I updated Firefox from 136.0 to 136.0.1 last night. When I reloaded and checked the version number, I got the display "Firefox is being updated by another instance". I tried closing and reopening a few times but the result remained the same. I then rebooted the PC but no difference. I shutdown the PC and went to bed. This morning the issue was still there until I logged into my Mozilla account via google in order to type this message.. I checked the version number while typing and now it checked for updates and displays "Firefox is up to date".

So problem solved. Just curious why it happened?

Thanks

When I sign in to ssa.gov to see my personal record, the link takes me to a new tab with an error message. This does not happen on my mobile phone with Safari. I would like to use Firefox on my laptop but it will not let me access the Social Security link provided on their website. The URL: https://www.ssa.gov/personal-record When I click on "View your record"..."Sign in to view your earning record....." It opens a tab with this URL: https://secure.ssa.gov/RIL/SiView.action with the message: Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. This must be a Firefox problem since Safari has no problem with this link. I prefer Firefox, so please help me find what the problem is so it can be fixed and I'll be able to use Firefox to access my Social Security account. Thank you!

I have untoggled the spellcheck but whenever I send an email in Outlook it still underlines supposedly incorrect words. Now I am sending emails in German on a "German"keyboard. Would this make a difference ? I hope to be able to do an email without the annoying red underlines when the words are correct.

Hello, after the most recent update I've noticed a change in the behavior of Firefox. If I have, say 2 livestreams or videos opened (in separate windows) and full screened,if I hover over the Firefox icon in the taskbar,I no longer get a live preview of what is happening in said windows. It shows a live preview of only one,and if I want to see what's going on in the other,I have no switch over to that window, which causes the first one to appear paused. Prior to the last update, that wasn't the case. Was this intentional or is there a new setting in Firefox that I've missed?

I opened the Bookmark Manager because I wanted to change some tags. After I made the changes, and deleted the websites from the old tags, I wasn't able to delete them. In r/mozilla it was suggested that I Verify Integrity. Is there something I'm supposed to do after I run that? I was still unable to delete tags. Just in case it might be helpful, this is the report from Verify Integrity:

Adjusting the volume of any sound or video player in Firefox also affects the browser's overall volume in the operating system, making it difficult to raise the volume without a sudden increase in volume. I've set 'media.volume_scale' to 0.1 as a temporary fix, but adjusting it frequently is a hassle. I've tested this on my laptop with Linux Mint, and the issue is there as well. A user on Discord referred to this as intended behaviour, but I find it inconsistent and impractical for Firefox to be the only software that behaves this way and would like to change it.

Here's an example.

As long as I have legitimate antimalware running, even with exceptions added for firefox, almost every single page comes up with one of the unique-to-firefox security errors rendering it practically useless. And the recommendation is to disable my antimalware? This is not an acceptable solution. I certainly don't trust Firefox to call the shots regarding my security over a reputable antimalware company. Especially when firefox is the only browser that has a problem. If you're going to to make yourself useless, you might as well let me access a page with a valid certificate and signature. Can we have an option to turn off your faulty security measures please?

I synced my phone and my laptop and all of my bookmarks, some that I've had for years, are all gone. I used the same email but updated the password and now I don't have any of my bookmarks. My browser history for the past week or so is still intact. I just don't understand why my bookmarks are gone.
