Recently the strava web site login page started using up all the RAM (8GB in total, typically 3-4GB free) on my MAC (OS Mojave) when using Firefox (78.0.2 (64-bit).

FirefoxCP Web Content is the app using up the RAM/Resources.

I suspect this is due to all the trackers strava.com is running and I have firefox setup with 'Enhanced Tracking Protection: Always On'

Blocking Cookies - Cross site and media trackers tracking content - in all windows cryptominers fingerprinters

I always run the Facebook Container.

Note, this problem started about 10-12 days ago, before the garmin ransomware (fwiw).

Note, I don't have any issues with the strava.com/login page consuming resources when using Chrome with Privacy Badger and Adblock Plus.

This is just an FYI - since unsure if it is just a 'my machine' issue. Not ready to test in Firefox without all the enhanced protection yet...

The problem is spotting the start of a logical grouping in many tabs open at once in a window. I arrange them in order when researching something. So, there's 20 tabs open, 4 different categories of the subject topic. There has to be a way besides a sidebar, to signify fast which group starts where. Best case scenario would be marking the 1st tab of a group with a flag, or static pop-up - a short, 15 character-limit description to signify which group it is (like '4k', '1080p', '720p', for video resolution values). 2nd-best would be a mouse-hover message, i.e. a flag or balloon to pop-up with the 15-character description. Finally, I could color-code the 1st tab of a group, or even the text .I saw some good extensions that did these - looks like Firefox disabled them with the latest browser upgrade. Are there any cross-browser or Firefox persistent apps or add-ons that will let me mark up individual tabs, with either icons, messages, or background colors?

I've started using Firefox on Mac because Chrome was ultra slow and Safari was breaking sites.

It's extremely good.

But; one thing that is really annoying me is the fact that media keys for Mac (works in Safari & Chrome) is not working for Firefox :/

Also, another minor thing, the square tabs are ugly has hell.

Hi, In today world, our privacy is in others hand. Several sites takes our privacy data without knowing it. My question is although making firefox tor but overall it is about being annonymous and private on internet.

1) How to spoof google or facebook or any sites on my current location? I have found tutorial about changing things on about:config but it didnt worked, websites always find my ip and location. I dont want to show them my location or browse sites independently related to country.

2) How to hide ip on firefox when browsing site?

3) How to disable javascript for all sites except some sites? I found to disable javascript for about:config but it disable all sites, but i do not want that,I want to unblock javascript the sites we visit only.

4) Enable Tor features in firefox? I heard tor is built on firefox. If it is how can i enable tor features like ip changing, location changing without too compromising speed. I had done to use proxy but to do that i have to specifically open TOR and then only firefox works.

I want to be free, Help. Using Tor browser is not an option because i heard malicious thing on tor, so i want to stick with firefox but getting some features of Tor like (change my location, change my ip), Help!!!!!!

Hi, I struggle in order to have a Webgl working on Firefox running on a Debian VM with no GPU (and no screen).

I use Xvfb to create a display, and would like to use software rendering (like mesa or llvm ?) in order to load a page using webgl, for automation purposes. Does anybody know the good way to configure this please ?

Not sure if this has been well publicised yet, but I noticed from a Bugzilla update for a complex Password Manager (site compatibility issue), that a useful Video Tutorial has been added to the Toolkit:Password Manager Debugging page. The link is just under the "Gathering Debug Logs" heading.

It is very useful, but a bit fast for beginners at this, so I would reccomend using the Settings cog at the bottom right, and slowsing the playback spped to .25 to follow it though a few times. The main article is here:

Hi, I like Firefox and I'd be happy if I could avoid opening other browsers, but this issue is forcing me to also use Chrome and Safari.

I have a Japanese keyboard (with input language set to English), where the stand-alone tilde is Option + Shift + n. Besides this causing a problem with the Shift having to be pressed to obtain a tilde, thus not allowing me to have both options, it doesn't work. I'm doing it now... and nothing.

Since someone was having doubts about the tilde on another post, I'll cover that too.

Should I use: 1) the standalone tilde, "˜", which is Option + Shift + n (which would cause trouble with the shortcut anyway)? Or; 2) the actual Spanish tilde which goes above a letter such as in ñ (where nothing appears after I type Option + n, but "ñ" appears after I type the letter to which the tilde must be applied, in this case "n")? Or; 3) the tilde-like wormy hyphen "~"?

I've tried them all, none of them works.

Any idea how to avoid palm-reading from Chrome?

Thanks,

Muvu

Hello Unfortunately, I have to use a PC at a library sometimes, and leave my 'perfect' PC behind. At the library, we only have Firefox for viewing PDF files. Is there a way to change the background colors on the screen ? Sumatra allows me to do this, but as of yet I have not gotten Sumatra installed at the library. We also have Acrobat, but it doesn't allow color changes either.

Hello I have to use a PC at a library sometimes, and unfortunately we don't have Sumatra (yet). We do have Firefox 70.0, and it opens PDFs but I cannot see with a white background. I've been in Networking nearly 40 years and i will only use a black background. Is there any way for Firefox to use a web-based program so I can run Sumatra within Firefox, without installing Sumatra locally.
