Since three updates ago there are white bars on three sides of my Firefox window whenever I disable the title bar. (The bars should be visible if you open the first picture I've attached over a coloured background. The second picture shows the bars disappearing when the title bar is switched on.)

This problem persists in Safe Mode and even after a fresh installation of Firefox, so I am confident that my add-ons and themes are not the issue. The bars also show up when using the Firefox default theme, so a custom theme is not the problem either.

I have also tried, to no avail: Updating my graphics driver, changing my screen scaling, cleaning the registry. And of course simply restarting my computer.

I am at a loss as to what the issue is or how I can fix it.

Hi,

I keep getting the "Secure Connection Failed" error message on Google websites (search engine, Gmail, Agenda, Meet, etc.). Usually I can first access the website fine for while, but after a few minutes I get a "you're offline" popup and refreshing the page gives the error. Sometimes I get the error right away.

I've seen many others ask that question, and I've tried this: - enable/disable ocsp stapling - enable/disable HTTP3 - empty the cache

Some other facts : - There is no additional info on the error page (it's not one of the "SSL version unsupported" or "Add an exception" pages) - I'm on Windows, with the latest Firefox version (although this problem has been going on for a while) - The only antivirus is Windows Defender - I'm not behind a proxy or VPN - This happens at work, and at least 3 of my colleagues have the issue - It sometimes happens on non-Google websites, but very rarely - Firefox for Android works fine on my phone on the same WiFi network

I appreciate any help in resolving this, it's getting to the point where I have to use Chrome to work.

Cheers,

I saw (apparently) the same problem documented in |an old issue an old issue, but the issue's marked closed at this point. I'm seeing new tabs fail to load, but if I take exactly the same URL and paste it into another tab, it loads instantly...thus, every other tab isn't loading.

In reality, this isn't happening with every new tab, and it definitely goes in spurts, so when I start seeing this, it happens for most tabs; otherwise, I can go for hours with no problem. Typically, if I leave one of these hung tabs long enough, it will eventually (minutes later) load.

This is happening on a newly-built PC with a weeks-old install of Firefox. Any idea what might be amiss?

I backed up my laptop's profile on Dec 3. I've since made changes to bookmarks and such on that system, but can no longer access to the computer. So I'm going to copy the backed up profile to a new computer.

Question: a) Will sync work from the profile data and saved credentials copied to the new computer? b) Will sync update the new computer with the changes that had been made on the old computer since Dec 3?

HTML5, YouTube, and Netflix video playback does nothing

Playing HTML5, Youtube, or Netflix video does not work at all for me - Netflix throws an error code, while Youtube and HTML5 simply never stop loading.

I've tried

  • Starting Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode
  • Clearing the cache and cookies for the given website
  • Refreshing Firefox

On the chromium-based edge browser, video playback works normally.

DRM-controlled content playback is enabled, hardware acceleration is disabled, allowing auto-play doesn't help, and neither does disabling Tracking Protection.

Using window.open equivalent in firefox causes .NET session variables to go away. Why? How can I fix?

I have an application which runs in Adobe/Apache Flex with a .NET middle tier.

To run reports I need them to run in a separate window so I use;

navigateToURL(url, "_blank"); This works swimmingly in all browsers (IE, Chrome & Edge) except Firefox (FF). The app has been around for quite a while, and I can't imagine that it never worked in FF, but it doesn't with the last couple of releases.

The symptom is that the .NET "Current.Session.SessionID" changes to a new ID for both the original browser window as well as the new browser window. This causes it to lose all session variables, of course.

The problem only seems to manifest itself if I use "POST" to send variables to the popup window. If I use "GET" everything works fine. An added "bonus" is the "Post" parameters being sent to the new window disappear. So my report doesn't run, and the original window "loses its mind since the session ID changes."

As a test I dusted the cobwebs off and created two ASPX pages which did

<form method="post" name="TestForm" action="TestWopen2.aspx" target="_blank">

The problem was not exhibited in that environment on any browser including FF.

This leads me to believe that Adobe Flex (Flash) is mucking things up a bit.

Hello My Firefox browser stopped working suddenly. I used it this morning (11/12/21) without issue but when I tried it around 6PM CST US I got PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR on everything I tried to load. There was no updates that I am aware of and I tried all of the solutions provided on sites I visited up to and including disabling anti-virus with no success. For now I've uninstalled the product until a solution has been found. Thank you to anyone who may be able to assist in this problem. All other browsers I've tried work as expected.

Hi Customer Support!!!

I have been using Firefox for a long time but never faced this issue. The problem is that when I try to open the browser, it crashes every time. I have searched on YT and google but everyone says, remove the firefox program and reinstall the firefox, but I have many important data in browser and I don't want to lose the all logins details by removing it.

Can you please suggest me any alternative solution for it without losing any data?

Regards, Weyek

On a particular website, I click the lock in the address bar to see if the connection is secure. It is reported secure, see first image, it also says which CA verified the certificate. All seems well but if I click on more information, i get what is shown on the second image, firefox suddenly reports that the site is not encrypted. The website runs on IIS. This happens with both internal CA issued certificate (the ca is imported into firefox as trustworthy root) as well as with letsencrypt issued certificate. Neither internet explorer nor chrome find any anomalies and report the site as trustworthy and all certificates in order. Why is this happening and what is the cause? (i have another server at the same site running also IIS with exchange where the certificate shows correctly in firefox)
