I updated firefox through apt, and since then, have not been able to log into twitch I am on ubuntu 24

apt list --installed | grep firefox firefox/mozilla,now 144.0.2~build1 amd64 [installed]

Attempting to log in returns the generic "Your browser is not currently supported"

since the uptate to version 144.0.2 I have two problems. the first one is async streaming on platforms eg. youtube or netflix. The videos take a very long time to load. Even if a video has already preloaded and I skip to that area, the video takes an extremely long time to load again. The 2nd problem i have in livestreams eg. live-TV or twitch. The loading time is very long. It is so long that many livestreams are doesn't even able to start. So, it is no longer possible for me to watch livestreams on Firefox. what i've done to fix it: - I deactivated all Add-on's and deleted all browser Data - I made a new profile and deleted the old ones - I reinstalled Firefox

Nothing worked. so pls can you help me that I can use Firefox normally as usual? (sorry for my bad english, I'm from Germany)

When I go to (seemingly) any Elsevier site, the browser tab immediately closes with no error or explanation. An example is this site:

I'm having trouble opening urls in a private window from the command line on Windows 11.

Firefox version: 144.0.2

Starting a new private window works fine with "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private-window

But doing: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private-window "https://www.google.com"

just opens the link in the last selected window if the last window selected is non private it just opens the link there instead of a new or existing private window

I have also tried with no success: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private "https://www.google.com"

Since the last update, the firefox taskbar icon is showing a strange shopping card icon? How can I remove it? I am not shopping with Firefox, I am using it as my web browser.

My account has my primary email and it used to have my secondary email connected as well. I now want to create a new account with the secondary email so I can have another profile, so I deleted my secondary email from the manage accounts on my primary email. I ensured that this says it is removed on all devices and it is. But when I try to create a new account with that secondary email, I keep getting the error that I need to sign in my primary email and I am taken back to my profile with my primary email.

How can I fully detach my secondary email so that I can make a new account with it?

Hi -- I'm getting quite a few page crashes that seem mostly tied to YouTube, although not exclusively. I only recently swapped over to Firefox from Chrome because I was having similar crashing issues with that browser as well. This is after a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro and a number of different benchmark tests (no known issues with CPU, GPU, or RAM).

Since there are so many reports that all seem different, could someone help troubleshoot? I really can't tell if it's a browser problem, maybe something with my MOBO or PSU or other hardware.

Something very bad happened to me today (11/3)....

Firefox 144.0.2 was installed on 10/30/25, and everything has been fine until today. I don't know why or how, but ALL of my OPEN tabs (of which I have many--and have it fixed so they always re-open when Firefox starts), ALL went away.

In reading conventional steps to recover such from sessionstore-backups, those instructions sounded straightforward. However, even though ALL FIREFOX PROCESSES were ended, I could not copy the contents of the sessionstore-backups folder nor could I delete anything--EVEN THOUGH I am the owner.

Even after providing Admin perms.

I could get rid of profiles.ini, which initially proved diasterous, because then Firefox thought I was brand new, so ALL of my passwords saved through Firefox these many years, went "poof".

Fortunately, I was able to get that back, but I still cannot get all of my tabs back, and conventional instructions to do so aren't working.

After recovering from my heart attack for initially losing my passwords, I am breathing a little better right now, but it sure would be nice to get all of my open tabs back again. I don't know why I am not able to manipulate the files within sessionstore-backups. I think if I could eliminate the files in that folder EXCEPT for upgrade.jsonlz4-20251027123126, which possesses a 10/29/25 date, these should be the open tabs just before the 144.0.2 installation, and all should be right with the world, once more.

I have performed/examined many steps offered under this category, but most assume I can copy them elsewhere for safe-keeping and/or removing all but the one I want Firefox to "use". Because something is preventing me from doing this, though, I am being stymied in what ought to be the solution. As a test, I was able to copy files from a much older profile--so I can prove the basic steps SHOULD HAVE worked. Unfortunately, I cannot do the same with THE (more recent) folder in question. I can't get rid of parent.lock, either (and I have ensured no Firefox processes are running via Task Manager).

Repeatedly.

Something else is at work, here. Any help or assistance from community experts would be most helpful.

Firefox always auto-fills in the wrong phone number. But I can't find a setting that contains my phone number. How do I change my phone number that Firefox auto-fills?

Since a few days, Firefox started crashing each time I receive a notification.

For example, with this notifications test website: https://www.bennish.net/web-notifications.html

Each time I click on the "Show" button to display a notification, Firefox becomes completely unresponsive: the content of the window is completely frozen and I can't click on anything. I must close it and restart it to make it work again. When I restart it, a dialog displays:

> Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window.

In both applications, the notification is never shown: the freeze occurs before.

I tried the following changes but they did not stop the issue from occuring:

- Deactivating hardware acceleration - Troubleshooting mode - Deactivating firefox notifications in Windows - Deactivating `alerts.useSystemBackend` and `alerts.useSystemBackend.windows.notificationserver.enabled` in `about:config`

At the same time, I noticed that Thunderbird (v144.0.1, 64bits) started having the same issue. It haappens each time I receive a new message in the background and a notification should appear. Maybe this is related?

Problem: Cannot clear history from Firefix Started with Menu and clear recent history. Looked everyplace there was information about history. Tried removing individual entries. Ran Malwarebytes. Dell XPS 8960 with Windows 11 less than one year old. No response with any steps I take. Also, there are no error messages. I am unable to clear history no matter which tools I use. No error messages. All the suggestions I tried had no effect. Used Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox.

Oddly, I tried my older Dell Inspiron 3650, with Windows 10, and clear history works like it should. 

Used Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox. So far, all the advice goes down the same path; history, clean recent history, manage history, etc.. Tried refreshing and today I deleted Firefox app and reloaded. No improvement. I was resetting my password entered my email code recovery key it didn't ask for my authenticator got an error invalid token then after retrying it asked for email and authenticator but not the recovery key the account now says I have no key

Yritä myöhemmin uudelleen." A quick and dirty translation is: "We cannot execute your request right now. Try again later".

This is an everlasting problem. But try the exactly same link on Chrome or Edge, and it works fine.

This falls under: Accesibility, or passswords, or privacy & security... Or, this fumbducker shosn't doe nit. Anyhow, if you've more smarts and knowledge than me, I need to solve the above mentioned problem. Many thanks.

On Windows 10 with 64-bit Firefox, after updating from version 144 to 145, some local HTTP-only servers stopped working and became inaccessible. When I enter http://<local server name>, after a few seconds it automatically changes to https://<local server name>, and since no HTTPS service is running, it ends with a “Server not found” page. It seems to be related to DNS — accessing http://<IP address> works fine.

I tried a clean installation with a new user profile, but it didn’t help. Downgrading to version 144 fixes the problem, but at the cost of losing the user profile (which is a disaster). I also tried to check the HTTP-only settings (which I’ve never modified), but that didn’t help either.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Bonjour, je ne peux plus me connecter à ma boite mail hotmail.com depuis la version 144.0.2 (64bits) de Firefox Je suis avec Windows 11 famille 64 bits - 24H2 et 25H2 (j'ai essayé avec les 2 versions) avec un compte local. Je choisis de me connecter avec un mot de passe et après avoir validé le mot de passe, j'arrive sur une page qui me dit d'utiliser un autre appareil ou une autre méthode de connexion. Je joins les fenêtres de connexion étape par étape Avec Google Chrome (que je ne veux pas utiliser), je me connecte sans problème à ma boite mail avec les même étapes décrites ci-dessus.
