Neither my wife nor I can sign in to our G-mail accounts through Firefox on this computer. We have no problem signing in with either account through another computer. When clicking "Sign in," we get a page related to cache and cookies.

I have gone through the steps to delete "cache & cookies" for MY gmail account with no change in behavior. (My wife did not want me to remove hers because she believes (probably correctly) that her password memory on the PC would be erased!

I suspect we'll have to remove ALL google info from this computer, but don't know how to go about it. The only "App" listed with a google name is Google Chrome.

Suggestions? Remove and reinstall Firefox? Ditto Chrome? (Running Firefox 94. something.) I'd like to see her stick with Firefox, but this is a real barrier.

When I try to open any PDF file, I have to Browse to find my pdf viewer (Flexipdf). I do that and also check your "Save this for future" option. Every time I try to open a pdf after that I still have to go through all the Browse steps. I also set up Flexipdf in your Settings and it just gets ignored.

Hello! I am in a work environment and I am trying to determine if there is something in our security systems that is preventing Firefox from running properly. Once Firefox is installed, it works the rest of the day with no issue but almost daily the morning after, it will start to open then instantly crash. When I check the crash logs, it shows in most of them: Modules - Filename: umppc14210.dll Version: 6.28.14210.0 Debug Identifier: B9143DE260194C88AB48EFD6782C9EAF1 Debug File Name: umppc.pdb Signed By: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

When using the dark theme from Firefox, Google searching seems to break completely as well as some pages will not load which may be related to this.

I have already tried uninstalling Firefox, deleting all of the folders, then reinstalling with a freshly downloaded installer (Even tried the beta one) with same results. It seems potentially MAYBE related to how long ago I closed Firefox before I shut down (Like Firefox is trying to save something to a secure location and times out, then it will work but if it hasn't timed out, then it crashes... or this is my guess)

The Signature seems to change randomly for the crash between crashes. I really am tired of constantly reinstalling Firefox but I do not want to use Chrome or Edge unless websites require it.

Is there any official or unofficial article/website explaining all the about:config settings? Currently i am trying to pre-edit all my custom firefox settings with the autoconfig.cfg I noticed that dns over https can be pre-edited with the cfg, so im pretty sure the setting: enable https only mode for all windows, which by default is disabled for whatever questionable reason, can be pre-activated via cfg.

How could i do that?

Whenever I try opening up firefox to use, I am instead faced with a Bing home page. I have tried uninstalling and installing again but it hasn't seemed to have worked. I am presented with a "Network Protocol Error" saying it can't connect to "segoonow.com" which is malware, and seems to be redirecting me to use bing instead of firefox.

How can I fix this? It's troubling and I don't want it stealing my information and continuing to redirect me to a web browser I don't want to use.

Thank you.

frequently two of my installations of Firefox spontaneously open an advertisement window that says is from some place called BROWSEC. Since it is not caught by my two antivirus applications, it must be infecting the browser in some special way. Any hints on how to clean this out will be appreciated. Sample ad screen is attached.

I'm trying to completely turn off the address search bar function in Firefox. It' so annoying! I go to google. Start to type in the search bar on the page but all my typing ends up in the address bar. So frustrating! If I wanted to search from the address bar I wouldn't have gone to Google to do it. I DON'T want to search from the address bar EVER! So please don't say 'why don't you just..x,y or z'. I've managed to turn off all the address bar suggestions and whatnot with about a dozen different setting which is ridiculous. Turning off the rich results should fix everything but it doesn't. No mater what I try I cannot get text to appear in the Google search bar. So basically Firefox has stolen the functionality of the Google webpage for me. I've been using Firefox for a long time but lately I'm been questioning why a lot. Anyway, any suggestions to stop Firefox from hijacking my search would be appreciated.

Hi,

I have been using Firefox sync for many years now. I just got a new computer and when I tried to connect with my account, I received a message saying Firefox has locked my account.

Would you please fix this asap? I use your browser to work and not having my account back would force me to switch to Chromium, which I don't want to. Please note my account and my email address are both legit. Thanks

Hi read your article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save

I have changed the action for content type "mail to" to my default email app outlook. Despite this when I click on an embedded web page mail to link, the action reverts to the new office "mail" app which I do not want. When I get to the section in your article "User.js file overriding Firefox settings" as the next step in trying to fix the issue, and follow the instruction "Click the Firefox menu - and select Exit." then I am thrown out of the dialogue, it is not logical. Please advise as I don't even know if the user.js is causing the persistence?

Thanks Andrew

After a crash and reboot where I lost my bookmarks, I discovered a "file" of them in a folder I had created for another purpose on my desktop. I don't know how they got there! file:///C:/Users/Alan/OneDrive/Desktop/MECHANICS/bookmarks.html Perhaps saved in OneDrive and migrated somehow during reboot? Anyway, is there a way to transfer these into my newly downloaded Firefox browser? Thanks!

Hi, I developed a simple Add-on, based on jQuery. Unfortzunately, it seems "ajaxStop()" does consistently not work as expected (at all). Any tips on what to consider to get ajaxStop to succesfully trigger my registered eventhandlers? Thanks

PS off topic: the "developer" area of Mozilla is quite painful to handle and reach. I'm always pushed/forwarded back over here. Also the sophisticated 2way-auth seems a bit overkill for posting on a forum .

I have tried everything and cannot manage to load any webpage that prompts a reCAPTCHA. The tab immediately crashes.

1- I've tried several webpages. They all work well until a reCAPTCHA pops up, the tab crashes and creates a dump file 2- I tried uninstalling Firefox, including erasing profiles and all Mozilla folders then reinstalling, and selecting refresh. It sill happens. No addons or extensions, and HW acceleration on and off 3- The problems goes away if I run Firefox on Troubleshooting Mode

Version is 94.0.2 (64 bit) running on Windows 10 21H1 on an i7 1165G7

Am I missing something? Is there a way to do a cleaner install?

Thanks for the help!
