Running v150.0.3 on a Windows 10 PC. I have (HAD) 5 windows open with about a dozen tabs in each one. Just realized that one of the windows is gone! Every time I startup Firefox, I always allow it to automatically update the version. I have a bad feeling this missing window issue happened during the most recent update (last week?).

Has anyone ever experienced this issue or have any ideas how this could have happened? Any chance of recovering that window? I have weekly backups of the SSD containing all my Mozilla files & folders (Firefox and Thunderbird).

Thanks

The regular version of the browser is open with a bunch of pinned tabs and a private version. And!!! If you close the REGULAR version , but DO NOT close the PRIVATE one before that, then when you try to reopen the REGULAR one, ALL OPEN WINDOWS AND TABS will BE DELETED!!! WHY?!?!

And these tabs are not saved in history, because they WERE NOT active in this session!

Where do developers' hands grow from?! Well, this glitch was a couple of years ago! But now?! A month of work preparation went to hell because of Firefox failure... How do I restore tabs that were just blown away by the browser?

I use the most up to date Firefox program. I needed to reinstall windows from scratch so backed up my files using the Firefox Backup option. When i try to restore the files, it restores only 2 bookmarks, 1 called Learn More, and another, a folder called How to Restore, and in it a book mark called Download. The bookmark just takes you to the Firefox home page. I dont know what to do.. there are bookmarks I need, so hope someone can help. Attached is an image of the file Firefox Created.

Running Windows 10 but with extra year of security updates. Several web sites were running very slow or not loading at all. So I tried doing system restore - only went back 3 days but afterward said it had some problems, and link to Firefox did not work. So I did system recovery back to time from which I had just done restore. But I had no link to Firefox so had to download it new. But now I have none of my previous tabs, links, saved passwords,,etc. I'm hoping my previous Firefox is still on my PC and there is a way I can run it.

All tabs completely lost. Tabs are NOT synced

I was working away on copying some files, nothing to do with Firefox. Firefox was open, though I hadn't used it in several minutes. Upon returning to Firefox, I noticed that although my browser had been open, it was not open anymore. All that was open was the download window.

At times in the past, I've accidentally closed the browser window while the download window was still open. I thought maybe this was what had happened this time, even though I absolutely didn't do that. I closed the download window and clicked on the icon on my desktop to restart it.

And that was when I discovered...no more tabs. Not a single one. Just a plain single blank tab.

In searching for an answer, I found this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1396868 but in my confusion and horror and anxiety over needing to get the tabs restored, I had missed this part: "Assuming you found the .html file, it should indicate which .jsonlz4 file it was listing out. Is that the file you want to roll back to (the .jsonlz4 file, not the HTML file)?" and I had started to follow the procedure below it, and after renaming the two files as specified, I realized...I don't have a file to restore.

And so now I have nothing. I don't know how to restore my tabs at all. I literally have no access to anything, because all was tied up in those tabs. How do I restore them? I did find another procedure elsewhere that used "History" and "Restore previous session," but the problem with that solution is that in the "History" there's no such option at all. (This is where I found that one.) https://www.bleepingworld.com/restore-previous-session-firefox/

I'm so afraid to try anything now, I haven't had this problem in years and now I'm totally lost and afraid to mess this up more.

As for the browser I'm writing about, it's the latest Firefox, as I have it set to automatically update. OS is w10.

Also, I only have sync set for passwords. I don't have it set for tabs, for the reason that I use different ones on different devices.

Please, please, help!

Thanks in advance.

I have used Firefox as my browser for many years. I have a Dell laptop with Windows 10,PRO installed. I have installed some new software and now need to "reset" my computer in order to use the new software. My question concerns how, if there is a way, to save TABS and other items BEFORE doing the "reset". I have found several "suggestions" on how to do this, but here is one I would like your response. I found this on Chrome;

If you use Chrome browser, you can also go to Chrome's settings > On startup, and choose the "continue where you left off" option. This way when you relaunch the browser, it will carry on.

My question: Does Firefox have similar solution? I did a Firefox search and was unable to find any similar comments, although it is possible I was not searching in the right place. That's why I am asking this question. Please respond if Firefox has an answer or someone has posted an answer.

Thanks, krazykat1
