I have created a couple of small pages that i have embedded into another web site. The embedded pages wont display on that site in FireFox but works on Chrome with no problem. How can I fix this so others on FireFox can view these embedded pages? I didn't know it couldn't be displayed until tonight and I have been looking for a fix since I was told. Some may see a solid white box and others see a grey box with a plugin is needed to view this content. However, if I view the pages I created on the server they work fine in FireFox. Just not when embedded into another web site. I'm stumped...

This is not a simple question to ask and is not very easy to explain. But I shall try.

I am running a program suite called "Node-Red" on another machine. Access is done via the "web". (http). Usually you just enter the IP address and you are into the edit screen. This is obviously not a good idea on a machine exposed to the net. So, you activate security settings. (See a bit later)

I am using Firefox as my main browser and I have activated security settings in Node-Red. Subsequently I can't log in. BUT! Other browsers can. (From other people) I have tried it and seen it once work. Sorry but that's all I have at this time. The information attached about my system is unedited, because as I said: I don't know what is needed at this stage.

I can get the "name" entered, but every time I click on the Password field, the cursor jumps back to the name field.

(Documents for what I am doing) https://nodered.org/docs/security.html

See attached image for what I see in FF. Please forgive the red arrows. I was talking to the Node-Red people about it also. "Luckily" someone else is having problems when using FireFox. But they can if they use another browser - as stated.

I don't know exactly what information (at this time) is needed. Alas it may require someone in here to install Node-Red and try it them selves.

I also appreciate that is a big ask. But it would seem I am not the only person with this problem and someone else has recently posted that they have the same problem.

What further complicated me asking here is I have a couple of other programs installed for password management and I had to go through the process of eliminating them.

So I am now at the point where it is pointing to FireFox and it not playing the game.

Thanks in advance for any help in resolving the problem.

I'm not sure why, but several users in my company had Firefox blow up first thing in the morning. I suspect an issue with the Firefox App Data profile, but it is uncertain if anything was wrong with the profile itself, something that saved in the profile after the fact, or something in tandem caused Firefox to crash.

We operate only in a Windows environment. Our version we current deploy via GPO is 40.0. We only update Firefox if our software development team recommends an upgrade to address compatibility issues with our internal websites, and we have used this version since October 2015. We duplicate the App Data profile into the hidden Default User directory so the profile clone is mapped to anyone logging into the computer for the first time. We've essentially been using the same profile since version 28.0, and only making minor updates in the configuration settings without any refreshing form Firefox.

When the crashing began, our users either stated Firefox would either continuously load or have the plugin container report a problem and crash. Restarting computers, testing Firefox in Safe Mode, choosing the Firefox Refresh option, and clearing Internet cache didn't help, but testing Firefox as an admin account worked without any issues. I did notice most users showed an available update for software, such as Adobe Reader or Java, but there were a few that didn't have anything pending. If I uninstalled the pending software for those that had it, Firefox would work until I reinstalled the same software. Reinstalling Firefox didn't work either. If I either have Firefox rebuild the profile or I revert to our default clone profile, the issue goes away.

Everything had been working just fine for users last week, and we did not push any software or updates to computers over the weekend. My guess: something had been cached in the profile folder that expired after 'x' amount of time and caused problems across the board. Am I on the right track? Is there something else we should be or not be doing in this scenario to avoid this sort of problem? This is the first major issue where I had to access each computer and resolve the issue on a per user basis.

I can provide any other information that might be helpful. I have backups of the problematic profiles if reviewing those would be helpful, but my attempts to recreate the scenario with those same profiles have so far been uneventful. Also any other advice for managing and deploying Firefox in a corporate environment would be helpful. Our setup had been working great up until today. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm seeing a really weird issue - https://rs2018.raffworks.com/ - on Firefox PC only, after opening a couple of the items up, the scrollbar completely stops working. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Firefox on macOS is fine.

