Hello.

I've just enabled browser.ssb.enabled and tried using it in a random website. So I noticed a few things, which I would like to confirm, and found an issue I would like some help with:

1) Is the SSB a different, clean profile?

2) Is there any way to enable specific add-ons in a specific SSB?

I had trouble with a cookies issue: the website requires logging in, but it opens a separate link in a new tab, and Firefox is opening that link as a regular new tab in my main window and not making any link between that new tab and the open SSB, so even after I successfully log-in, the SSB is clueless and remain un-logged. So:

3) Is there a way to solve that?

4) Is there a way I can list which addresses (domains, subdomains...) Firefox should include in an SSB (as opposed to opening in a new tab in the main window)?

5) Where can I find documentation on how 'Firefox as SSB' works, how to customize, etc.?

Thanks.

Due to a failure in another machine, I have had to use an older laptop I had not used for over a year. It had an older version of FF with TabMixPlus and other addons which I had come to rely on an treasure. Now, perhaps because I clicked on the wrong dektop icon, all that has gone. All sessions, all OneTab entries, and of course multi-row tabs, plus all the other TMP features such as a "Protect Tab" (NOT "pin tab") which now seems to be history. The continued refusal of Firefox to implement multi-row tabs is completely baffling. Perhaps they are all adherents of some religion that has a strong view on such decadence - it is almost the only possible explanation. There seems to be a tendency to vastly reduce the number of options present to a user, as if the attitude was a patronising "we know what's best for you - don't worry, all will be ok". Yes, yes, yes, I know that multi-row tabs can be had, for a price, and that price is an afternoon tweaking numerous machines in weird places and wondering is MrOtherGuy's work really is the best (or the worst - who knows?) implementation. No chance of a nice extension or feature to do all this, of course.

The whole thing is very dismaying. Life with FF used to be fun - it is now an endless hassle. Unless, of course, you forsake all and follow their way of doing things and confess that you were wrong all along, and that no sane person would ever want multi-row tabs.

I have a couple questions about the New Tab page:

    I can't figure out a way, or if it's possible to make my homepage be what a new tab opens up to. When I first launch Firefox, it goes to the page I specified in Options. But when I open a new tab, I have to click the home (shaped) icon to get there. Is there a way to do this in one click instead of two? This isn't a huge problem, but I seem to remember that I had that working in the past. Just wanted to see what the reality of this is.
  The main reason I'm here is because the New Tab page has finally gotten the better of me. I have 8 X 4 tiles on the New Tab page and quite a few of them are sites I only visited once or twice in the distant past (6 months to 9 or 12 or more). But my email site (which I visit far more frequently than all the others combined) comes and goes. One time, I thought it might be "just below the surface" and if I started deleting tiles it would come to the top. I spent a good 10 or 20 minutes deleting tiles but only even older sites would appear. Even if it can't be fixed, it would help my mental health to know that this is an actual known occurrence and not some elaborate cloak-and-dagger conspiracy to make me nuts! (am not actual conspiracy lunatic, just questionable sense of humor)

I'm a web developer and have come across a weird problem in Firefox 81.0.1 (and probably others). I have a website with a javascript function loading() and an image in the body with onclick="loading();". When I click on the image, nothing happens.... or rather, I get a "TypeError: loading is not a function". When I rename the function and the onclick to loadin, it will work correctly. Is loading some protected name in Firefox or is this a bug? This works fine in IE, Edge, iOS-Safari etc. It also works in Firefox on many other of my pages where the loading function is actually located in a linked js-file.

Want to replicate it? I went to https://www.w3schools.com/js/tryit.asp?filename=tryjs_myfirst and replaced the code on the left with the code further below and then clicked "Run". So, when I then click on the img_girl.jpg the div should appear, but it won't. After renaming to loadin and clicking on "Run" again it will work.

Here's the code:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
 	function loading() {
 		var loading = document.getElementById('loading');
 		loading.className = 'ld-visible';
 		loading.style.top = loading.offsetTop + document.body.scrollTop;
 		loading.style.left = loading.offsetLeft + document.body.scrollLeft;
 	}
</script>
<style type="text/css">
div.ld-invisible {
	display:none;
}

div.ld-visible {
	display:block; position:absolute; top:20%; left:30%; width:250px; height:150px;
	text-align:center; vertical-align:middle; background:#ccf; border:1px solid #99f;
}
</style>
</head>

<body>
<div id="loading" class="ld-invisible"><p><br><img src="../images/colorpicker.gif" border="0" alt="..." /></p></div>

<h2>My First JavaScript</h2>

<img src="../html/img_girl.jpg" border="0" onclick="loading();" />

</body>
</html>

media.autoplay.allow-extension-background-pages - false media.autoplay.block-event.enabled - true media.autoplay.block-webaudio - true media.autoplay.blocking_policy - 1 media.autoplay.default - 5

Can no longer block videos from loading. How to do this in 81.0.2?

Hi I have been using firefox and thunderbird on WINDOWS 8.1 for many years now. I have easily restored firefox and thunderbird profiles(bookmarks,passwords,themes,addons etc.) after periodic formats and reinstallations. But now I am planning to move to fresh install of WINDOWS 10. Will simple copying and pasting of profile folder work or should I use Sync? or any other option? I haven't used Sync till now,so a bit hesitant.

When I open all my bookmarks (I have over 200 tabs), the articles from getpocket tend to fail.

In previous versions of Firefox, when I opened a huge number of tabs, the CPU would max out even after waiting several hours.

I installed Peter Simonyi's addon which opens tabs slowly and it works, but this addon is not actively monitored by Firefox.

When the latest version of Firefox came out, I was really happy because the 100% CPU problem went away, but to my dismay most of the getpocket articles failed to load.
