I closed all my tabs and reopened the browser bc I was getting lag on sites like X.com when typing my messages. Immediately after opening Firefox again, my homepage, MSN.com was loaded. I tried to click on the arrow to scroll through the different headline stories and nothing happened. I used Chrome & Opera to load the same page and they work fine. This seems like a Firefox thing. I have no extensions or permissions that deny me the right to click on anything. What is the problem?

When I clicked troubleshooting mode FF unexpectedly closed my Private browsing session and all the tabs. How do I reopen them?

I did not expect FF to close on me like that. I thought that as I was in a private browsing session FF would have warned me that it was about to close had it been necessary.

I'm guessing that my open tabs have been lost permanently because you didn't warn me and that all that time I spent is now wasted.

Life is really simple except that other people make it problematic.

Currently running 115.4.0esr, 64 bit... I have auto updates disabled via the json policy, yet every day I keep getting the warning about an update required and must go to download it... How can I disable the warning? It is annoying.

As well, while here in the forums, I did the "about firefox" thing to get the version and despite my settings, FF downloaded an update and wants me to restart to install it... what if I dont want it?

I get that you folks want to make things .... right... but there have been many changes that I am not fond of. Please respect my privacy and let me update by my own choice.

Thanks :)

Hello,

In Windows 10 and 11, Firefox's tab bar and other elements that may be transparent render in Windows 10 using some sort of uDWM method (speculation, I could be wrong?) rather than the traditional win32 window frame as you can see with the title bar toggled on. This leads to elements like the tab bar being black or white, depending on your theme unless you have specified otherwise in your chrome. Highlighted yellow below is my problem area.

In my CSS code, I am trying to extend the system color to be drawn to the tab bar (and in this instance, the address bar as well,) but I can't find any way to be able to do this. I have found forums that say to add -moz:appearance -moz-windows-glass, but this completely removes the window border and leaves the Firefox window unresponsive to controls. The only way to close it is if you close it through the taskbar or task manager.

Note that I am aware of .titlebar-color{color: AccentColorText; background-color: AccentColor}, but that's not what I am going for here. That still draws using Windows 10 modern UI. Windows 7 on ESR 115 or unofficially on 116 still draw with Windows Aero in all parts of this CSS code that are black (highligted yellow below.)

I can attach my CSS code if need be.

Thanks for any help!

I have spent the last TWO HOURS trying to find an answer to what should be a simple problem, and it seems not to exist!

I need to find out WHERE Firebird lists my email account PASSWORD.

I do NOT want to reset my password.

I simple need to know WHAT my password is, and since I set up the account [actually a few accounts] several years ago, my notes are evidently null and void, because none of those passwords seem to work.

My email is through verizon.net, which is one of the problems because they gave all of their email coltrol to AOL, which thouroughly sucks, and they seem not to have anyone who speaks fluent English who can assist me in FINDING the current password!

If ANYONE can help, it would be most greatly appreciated!!

Speed test on a freshly booted machine is 100/100Mbps ... very often after viewing a youtube video in Firefox, this Speed test can slow down to below 20Mbps which results in a poor streaming experience ... I have a 150/150 fiber connection and the modem speed test doesn't change ... nothing to do with anything downstream ... not running anything else except FF ... always running with the latest up to date version(s) ... things of note: the process count goes up when this occurs ... even if FF is restarted it doesn't resolve this issue ... only a reboot resolves the issue ... when rebooting there is always some UNKNOWN process that needs to be manually terminated before the reboot process runs.

I suspect one of the multilayered (FF appears to open multiple sessions with streaming) processes may be getting widowed and left running and not releasing resources which causes less and less bw to be available ... this appears to occur mostly if I either Fast Forward or try to click forward or backward on a stream timeline suggesting to me that the current timeline may not be closing properly ... process manager doesn't reveal any processes linked to firefox but there are numerous svchost processes which I expect may be involved

Are there other ways/tools to narrow down this issue so the Mozilla team might be able to fix this ... I use FF exclusively but this has become more and more of an annoyance.

My i7 2TB 2.6GHz 8GB laptop is unable to move beyond W7 64b pro but I have had the same experience on a W10 64b Pro machine so very skeptical that this is an OS related issue.

Ultimately if FF kept track of the PIDs it opens it should be able to force them to close if they refuse to close on their own. Kill Process tree ... or ... perhaps provide a log that is user accessible identifying opened PIDs so that a user could manually kill widow processes without having to reboot.

FireFox has been crashing for the past few weeks, that is not the biggest problem, but it also does that during a restore session. Which makes me lose everything I've been doing, the simplest solution I've found is reopening almost all of the tabs from last week, which is about 600 tabs that I then go through and get rid of what I don't need. That takes a lot of time, and my internet connection is not that good. which means that I will lose a large part of what I was working on the next time FireFox crashes during a restore session. Is there anything I can do to prevent Firefox from crashing?

My Norton virus detection software regularly finds viruses and Trojan horses in the directory: C:\program files\Mozilla Firefox Why?

It seem to happen after using Facebook or more often Craigslist. I tried putting a read only attribute on this directory, but it still happens.

Norton then requires a reboot. So it is a hassle.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?
