I am really getting fed up with this browser, it is constantly more work than it is worth. The damn thing keeps giving me error messages in individual tabs that are silly and insulting (at the same time), telling me it is sorry but it had to close the damn tab because of some stupid problem it can not even identify. Screws up everything one is doing at the time and happens MUCH to often to be a serious browser. Also, several times a day, that damn thing closes completely dumping everything that is open, including downloads, and destroys hours if not days of work that just go out the windows, who the hell thought this one up. In addition, many serious websites will not support it's functions making me have to use IE or Chrome to do some things that are so simple it is beyond explanation why someone, anyone, who is trying to push the use of a serious browser would allow such problem to persist past the first one, let alone months of the same problems. This browser sucks and is nothing to be used seriously, what so ever.

I have checked her browser against mine (downloaded latest version of the browser from the site last week, after a total hard drive replacement) and the settings seem the same on ll side menu items. She is getting this notice virtually every time she opens a browser page or visits a site.
Firefox is her default browser. Her laptop is running Windows 7.
She is getting extremely upset over this.
When I check about:crashes I get an error: "This application has not been configured to display crash reports. The preference breakpad.reportURL must be set."

I was using the tree style tabs add-on. Firefox popped up a message about a problem with that add-on, which I unfortunately clicked on, and all my tabs vanished. Now not only do I not have my tree-style tabs, Firefox will not create new tabs at all, and "restore session," or "restore all tabs" does nothing. FWIW, in safe mode, it will still give me standard abs at the top.
The Add-ons page offers me "find alternative add-ons," but will not download the alternative it offered me.
I've been a loyal Firefox user since the very first iteration of Firefox, but this has got me ready to bail and find another browser. Really pissed that it gave me no option to read up on what the problem was before killing all my tabs and refusing to allow me to even make new ones in the standard top tab mode without safe mode. I understand there being a problem with an add-on, but this sort of behavior is beyond the pale.
Anyone encountered this problem? Any solutions beyond changing browsers?
Option to place tabs below bookmarks toolbar, firebox 76 and later.

Thanks, I was on 45.0.1, although i have set auto updates - now on 45.0.2 The problem happened with 3 different merchants, so I think not a problem with their sites, and yes I can access my Amex account using Firefox. So it makes me think it is a one of my settings or pop-up barriers or something.
I'll try again when I next buy something, and if it is still a problem, I'll try in safe mode and delete cookies and cache (although I have auto delete of cookies - maybe that is a problem?) and I recently cleared the cache.
If it is till a problem, I'll post again.
Thanks again.
Please see question above
This just started happening a few weeks ago.

In Chrome, when you download a file, you can see it's progress at the bottom of the webpage. With Firefox, you have to click a button to go to another window to see how things are going. Is there a way to see it on the website page where you're downloading?
If you see the picture, it shows the filename and if the file is big, it shows percentage done as it's downloading. Does Firefox have anything like this? When I download, I have to go to a new window to see what's happening.

Firefox Quantum flashes white screen when I revisit idle tabs. This white screen has a loading disc (or flower) at its center. It seems that Mozilla has given Firefox a new "tab discarding" function like Chrome. I wish to disable it. If anyone knows what do I have to find and set to "false" on "about:config", let me know!
