About a week ago, I started using VPN Beta, and it worked fine. When I clicked the button at the top of the browser, it prompted me to sign in. I signed in, and the VPN turned on, and everything worked. Now, when I clicked the button, it redirected me to a website that wouldn't load, I received this message: System unavailable, try again soon. Error code: 86392ec4d5b44df682a578382bd577b2 on the website https://accounts.firefox.com/?context=oauth_webchannel_v1&entrypoint=vpn_integration_panel&action=email&service=vpn&utm_campaign=fx-vpn&utm_medium=firefox-desktop&utm_source=panel&client_id=5882386c6d801776&response_type=code&access_type=offline&scope=https%3A%2F%2Fidentity.mozilla.com%2Fapps%2Foldsync+profile&state=AZ9GKJOVbX4urXTTlaWwJQ&code_challenge=yE-5JozI-ax83Z4z_p-I703-V8av0Fnb0AKLSTM23Gs&code_challenge_method=S256&keys_jwk=eyJjcnYiOiJQLTI1NiIsImV4dCI6dHJ1ZSwia2V5X29wcyI6W10sImt0eSI6IkVDIiwieCI6IlVidDY0c1pESUQzYjRZa2MtSVpkdkR3b1VLbHVFYXA2SU8wY19SNjdCTWMiLCJ5IjoiTDFUUjNOQmprQUxKb2JveHNPY0Nnb2dXZUZEektnV1FJTlBMdkEtbTEtcyJ9. Incidentally, it kept asking me to sign in, even though I wasn't using private windows or anything. So, I had to restart VPN Beta every time, even though I'd already done so. Basically, now I can't even start. They're trying to block such services in Russia, and apparently your site, mozilla.org, was caught in the crossfire, and I don't know what to do. Your built-in VPN was convenient enough that I could just turn it on for a few seconds to access a blocked site, rather than mess around with VPN clients. Perhaps if my Mozilla account never crashed and I didn't have to log in every time, this problem wouldn't exist, and I could activate the VPN right away, without logging in through a blocked site, since I'm sure the server itself is working. Maybe this can be done through the settings somehow? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Currently Mozilla VPN's website settings allow you to exclude certain websites from VPN use, but they don't allow you to INCLUDE certain websites in the VPN when it's turned off. This feature would be very useful for me, since I only need the VPN for a small number of websites and don't need it on all the time. Please consider adding it if possible!

I am really excited by the possibility of a built in VPN on Firefox.

However I logged in to UK BBC Channel 5 and tried to view a programme,

I was able to browse content but as soon as I pressed Play for the first series of the drama the provider picked up that I was using a VPN and shut me down.

Is this a teething problem ans will it likely be fixed?

I have had quite a bit of difficulty getting Firefox VPN working. I just now got it working because of an article I found on Gizmodo.

Setting browser.ipprotection.enabled to true fixed the problem of the VPN button not showing up immediately.

I am just wondering if there is a way this could have been done through normal Firefox settings, whether this could be added to the Firefox help documents on this subject (I could not find them, but it already may be there.), and whether this could have any other harmful security effects since I got this from a non-Mozilla source.

Thank You!

Hello!

I use Nightly 154.0a1 (2026-07-10) (64-bit) on Windows 11. I'm trying new VPN feature from study and the VPN itself is working, but the location setting is completely broken. I have only two options for location Recommended and United States. Whenever I choose United States, nothing changes and my IP is always from subset of CIDR 63.245.208.0/20 which is geolocated in London, UK. I tried multiple IP addresses (by restarting VPN) and all of them are geolocated in London. Running traceroute also suggest that all of them which I get are located in the UK. Is there a way to fix this?
