When I open a PDF in Firefox, a half-page notice opens, telling me I can highlight the PDF. This prevents me from doing absolutely everything. Cannot read the file, cannot print the file with the box in the way. How can I get rid of this box? Thanks for your time.

Recently, whenever I open saved (or sometimes new web) documents in Firefox, a very large pop-up on the lower right side of my screen appears with a cartoon of a pencil scanning a document. Below the cartoon it states "Now you can highlight your PDFs! With our new highlighter tool, you can read and edit PDFs in one place." The pop-up blocks half the view of the document and cannot be minimized or closed. It also prevents accessing (it hides) the "print" option if I want to print/save the page. I have WINDOWS 11 and have looked online for solutions to this problem which always produces the same suggestion: "go to 'settings', click 'privacy & security', check 'block pop-ups', click 'OK'", all of which I've done. I now limit my use of Firefox to streaming videos via amazon, and use Chrome or Edge for anything else I need to do, but I assume Firefox would not be happy to know of the aggravation their browser is causing, forcing users to go elsewhere (or am I the only person having this problem). Every time I try to view a pdf file on Firefox I can view the file but in the lower right 1/4 of the screen I get a graphic of a page with shaded areas representing lines with writing on them. There is a type of pen cursor moving along the line.

This happens with different pdfs - from the internet and from my saved files. This doesn't happen on another computer with Firefox.

I've deleted and redownloaded Firefox an number of times, also tried troubleshoot mode - no improvement. Virus scanned, restarted a number of times.

Pdfs work on edge and chrome and reader with no problem.

I am an academic. I use Canvas. When I am in Canvas and I try to open a document in it from Firefox, what I get are solid black pages. I do not have this problem with Canvas in Chrome or in Edge. I really don't want to use those Browsers. I actually have this problem with every PDF I try to open from all sites. This is a recent problem. But if I cannot correct it, I will have to use other Browsers.

While using Dext there is a visual of the uploaded pdf file. Now there is a notice that my Firefox settings need to be changed. Dext does not have instructions for Firefox and I have not yet located the spot in settings to adapt for this. Looking for directions.

Firefox has been used to open PDFs. Suddenly, all the PDFs appear as totally black. If I hover over the tab for that PDF, it shows the little representation as normal white background. This just happened. Don't know how to correct for this.

See the attached image. This showed up when viewing PDFs. The highlighter demo can not be removed or turned off. I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled, still there. Uninstalled Acrobat, the demo is still there.

When I visit websites via Firefox and click on a link that takes me to a document, a large pop-up on the lower right side of the screen appears blocking half the page and preventing me from downloading or printing it. The pop-up depicts a cartoon-letter with a highlighter pen traversing its cartoon-text, below which is an enthusiastic missive stating (and I quote): "Now you can highlight your PDFs! With our new highlighter tool, you can read and edit PDFs in one place." Because of this infernal nuisance, I cannot print or download web pages. This has been going on for WEEKS! (That pop-up is USEFUL?! Who thinx up this stuff??!!) Apparently you're having trouble fixing this problem ... I understand--I'll just use Edge or Chrome from now on. Sorry if I woke you.

When printing a PDF with custom page ranges, the footer text in the print preview (see image) does not match the actual page. As shown in the example image, if I want to print pages 2-16, the preview indicating page 4 is actually page 5.

So, if I want to print with a very custom range, such as 2-4, 6-10, 12-14, 16, it will be very confusing and will take longer to adjust.

And I also print custom ranges like this very often for daily tasks. I’m not sure if this is a bug or just a minor adjustment needed in Firefox’s coding. Thank you in advance for your help.

How do I get the PDF viewer to work again? For years I have used the setting "save" to automatically download. Now I am unable to view them without going in and changing the settings to "open in firefox". I would like to continue to use the save setting without having to constantly change this back and forth. When I click to open the file, all it does it grey out.

For about a week now, I have been unable to read any pdf document I download. The body of the document is completely black (that is black, not blank). When I go to save the document, it is saved as a black (unreadable) document. I have had to switch to using another browser in order to be able to download/save a readable pdf document. How can I fix this issue?

The past two days Firefox has not been displaying PDFs properly, turning 2 out of 14 pages sideways. I restarted my computer but no change. The PDFs display beautifully in Edge.

I have been using Firefox for a long time, and recently I upgraded my Windows system. Before the upgrade, I had set Firefox to open PDFs directly in a PDF Reader other than Firefox’s built-in PDF viewer, and it worked perfectly. However, after the upgrade, Firefox now shows the "Opening when completed" message and opens PDFs slowly, instead of opening them immediately in my chosen PDF Reader.

I have checked the settings, cleared the cache, refreshed Firefox, and even tested with other software, but the issue persists. The settings for handling PDFs are still the same, but they don't seem to work as they used to.

Can you please assist me in resolving this issue? Any help would be much appreciated.