My company uses Citrix XenApp 6.5. Sometimes, when a user launches Firefox, nothing happens on the thin client. And the main Firefox process uses around 100% of one server core. I have to kill these processes. We are using Firefox version 56.0.0.6478 32-bit. The thread using the most CPU has a start address of firefox.exe+0x630b. Its stack is below. Firefox is running on Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. This issue seems related to the 56 release because it just started for us in the last week. I do not believe anyone is using Firefox add-ons in Citrix. The command in our application shortcut is below. I cannot replicate the issue. This seems to affect about one in ten instances. Once the issue starts happening for a person, it seems to consistently occur for them. For one person having this issue, renaming their cache folder helped: %localappdata%\Mozilla I have not tried this remedy in every case.

Programming in PHP. kind of a form (actually it is not a form but it uses form elements - js is used to submit.) When submitting, data is stored in session variable, and the page is reloaded, same form is shown, with data modified (formattet different). This shows data the way the user typed them - not the way PHP formats them.

Useless.

And yes, I have verified, with a different display section, that PHP is actually doing what it's supposed to - but firefox does not display data in input lines, the way they are programmed - they do not display the programmed value, but the value the user typed last time.

Likewise the web tool, does not show the actual sourcecode, but a modified version of it. Selecting "View Source" does not give the same source as "Inspect element"....

Since updating to 58.2 over 40 of my users are all expericing the same multiple issues.

Firefox always launches with "Sorry, We're having trouble getting your pages back." even when closing properly and having no other tabs open. (Setting the privacy options as custom and selecting "Clear history when Firefox closes" has solved this issue but it's not ideal for the workplace, users like to have their history.

Firefox is slow and sluggish and often freezes.

If you close firefox and try to launch it again a few seconds later then it wont launch because there's still a version in the background trying to close which can take up to 20 seconds.

The bookmarks toolbar is always hidden on launch. You have to right click and show toolbar to retrieve it everytime.

Because of these issues I've had to put everyone on chrome however I'd really like to get to the bottom of them all to revert back to Firefox.

Thanks

Hi There,

We have an issue with any version of Firefox after 57.04. It affects a few dozen of our users. It appears to be specific to our environment, but we need help tracking the source of the issue. The issue in on Windows 10 and Windows 2016 operating systems.

Firefox appears to update successfully, but when we attempt to run it the process appears in task manager using 2.5mb of ram. Nothing else happens. No visible errors, and no windows open. After killing the process we can run the 57.04 installer to revert, which results in a perfectly functional Firefox.

The issue seems to be specific to our environment, but not specific to hardware platform.

We have tried many things: -Various installers and update paths/methods -Safe Mode -Removing addons prior to upgrade -Clean uninstall/install (including deleting firefox profiles) -Disable and uninstalled AV softwares. -Disabled Group Policy Objects.

Please let us know what troubleshooting steps we can take to locate the source of the problem.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi. This is my first question here and a weird one too. So please bear with me.

My company has many individual servers, all running the same Java program with same environment. We have a download button to download some data. However, the download link "DOES NOT POINT DIRECTLY TO THE FILE LOCATION". Instead we take the request, process it, write the data to a file in server, then read that file to the requesting browser.

In ONE of our servers, after our firefox upgraded, we are experiencing the issue that the download is not happening anymore for versions >=39. Previous versions are able to download the file correctly. Same behavior is seen in IE-11.

What's more confusing is that other servers are behaving normally even with firefox 39 and beyond. Only with this one server I am getting this issue.

Based on FF39 changelogs, can this bug-fix have some role to play in the observed behavior ? "Fix incomplete downloads being marked as complete by detecting broken HTTP1.1 transfers"

Attached are 3 images: Image 1: When download clicked, received the popup immediately though expecting some delay because of data processing. This possibly indicates that FF39 is not receiving any data from the server.

Image 2: When FF39 is not able to download the file it gives the warning shown.

Image 3: Trying to re-download the file using download manager downloads the underlying XHTML file instead which is EXPECTED BEHAVIOR because download is not a direct link to the file as mentioned before.

