I am attempting to disable the Recent Bookmarks section from the bookmarks menu in Firefox Windows version 111. The main solution that's been suggested in the past is to use about:config and change browser.bookmarks.showRecentlyBookmarked to false.

This setting appears to be ignored in my version as changing it has no affect.

Any other steps?

In the last 4 days Firefox is constantly freezing on the Tile Pages of multiple streaming sites. It becomes non-responsive, and won't let me reload or use the Home button. I have tried turning off hardware acceleration and clearing the cache and I still have the same issue.

I have not been able to log into www.mycigna.com account for the past week or so. I use DuckDuckGo as the search engine and never had this problem logging into my account before using Firefox. For the past week I have been getting this message when I submit my log in data - We're sorry but myCigna is unavailable at this time. Please contact our customer service for assistance. So, I called them today and spoke with a tech. I told him I used Firefox and DuckDuckGo and he advised me that others have had that problem using ddg as a search engine. He asked me to try to log in using a different browser and I was able to log in and access my account using Edge. So, I tried Firefox again after changing the search engine to Edge and still wasn't able to log in. Do you guys have any idea why I can't log in using Firefox anymore, or should I just continue to use Edge for that particular website? If you can help, please let me know. Thanks Larry

For the past three days I've been unable to get Firefox to load quickly as it used to before the last update. The last time this happened the problem was conflict with my security software System Mechanic. That problem was taken care of. This time I tried rebooting the computer, turning off all my add-ons, safe mode...nothing worked.

I'm using Win 10 64 bit. Can you help?

I've been noticing for a while that Youtube chapters were very hard to read if they were displaying over a white background. I thought this was just a Youtube issue but then I decided to boot up Edge and Brave to see if the issue still persisted. It doesn't. What happens in those browsers is that there is that the bottom part of the video is darkened just enough so that when the chapters are displayed there is enough contrast to read them. In Firefox this overlay cuts out before it reaches the chapters making them very difficult to read. I tried in Troubleshoot Mode and the issue persists.

I've linked pictures that demonstrate the difference.

I used to be able to install an extension, and than see it automatically pin itself on my toolbar now I have to select the add ons and theme icon on toolbar and manually pin each extension I install one by one. I do not want to have to keep doing this. Will someone please tell me what is going on and how to revert this back to how it originally was?

Hello. I am an IT administrator at my company. We deploy Attack Surface Reduction policies in Windows Defender antivirus. We do not deploy Firefox Enterprise and don't plan to, but we also do not block users that want to download it. However, users that do use it report receiving alerts from Defender that some Firefox executables "do not meet a prevalence, age, or trusted list criteria" and get blocked. I installed version 111 on a machine to test, played a bit and then uninstalled it. While I didn't get these during installation or regular browsing, I did receive these errors when uninstalling. I reinstalled and uninstalled again and the same occurred. Could you please investigate and hopefully get them on trusted lists? Thank you.

Is it FireFox, my NordVPN or PCMATIC that still lets me get thru to my normal websites as well as viewing other websites... OR is something that EPIC (the writers of the MYCHART) for FirstHealth.org and www.firsthealthmychart.org? Can anyone help? This is the ONLY website that will not work for 2 days so far.

I installed Firefox on a new laptop this morning. When I signed in, Firefox somehow found a very old, like SEVERAL YEARS old, setting of bookmarks, toolbar settings, passwords, etc. and then synced the new device to that old information. Then when I opened Firefox in my other devices, Firefox automatically synced (with the new laptop, apparently) and replaced all my current saved information with all that old information.

I'm crushed. I'm missing several years' worth of bookmarks and other information I'd saved in my Firefox. Is there a way to reclaim the Firefox information I had on my devices prior to signing in on the new laptop?

My email screen has gone to a larger page that will not fit on the computer screen, whether in full screen or partial, the inbox is pushed off the left side, and the email previews are so large they extend half the way across from the right side. Previously most of the center was for email lists, but now it is just a small part that will only show two or three emails. How can I change it back the the old format?
