I do not really have a problem, that I think of. But after downloading the latest version of Firefox this week, it has made my browser much slower, especially when using Google Maps and watching YouTube videos. No real question here. I have no clue of how you notify Firefox of this.

Using Windows 7 and Firefox version 50.0 Keep getting "not responding" every few seconds... driving me crazy! I have used Firefox for 15 years or more and am thinking of switching to Chrome if I can't find a solution... but I hate Chrome. Tried to find a fix but there are about 20 listed. Can't it be narrowed down? Don't have time for that. Anybody find a simple fix for this problem???? Help!!

I have just reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate on my desktop computer thinking that it might help with my Firefox slowness problems. I have also ran Malwarebytes AntiMalware and Avast Antivirus where there were no infections. There is a delay just as I am typing on the keyboard to you. I have the most up to date version of Firefox, Java, and Adobe Flash Player. I regularly use Ccleaner to delete temporary internet files, cookies, etc. and I also use it to clean my registry. I have all of the latest windows updates although I am not using Windows 10 yet. Please help me, I am at a loss and not sure what to do at this point. I have some plugins though I do not have any add ons. Will plugins cause lagging/slow browser? I have not tried another browser though I'm ready to switch to one if I cannot resolve this problem. I really like Firefox and don't want to change. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!

It seems to just be happening with Facebook but it freezes to the point that I cannot move the cursor. Ctrl alt del does nothing. The only option it to turn the laptop off completely and restart it. I have just gone through the process of a factory reset with Vista and the same thing is still happening. I synced Firefox before hand so is it my settings somewhere? I do have Adblocker, Ghostery and such installed too. I'm going to try Facebook on Explorer and see if it still freezes. I tried turning off the graphic acceleration thingy as someone suggested in another forum but it still happens. I can't believe that it is simply the laptop overheating as it seems to be so focused on just one site. Many thanks in advance to you all for help!

It is slightly different with me. Amazon loads normally, works normally. Ebay displays in text with hyperlinked words underlined, strung out down the page. BBC home page does the same, yet my own website loads fine, although loading is taking minutes rather than seconds, and Google [either the site or searches] takes forever, and never resolves. Google owns Ebay doesn't it? Is there a connection?

Prior to updating Firefox I have done nothing else except uninstall AVG because I thought it was slowing every process down - emails were taking ages to check.

I have reinstalled Firefox, checked plugins, rebooted, tried another computer and a wifi laptop, and all are the same.

Problem: Intermittent - address bar will not receive input typing. Search bar will not receive input typing.

Attempted solutions: restarted Firefox. Restarted MacPro. Used save mode launch. Complete reload of Firefox.

Comments: Once working Firefox is lightening fast and works flawlessly. The machine is a 2013 MacPro laptop which has recently been upgraded with a 16Gig chip and a new motherboard. Operating system is El Capitan. I have used Firefox happily since getting the computer. Chrome and Safari do not exhibit same problem. There have been no error messages.

Whenever I visit http://tarmak007.blogspot.in the memory usage keeps increasing from the initial 200 odd MB to a couple of GBs and more. Had similar problem earlier too with the site but it got resolved later. I use ublock and tried disabling too. The other browsers such as IE do not seem to have the problem. I am using 43.0.4 version on 64 bit on Win10 64 bit OS.

Dear Gentlemen:

I am using Firefox, version #43.0.4. I am having, an immense problem. I don't know, how many times exactly. Firefox will just freeze up, many times. Without, any warning. After a while, it may start working again. Then it can, do it again. It is nothing for it to freeze, maybe 4 or 6 times. When I am using Firefox. I have clicked the reset button, a couple of times. I have even entered the command, netsh reset resetlog command. Or something like that, in the CMD. Firefox started working great, then it started freezing on me again. I don't know if it is my computer, that is dong this. I am immensely annoyed, with Firefox. The thing is, Internet Explorer can connect. I am seriously thinking of, using the Maxthon browser. It is a Internet Explorer, derived browser. At least it can work, without freezing up.

Sincerely,

Lowell Prater

Like the title says, Firefox takes a long time to load when first run at boot. It can take as long as 3 minutes to finally load. Compare this to Internet Explorer which takes 3 seconds. Kind of embarrassing for the developers of Firefox when even Internet Explorer performs better.

Anyways, I reset the settings, and that didn't seem to help. So I did a full uninstall of Firefox using Revo Uninstaller Pro. And even after that, I searched my computer for "Firefox" and "Mozilla" and deleted the few items that came up. So I was sure my computer was completely clean of anything Firefox related. I re-installed Firefox, and it still takes around 2 minutes for the browser to finally load.

My specs:

Windows 10 Pro (x64 bit) Intel Pentium 2.5 GHz (quad core) 8 GB RAM

Firefox:

Version 53.0.2 (x64 bit)

Extensions installed:

Blur YouTube Flash Video Player

Appearance: Default

Plugins: OpenH264 Video Codec Microsoft Office Authorization Plugin Adobe Shockwave Flash Microsoft Silverlight

Hopefully, I can get this problem solved. Like I said, it's an embarrassment when Internet Explorer outperforms Firefox.

On June 7, 2018, Firefox Quantum updated automatically to 60.0.2 on my MacBookPro running macOS Sierra 10.12.6. Firefox is my default Browser and it is set to open on my homepage: uk.yahoo.com/. My Yahoo mail is now incredibly slow and I cannot refresh the page without a 30 second delay, if it works at all. In my Yahoo Mail, I cannot open any new emails quickly, I cannot move to spam quickly and I cannot go to trash quickly to empty it. It opens my Homepage, Google Search, Bookmarks and other websites quickly. However, while I am in my Yahoo Mail there are huge delays and freezes. Moving through my Yahoo Mail is slower that it has ever been. It seems to be operating at old dial up speeds. It is not delaying movement between emails or using the move to function by a few seconds but rather 30 seconds on average. It is painfully slow. I do not know if this is relevant but upon opening the URL box displays a green lock but after opening any email it changes to a black lock with a yellow triangle everytime. If it allows me to refresh, the lock goes back to Green. Several months ago, I changed from Yahoo Classic Mail to New Yahoo Mail. I am not using Yahoo Mail Pro that charges a fee for use. I do not know what to do. Last week when using FF quantum 60.0.1 I could not open any attachments. I still cannot open most attachments. It now seems to be hit or miss. I do not know if this is related to the Mail Slowness problem. Please advise? Many thanks.