PS: I understand I am not giving enough information because I don't know how to reproduce this issue. Any pointer in some direction is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Hi,

I know you have all seen this question before but none of the answers I have found work for me. My site loads perfectly fine in other browser, just not Firefox.

I have a local website with a style sheet that is saved in the same folder:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css" />

I have defined the character sets in the HTML and CSS documents:

HTML = CSS = @charset "UTF-8";

I have both the latest updates for Chrome, IE and Firefox as of today.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I've been building a website for the last 5 month for myself and it's quite intensive in code, especially with SVG animations and such.

I started coding in December of last year, and was using firefox as my base browser and everything was going smoothly. Until however March 13th when V52 of Firefox was released and my browser updated automatically. The site became extremely sluggish (Still functional) but nothing would animate on time. On average there would be 15-20 seconds delays on functions running.

I've had to switch to Chrome to continue my development of the website, but I am still determined to understand why my site no longer works in Firefox. I downloaded Firefox Version 51.0.1 to make sure the site works, and it runs smooth and as it suppose to.

Is it possible to send a link to one of your team developers to look into this further?

I would appreciate any help I can get.

Hi,

I use Firefox v590.0.2 (64 bits) with Windows 10.

I use Firefox at my work, only for browsing our intranet. I'm a web developer so I load many pages on our intranet. Since a few weeks, I noticed that the pages are not always loaded correctly: the page starts to be loaded, and then it stops and it's loading forever (with the "Waiting for XXX" message at the bottom left). If I refresh the page it will eventually load as expected.

I tried to install a new Firefox on *another* computer, and I use it to browse the same website. And the same behavior appears: it works very fast and well for some pages, and then randomly stops working for some random pages.

On my main computer I tried to create new profiles, delete everything, without success.

I also tried to deactivate the hardware acceleration on both Firefox, without success.

When I check the Network tab from the web developer bar, I can see that some CSS files (it's not always the same, and it can be 1 or several CSS files) are not loaded (see the attachment) and appears with a grey dot, just like if the browser was trying to load them but it cannot, blocking the page. (I've also noticed it could impact other resources, like, at least images)

Before v59 I've never seen this behavior.

Note :

 - our intranet is on Sharepoint, with NTLM auth
 - at home I use Firefox on my personal computer and it works normally (but I don't browser the work intranet)
 - at work, because it's on the intranet, the network doesn't go thru a proxy
 - I'm now using Chrome because of this issue with Firefox, and the problem doesn't occur in Chrome

Thanks for any help.

I am testing my own site. Where I need to log in with different User Accounts in order to check that aspect of IIS.

Firefox only allows me to log in with one account - visiting that site again just automatically logs in with that same account. It doesn't present me with the log in fields. And, of course, a browser doesn't have a 'log out' button does it?

I want to be presented with the log in fields each time I go there, so's I can log in as a different user.

So I found a thread here that was similar, talking about someone with the opposite problem - constantly being logged out. And the answer was in about:preferences and such. Well I couldn't follow that trail because about:preferences didn't bring up the options that thread talked about.

I suppose the answer is a cookies thing. I'd like to resolve this without having to delete all cookies. If I can.

edit: removed spaces before each paragraph which caused horizontal scroll-bars.

Experts,

We have an application developed in Java(Struts), in pages having tables with checkboxes to select/deselect rows.

Firefox version: 68.0.1(64-bit) Firefox Quantum and Regular Firefox as well

Issue Description: The click to the checkboxes do not work at all with latest Firefox versions, while they work seamlessly with older Firefox versions (52.0.2/32-bit and below, I have tested) or any other latest browsers(Chrome for example).

Please check the screenshots that shows how it looks in latest versions vs the same page in old versions:

We have tested this on Windows 10 and Mac OSs as well, and the issue remains the same with the latest Firefox versions. I came across similar(not exact) issues in the support forum but none of them were exact or even suggested any workaround / fix / rootcause.

Ask: Need to understand if something is broken in latest Firefox builds or is there any setting/extension that may bring backward compatibility. Please note that in other browsers, we don't see this problem.

Edit: Uploaded non-working snapshot.
