Since support is being discontinued for W7 Firefox, would someone please recommend the best version of Firefox for Windows 7? Security is not a concern, since I have reliable 3rd-Party security setup(s) for my Windows 7 systems.

Thanks!

Hi.

Is there a way to display a column in the bookmark manager (Ctrl+Shift+O) which would show in which folder each particular bookmark is?

Is there a way to search for bookmarks (in the bookmark manager or the bookmark sidebar (Ctrl+B)) by specifically excluding certain (bookmark) folders (e.g. MySessions, Save for Read Later, BSP2 trash folder, etc)?

If the above is not available, please kindly consider those ever since important features.

Thank you very much :)

I want to use a command option to open a new blank tab in a specified portable instance of Firefox using a specified profile.

I constructed my command like this:

"Path-to-Firefox-executable" -profile "Path-to-Profile" -new-tab "about:blank"

It partially works (it opens the correct instance of Firefox and uses the correct specified profile) however it always opens about:newtab instead of about:blank.

Seeing as I am specifying the exact page to open, any New Tab settings in the browser should not matter, and I should just get the page that has been specified in the command.

If I manually type about:blank into the url bar, then a blank page opens as expected, so the url is correct, it just won't work for me as part of the above command line.

Does anybody else have this issue? How can I get this to work correctly?

'Block Site' merely blocks access to a list of sites, but does not stop them appearing. is there a way to stop websites which use <gob.mx> in the address, which attempt to re-direct to 'mirror' sites that try to steal personal info and generate 'Illegal re-direct' warnings from anti-virus programs from appearing in firefox searches, automatically, rather than having to enter <XXXXXXX, -gob.mx> each time I search ?

I do not know when it happened but I just noticed it today. I have followed all trouble shooting steps; 1. Restart Computer 2. Open in Trouble shooting mode. 3. Uninstall Firefox. 4 Refresh Firefox. Nothing has worked. I took a screen shot and it is attached. When ever I open a new tab this symbol appears for a few seconds and then changes to the icon of what I am opening, G for google, H for HULU etc. I am worried that it is some type of Malware but none can be found on my system.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Windows 7 64 bit all service packages

Technical support/customer service and hordes of other baseline staff, supervisors and managers at the actual company have been contacted about this numerous times, however they only have 3 abilities 1 Research the Web/keyword a knowledgebase 2 Recite prerecorded A) answers to frequently asked questions B) explanations of company policy 3 Redirect to other departments admin levels agencies or companies all of which have the same 3 abilities so what some volunteers can do that are not engineers and not employees I don't know.

Maybe this is one reason why everybody is migrating to Chrome - that and the increasing number of websites that don't function in Firefox anymore regardless of the build.

This creates numerous stalemates all looping one back over the other over the other over the other like electrons in an atom and no resolution is forthcoming. Maybe this is why everybody is migrating to Chrome. That and so many websites don't work on Firefox anymore.

Right clicking to bring up the Developer Panel to e g erase i.e. paywalls and other similar annoyances and impediments to browsing (especially when they slow down and or crash the computer) however now the developer panel type and size is so huge you can't use it for the same purpose.

As stated above, the three normally recommended solutions have produced no results.

Windows 7 here due to our business depending on a large number of programs that i) have not been rewritten for Windows 10 ii) the Windows 7 versions don't run on Windows 10 including in a Windows 7 shell so the common redirect to upgrading the OS is not an option at this time.

Hi all,

I migrated from a very old Windows 7 system to a recent Windows 11 one. I'm using the most recent version of Firefox developer edition on the new version. To use my old settings, I copied my old profile folder to the new machine. Everything worked out fine, however, I still have the "incombatibility" badge on the menu panel (see screenshot). Is there any way to get rid of this?
