Lately, every time I turn on my computer, Google comes up as my browser. I believe that Avast, for which I have a paid subscription, is responsible for this hijacking. I have never used Google as a browser, nor do I wish to. I have to constantly maneuver to use Firefox. I am not omputer savy, so I need help.

1. How can I prevent this? 2. Is there a Federal Agency to complain to? 3. Is Firefox aware of this?

When I regularly clean out cookies, there is one that keeps showing up in spite of my trying to remove it. Info in that dialogue box says it has been with me for more than a week. Of course, I keep all regular Mozilla cookies, but this one is strange. It is 'about.ef2a7dd5-93bc-417f-a698-14c3116864f.' Can you tell me what this is?

When trying to log into my copy machine setup webpage i get this message

There is a very bothersome extension that affects streaming of shows on Paramount +. It keeps reinstalling itself without asking me, to I allow it. Im attaching a screenshot of the extension, including its author, etc.

My Kaiser website kp.org can't come up...the following error message:

"The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

   This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

I would like to stop the continual suggestion to update my password at login, yet be able to use the saved password at login.

Would you please add this fix?

Just about a week ago after my last Firefox upgrade, the browser started weirdly. The style, characters, boxes and bands were abnormally changing sizes. I tried using Firefox settings: Zoom all to no avail. I went into System display and did advanced scaling and it was of no help. I further went on System Restore and Resetting my computer and it was all the same.

I removed all add-ons, cleared both Firefox and the Systems Caches and carried malware clean up of my computer. I also carried out troubleshoot and the computer informed me there was no malware in the system using Windows Defender.

After carrying out any the above when I restart the computer all the values change to their abnormal values with very large Firefox Interface, the bands and spaces including the URL address bar appear abnormally large. When I use the mouse, sections of the browser moves all across the page uncontrollably. This happened for over a week. Hence I could not access my AOL email.

Though risky as you advised against, I had to download a lower version : 82.0.3 which appears to steadier and then managed to access my email and other apps, like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter(X), etc.

Within this period I had the same problem with my second preferred browser - Yandex. I contacted their Support Team and explained to them what was happening. They asked me to send screen short the problem. I took the screenshot and found out that in the Interface at the top the size was shown to to be 66%, but yet the band spaces and characters were abnormally large.

They wrote back thanking me with the advice to open browser://flags in their Yandex browser, and there disable "Enable 125% scaling factor" option by selecting "Disable". When I carried out their instruction, just like magic, the Yandex browser returned to normality.

Firefox, do you have such a function so as to advice me? You probably would have to get your developers into this matter. My honest opinion is that Firefox is rushing out hastily with upgrades. Hence the problems. On the Internet there are many complaints about the instability of Firefox.

I have spent hundreds of hours over the years trying to figure out how to hell to suggest words to the default firefox dictionaries. I don't mean weird words, words used constantly in scientific settings. It is infuriating. I am willing to take on this task if no one else is. How do I join the effort?!? I have 20 years experience at a fortune 500 company. Google is worthless these days.

i want to autoupdate firefox silently on a bunch of servers. When the mentioned settings are in place i'm still promted to update firefox when opening it. This isn't possible for the users as this is something a systemengineer should do. Is there anything i'm missing for a silent autoupdate? There is no JSON file in place. these settings have been distributed by a GPO.

Not sure how to explain this without the images... But I opened up YouTube just looking for some videos and uhhhhhh. I checked on other things in my computer to see if it's just my GPU or some weird graphic thing, but everything that isn't firefox seems to be working OK. It's not that terrible, I'm just really confused.

Why is this happening? And can I fix it? Started like... two minutes ago.

I am trying to download a large file. Am on a course, and the main tutor has given the group a file to download. Have tried downloading this 5 times, but get little luck. The file that I would want to download is 8.5GB, and the furthest I get is about 4GB.

I have 2 questions about this.

1) I seem to have a very 'in and out internet connection. It seems to go down at times for no reason, cutting off the download. Is there anything I could do about this? How could I troubleshoot this, please? 2) Does anybody know of any special tools that I can use to download in a more efficient manner, please? Almost every time I open Firefox it has changed my screen look, my preferences and my security settings. I'm lucky if my restoring lasts 2 days. For example; this morning I opened Firefox and all appeared to be OK. This is afternoon and Firefox has come up with a dark screen, changed preferences and altered my security settings. I've raised this subject before and I'm really tired of doing this. I favour Firefox because I like the relative independence of it, whereas MS and others seem to pry on everything one does. I also think MS is deceitful in that I cannot get back my MS Office (that I paid for) after a rebuild.
