I do not want any search suggestions.

Under the heading of Search Suggestions on the setting page there is the option to Provide Search Selections. I have deselected that option.

The problem is that the selection underneath labeled "show search suggestions ahead of browsing history in address bar results" auto populates and I cannot deselect it - resulting in my getting a recommendation for something that is not in my bookmarks - I have selected my bookmarks in the Search Shortcuts box.

Can you please make this stop?

I've been using Firefox for a long time, but suddenly today i can no longer hear the videos on JW.org I want to play? the volume is 'up' but sometimes the picture disappears\ I checked the same page on Safari and it worked fine, but I cannot get Firefox to play the audio files or video? How can I fix please?

I'm having an issue when saving bookmarks, I'll find a nice recipe, save it to my recipe folder, little blue star will show on the page showing its bookmarked but when I go to the folder, it's nowhere to be seen. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, it use to work just fine before.

Hey, I switched from Windows to Mac and see a different behaviour in how cookies in private mode are handled. On Windows closing a private window clears everything, especially it logged me out from all websited I logged in in this private session.

Not on Mac I am still logged in in private windows after I close and reopen a new one. Also the zoom level ist kept.

Is this a bug or intended behavior having a private window that keeps all my logins in new sessions? And why is it different on Windows and Mac?

After removing other elements, I'm left with a map, which I was able to expand to the top and sides, but not the bottom area.

Just updated (7 August). Now:

Everything (and I mean everything) is going at Tortoise speed Laptop crashed Laptop rebooted - blanked screen Rebooted, wait 5 minutes for task bar population Select icon, wait to open Give up, try another

Click on a filename - wait 30 seconds - nothing happens, check Task Manager, wait 1/2 minute for that to open Open Explorer - "Not responding" , go to anything else "Not responding" "Save" - "Not responding"

I daren't backup as it would take a week at this rate

Can you tell me how to reverse please please please. It was all good until yesterday

When I am leaving the browser idle for long periods, I get crashes.

After the extended release was installed, did the 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' setting revert back to the default setting 'or' did the 'pre-selected setting' remain the same as before the update?

Hello, I am trying to print labels from the web on a Dymo labelmaker. When I select no margins it prints on far left of label and cutting part of the text off. When I choose custom margins it prints very small and does not change regardless if I change the margins to 0 or change the size to 200%. When I print it in chrome it works perfectly fine.

/edit: removed space before "I am" to removed horizontal scroll bar.

When I go to youtube from firefox the page is WAY to large for the screen. This started last week. I can't figure out anyway to get the old screen back. Today I tried going to youtube from google and everything worked normally. How can I fix this? I wasn't doing anything in firefox to try to manipulate youtube. It just started misbehaving on its own. HELP, I don't want to need to use google.

(menu bar) Firefox > Preferences I see this in hundreds of links for help. But it does NOT exist. Please do NOT tell me to go to menu bar and click on Firefox. It is NOT there. It just is NOT there. There is no tab, link, drop down or ANY thing that says Firefox. There is no tab, link, drop down or ANY thing that says Preferences. The menu bar is there. File Edit History Bookmarks Tools Help. But NO Firefox and NO preferences. I want my page to show the |||\ at the top. But I do not want the bookmarks tool bar at the top. I do NOT want Picture in Picture to show at the top. I do not want the bookmark star to show inside the url. Where and how do I fix these things???

Earlier today (well, it's yesterday now) Firefox was updated to 116 and since then it won't download any images or other files from anywhere. I've set a default download directory and when I click "Save image as...", that image should appear in the preset directory but it doesn't. I have two extensions for downloading images and they work just fine, only the default function of firefox doesn't work. Here's a short video showing the problem:

I tried downgrading Firefox to 115.0.3 but that didn't fix the problem and I'm out of ideas how to fix it. I'm 100% sure it's a firefox problem bc I tried saving images with Opera and Chromium and there was not a single problem with that task in either of these browsers.

