Since the last update (V. 148.0 ) the translation button in the search bar has gone. I have checked settings there is nothing and there is no translation option in thew hamburger menu. What have you done !!!

When I write emails or whatsapp messages Firefox signals as false all the words that don't conform English orthography. I would like to switch language either automatically or quickly. What do I have to do?

Podobno ma się ona pokazywać automatycznie gdy Firefox wykryje stronę w języku innym niż ustawiony jako domyślny język interfejsu i komunikatów - nie pokazuje się automatycznie, lub Firefox nie wykrywa języka w jakim wyświetla się strona. Za to - w "hamburgerze" (przycisku Ustawień w górnym prawym rogu) pojawiła się opcja "Przetłumacz stronę" - 1 kliknięcie "hamburger", 2 kliknięcie "przetłumacz stronę", 3 kliknięcie - potwierdź polecenie przetłumaczenia strony .... bez sensu !!! Zamiast jednego kliknięcia w ikonkę na pasku adresu !

Żadne to ułatwienie, czy polepszenie komfortu użytkowania przeglądarki - powinno to być poprawione natychmiast i wrócić do poprzedniej formy ikonki wyświetlanej właśnie na pasku adresu !

I don't know why, but when I browse pages in English, the context menu offers to "translate selection into Hebrew". This is weird and totally unwanted. I don't know how FF decided that I need translations, and specifically to Hebrew!

In the settings, my preferred language is "English (US)". In "translation settings", the list of "Translation will happen automatically for the following languages" is empty, and the list of "Translation will not be offered for the following languages" has Hebrew and French. (I would add English but I don't see how.)

Is there a way to just remove this translation option from the context menu?

Firefox 139.0.1 on W11

When I open a page in a foreign language, such as English in my case, I don’t have access to a translation module. Yet this feature exists in Firefox, but I don’t understand why the translation isn’t being offered.

When I search for "Translation" in the Settings, I do find this translation module. I’ve downloaded all the languages and restarted my browser.

When I click on the Settings button for this module (see screenshot), in the section “Translations will be done automatically for the following languages,” I can't add any language there.

Despite this, when I go back to a web page in a foreign language, like a news article in English, I still don’t see the translation icon in the address bar.

Can you help me resolve this issue? Can I provide any additional information to help?

1. The browser's built-in full page translation function has poor translation performance, even far lower than other browser functions.

2. The font modification in the settings cannot take effect on the translated page font. For example, when opening a literature page (Elsevier) and clicking on the built-in full page translation, the font does not change.

3. When the page becomes a fixed tab, the prompts before closing multiple tabs will become invalid, and clicking the close button will close all tabs without prompts.

It should be pointed out that the loading speed of this browser is very fast. I feel that using this browser fully utilizes the performance of my computer, rather than some browsers that use a new era CPU and GPU, but the loading speed is the same as more than a decade ago. In addition, this browser has highly personalized features that meet my needs. It would be even better if the above issues could be resolved.

Hello! Why do I get all of the Tools Menu in english when I've chosen Norsk Bokmål as standard language for my use at sites/streaming etc. What is the purpose of selecting the desired language if the tool options are only displayed in English?

My set homepage on Firefox was in English and has now switched to Spanish. Nothing I do will allow me to change to the English version. I have searched using different engines but every time I pick the English version of the MSN news website after clicking on the link it comes up in Spanish.

Oddly, if I pull up the Firefox private browser it comes up as the English version as it shows in my homepage settings. Any idea on what is going on?

For example, the word thema, is exclusively capitalized in German, and it shows as error indeed when lowercase, but the capitalized one is not offered in the options. Why is that and how to fix it?

Also, is there a way to autocorrect capitalization for example?

Is there a setting to always show the translation icon in the Firefox desktop address bar?

1. Scenario

I'm visiting a website that is not in my native language. For example, I natively speak English, and the website contains Spanish text.

The Spanish website incorrectly sets lang="en" in the HTML. Here's an example: https://animalessinhogar.com.uy/

My browser's default language is set to US English. When Firefox sees the Spanish webpage declaring the lang="en" tag, it assumes the webpage is in English, and hides the translation icon from the address bar.

1. Issue

The end result is I see this website in Spanish, there's no translation icon in the address bar, and also no way to force a full page translation. The best I can do is select parts of the text, right click, and ask for "Translation Selection to English". This gets very tedious, especially when I have automatic translations for Spanish websites already turned on (browser.translations.alwaysTranslateLanguages = es).

1. Proposed solution

To work around these websites which mis-declare their language, is there a way to always show the translation icon in the address bar?

I had also thought of removing my browser's default language, so that the translation icon would always appear on every webpage. However, that would mean that websites that present different versions based on browser language wouldn't display my native language at first, or might not work at all? So this seems like a less good solution.

Have new W11 laptop. Installed Firefox and have set it to my default browser but if I use the search box it opens the results in Edge. Where is the setting to enable W11 search box to use Firefox.

I was previously successfully using the translate selection with the translate dialog automatically detecting the language of the selected text. Then, with that dialog open, I tried changing the from/to language - you know, just messing around - and now it refuses to automatically detect the language. It is now stuck on Tranlate to French. I've checked my settings page and my default language is English. Where is it getting the idea I'm French? Annoying af.

How can I get the automatic language selection to English as it previously was?

NOTE: As I was composing this request, I visited the Amazon store - as that's where I use the feature most - and noticed it's probably the tool itself that's broken recently as it was getting it right all the time before but now it's hit or miss. Again, annoying af especially because I've come to rely on this a lot. Please fix.

I have a Mac desktop running Seqouia 15.1.1, and I'm using Firefox, primarily.

Inside LinkedIn, the "see more" link is missing in people's profile sections. I can;t expand any of these sections to read them in full.

They are present in Chrome. They are present on my iPhone.

I've reset everything I can think of but nothing impacts it. Also, this is a fairly new problem. So, something updated that caused this but Idk what.

Dlaczego zawsze gdy chcę przetłumaczyć stronę pokazują mi się -tłumaczenie z język polski na język perski? Zawsze muszę wprowadzać, że chcę przetłumaczyć z język angielski na polski na przykład. Nie wiem jak mogę to zmienić by móc szybciej przetłumaczyć konkretną stronę? Skąd zawsze pokazuje się ten język perski. Chcę by zawsze wskazywało mi,że chcę przetłumaczyć np z język angielski na polski i nie potzebuję ustawiać, by wszystkie strony tłumaczyły się na język polski. I installed Firefox on my M4 Mac and it was in English, now it's in some other langue and I can't change it back. I deleted it, and reinstalled, same issue.

I cannot get it installed in English and have it remain in English. Please help.
