I'll be blunt...: the new Nova interface is impractical, uncomfortable to use, and I find it genuinely hard to stomach. On a touchscreen, hitting the right tab has become a struggle. With a mouse it is no better — there are now dead grey zones where a click simply does nothing at all. This is not a matter of taste. This is a measurable usability regression, and it shipped to everyone by default. I am not alone in this. The same complaints are all over the forum, and my own students were furious when their terminals updated and everything suddenly turned round. These are people who use this browser for work every single day. For them the update brought nothing but lost time. We like Firefox. We want to keep using it. That is exactly why this is so infuriating: a browser we chose for its control and configurability is now imposing a design decision on us with no way out.

If nothing changes, we will solve it ourselves — with a patch that suppresses update notifications and adds a "Manual update" option to the settings, so that people have a CHOICE and can keep working in the good old rectangular Firefox UI instead of having someone's "brilliant" idea forced on them. I would much rather you simply gave us that choice yourselves.

Please restore a usable, compact, rectangular tab style as a supported option, and fix the dead click zones.

I can't find a line to add widgets in my settings. It doesn't exist! I've read several articles as to how to add widgets, but then when I went to look for them in settings, there's no line or box to check for widgets. I have Windows 11 and allow all updates from Firefox, so do you know what the problem is? I do have the weather widget, which was added a while ago, so most likely with an update, but no other widgets on my homepage or in the settings page.

I absolutely hate the new chromelike tab and address bar shapes (rounded, smaller). Whole reason I'm here is because I despise chrome. Is there any way to revert them to be larger and rectangular again, either through an add-on or in settings?

I hate the purple color on the buttons. How do I change it? I am not impressed with Firefox's appearance changes. I don't want to spend hours exploring themes and extensions and add-ons. I just want to change the color on the buttons. I just want black, white, and shades of gray.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE UPDATE THE UI TO GET RID OF THE NEW GRADIENTS ON THE TAB BAR. I DO NOT NEED AN OUTLINE ON THE CURRENT TAB EITHER. AS SOMEONE WHO'S DISABLED, IT'S INCREDIBLY DISTRACTING AND NOT HAVING ANY THEME PREMADE TO GET RID OF IT IS MAKING IT HARD TO USE FIREFOX. I WILL HAVE TO SWITCH TO ANOTHER BROWSER UNTIL IT IS FIXED.

Note to firefox I.T. - I am not going to waste anymore time trying to get all this purple that was version 157 update. Get rid of the purple soon or I'll uninstall firefox. Microsoft Edhe is already on the computer and is raring to go.

I really don't like the purple used in the settings pages. I changed my overall theme to Proton-which I like, however, it didn't make any changes to the purple and I really don't like the other themes. Some users may like the purple-I don't. There needs to be a way just to change the purple to something more pleasing.

Hello, thanks for allowing me to ask a question. I would like to know how to change the Primary Accent color in Mozilla Nightly to a mid grey color. Even when I try new themes, the funky Pink/Purple highlight is present. Where is it getting this and how can it be modified. I've read the help pages, and have even had info sent, and that's rather confusing because I've changed the userContent.css and userChrome.css files as the pages I've ready advises. Again it's confusing and it doesn't seem to work. I've even set the toolbar legacy to true in the config:about settings. Nothing seems to work and it's frustrating.

I'm not sure what combination of keys I accidentally pressed but now the font in my menus (main, contextual, sidebar, bookmarks, etc.) is so tiny. How can I fix this?

The new update changed the Dark Mode Theme to include a color gradient on the tab row. This is quite distracting an I would like to know how to revert back to the plain, non color gradient Dark Mode Theme prior to the update.

How do i revert the new graphical interface? I do not like the new rounded corners and the new themes that are shoved down our throat.

Why does mozilla like to do this to us ?

I had to find and download firefox 156. BUT Because 157 already installed itself in the bg, it also updated the user PROFILE which OFCOURSE it is not recognised by previous vers 156. Its corrupted by 157 and wont work with 156.

After 2 h of messing around with installs and profiles i COULDNT MAKE IT WORK. And now i have to watch this stupid UNPROFESIONAL GUI and i had to make an account on the forums to post this and try anbd find a way around and ofcourse i did because theres smarter ppl out there than those who work at mozilla. ( im reffering to the sollution with the browser.nova.disabled)

I've searched & waited past few years for an Extension to make the TOOLBAR FONTS larger, none found. Reason being many of us are using larger monitors and TV's and we're usually sitting or standing further away from the screen. Problem is the font size cannot be changed, they stay small and hard to read comfortably. __YES I've reset my operating systems font size, that does not work in Firefox TOOLBARS. __Changing the "firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer" has been eliminated by Firefox. __Changing the "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx" to a larger number increases the whole TOOLBAR. I just want the FONT size larger. __(someone suggested) NO, I'm not going to setup 2 monitors.

Sure would like this issue fixed. In the pix below, it has been done.