I am unable to access a large number of sites, including TV replays, as they say I have ad blockers on. I have checked how to remove them but they are not there. I use Duck duck go - is that the problem? Someone suggested using Edge but I don't want to. I tried briefly but it still didn't work and then I had to struggle to remove Edge.

I got a new computer recently and downloaded firefox. I'm the kind of person that has hundreds of tabs open, so my tabs are always full. I noticed that whenever I'm on a site, and I click a bunch of links (for example when you google stuff and you open a few results at once), the tab bar doesn't move. Previously if the number of tabs I open exceed the existing ones on screen, it will just push them to the right, out of sight. Only the newly open tabs will be visible. If I open enough to cover the whole bar, the ones on the left will just get covered while new ones on the right will be visible. The new pc is just, it doesn't move. If I'm on the tab on the furthest right and I open a link in a new tab, the arrow button just flashes blue for a second but it doesn't SHOW me the tab, granting me access. I'd have to scroll the tab bar to find it. I'm not talking about switching to the newly opened tab. Sorry if my explanation is bad but is there any way to make it like the way it was before?

Just to preface I have already tried looking for a similar issue in support and most of the answers are like "just make sure to not be in private browsing" but I am sure that I am not and my extensions are all allowed in private browsing anyways. I also know this is not a theme issue as after I removed ublock origin and re-added it to firefox the extension icon showed up in the menu just like usual, but I do not want to do this for every single extension as I have a large amount and I am worried about personal settings that I have saved being undone. In the past I have used this same firefox setup without any of these issues whatsoever and without changing any settings since then.

The main issue is that when I click the extensions menu toolbar icon (the puzzle piece) it only takes me to about:addons. On this page I can confirm all my extensions are there, and I know that they are working, due to things like ads still being blocked from ublock origin or tracking links being blocked from clearURLs. However there is no icon for them after clicking/right clicking the the extensions puzzle piece, or when using the "customize toolbar" feature, or in the overflow menu, or in any other possible place. I have also tried telling the toolbar to reset to default and this does not help. Since the puzzle piece icon never shows me a menu, there is no way to right-click an extension and get the menu option to "pin to toolbar" as this option can't be found in the about:addons page as far as I have found.

Is there any way to fix this beyond just re-adding every single one of my extensions?

I have been trying to use the extension "Sidebery" to replace "Tree Style Tab"

If my tabs are nested, bookmarking the tab tree will give me nested folder structure in firefox's bookmark.

If I right click on the top level folder in the bookmark, select "open all in tabs", firefox will only open those bookmarks in the 1st level folder, but won't open those bookmarks in the nested folders.

I wonder is there a way to do it? That is, open all bookmarks in a folder with those in the nested folder, all at once?

Recently, my FireFox has been acting a bit strange when it comes to playing videos. I am using a site called Udemy to watch a video course I'm taking, however, the videos don't seem to play for either a long time, or until I tab into YouTube and play a video there.

This issue is not only with Udemy however, as the YouTube videos also take longer than normal to start playing; It's not only at the start of the video either (whilst waiting for the video to fully load), It's all the time, between every pause I have to wait around 3-4 seconds before It actually start playing.

The issue is clearly something to do with videos but I find it very strange that playing a YouTube video forces my Udemy video to load.

It's been a real struggle trying to get todays course day done, since every time I pause the video I end up having to wait a while or go to YouTube and play a video to make it continue.

I've gone through all the basic troubleshooting recommended for video issues on here and other places: Turn of hardware encoding, lower security levels, enabling autoplay etc etc; absolutely no luck. I've tried disabling extensions one by one, disabling themes, running FireFox in troubleshoot mode, clearing all data/history/cookies/cache, making sure DRM-controlled content is enabled as well as trying it disabled. You name it, I feel like I've tried it at this point... Any suggestions are highly appreciated!

Another thing to add is Chrome isn't having this issue, neither is Safari.
