I started using Firefox a few months ago.

1) The browser does not notify me when I'm saving bookmark(s) I already have, (then forget days later).

Previous browsers I've used have the same issues.

2) When I change a bookmark's folder (for organizational purposes), it retains the book mark in both places.

I have duplicated the process many times, and it has, on the blue remove button, the number of
   duplicates (ie: 2 bookmarks).

I have tried the following:

1) Perusing Help/Community forums which don't seem to address the issue specifically, such as pointing to

sync settings (which don't apply to me, as i only have one device).

2) Trying various extensions that only seem to apply to earlier versions of Firefox (based on forum dates).

The question I have is:

Why isn't this something that is embedded into the browser itself instead of relying on extensions that may work, but have glitches unto themselves? It seems like a pretty easy bit of coding (based on people I know who are pretty savvy).

Here are my system specs:

HP ENVY Windows 10 Home 10.0.19041 Build 19041 (64 Bit) Firefox Version 78.0.2 (64-Bit)

Thanks in advance for your time & assistance!

So Firefox did an update. Every time I tried to click on a link in my email, it would open a new window instead of a new tab in my currently opened window. It did not have any of my bookmarks or passwords either. This morning, I unpinned Firefox and went and found the program and re-pinned it to my task bar. Now I have the new version that does not have any of my bookmarks or log ins. Does anyone know how to set my PC back to fix this? I can't lost my bookmarks or my passwords.

Hello.

Is there a way to sync only specific bookmark folders between my PC's and phones? I love the Sync feature in Firefox. But I have many bookmark folders on one PC that I don't want transferred to my other PC nor to my phone. If Mozilla doesn't allow folder-specific syncing, is there an add-on feature that can accomplish this?

Thank you. I appreciate your help. -Brian in Alaska

Hello,

Last night I went to bed and all my bookmarks were there. Today I woke up and all the bookmarks are gone on my laptop and the open tabs, add-ons etc. I am signed in. Restoration does not help (last backup is with today date). But on my smartphone I see them in bookmarks-> desktop bookmarks. How do I save them? I really don´t want to lose them.

Thanks a lot for any advice,

Cyril

I have a bookmarks menu link on the bookmarks toolbar. When I save a new bookmark to one of the folders it does not appear. It does appear when I click on the saved history icon. However, if I open the bookmarks sidebar from the history icon and navigate to the same folder, the new bookmark appears but it is missing many other bookmarks that are in the other folder.. I can also save the bookmark to the toolbar and it appears there. Also I can cut an paste the bookmark from the toolbar to the folder. I've tried disabling add-ons and that doesn't fix the problem. There clearly are two sets of bookmarks. How do point Firefox to the one I want?
