I noticed that after the latest update, searching with the address bar no longer works as smoothly: autocomplete suggestions only appear in the bar when typing in a single character on a new tab, rather than updating with each additional keystroke. The suggestion only appears upon unselecting and reselecting the address bar. (see uploaded images)

Also, the search suggests seem to regenerate the entire dropdown menu with each keystroke, resulting in an unpleasant "flickering" appearance. It's not the biggest deal, but I don't recall firefox (mis)behaving this way before.

Can anyone help me with this?

I want youtube to go back to the list of websites on the url drop down menu. I'm annoyed that Heroforge replaced it after only two visits to the website and I don't know why it even did that.

My Firefox is not showing search suggestions/autocomplete when I search for a term in the search bar. First screenshot is what I see, second screenshot is from Chrome. Third screenshot is my settings.

I would like to continue using Firefox, but this is extremely infuriating.

I don't understand a lot of the UX decisions behind the new search bar: - Requires more clicks and keyboard strokes now to do the same things - Trending search suggestions cannot be disabled - But after disabling search suggestions entirely (because I don't want to see trending suggestions), I still see recents suggested when I first select the search field... but only then, and not as I type? - Hitting backspace one too many times reverts the search bar to my default search engine

The old search bar was awkward, but this one feels worse. Waaay overdesigned. Is there anything I can do about any of these issues? Should I expect any updates to search bar functionality in the near future?

Bonus complaint: WTF is up with the numbered list/bullet list situation on this form, holy moly. Had to just use dashes because those features are so unusable.

The title says it all. I use Firefox on my home computer with Windows 10, and my work laptop using Windows 11. At home, URLs do not autocomplete when typing them in--settings are all on for this to work properly, and it used to work properly, but it does not work at all. At work, URLs complete just fine.

I reset basically everything to see if I could get it to stop predicting what site I wanted to go to and it still does it. Cleared the history, turned off syncing, closed tabs on other devices before I turned off syncing. I see on setting for autofill address bars etc. Mobile firefox settings are reduced it seems. I am on IOS if that matter. I don't know what else would be useful.

In the address bar dropdown menu, what determines how many Recent Searches vs. how many of my Shortcuts are displayed?

One profile shows 15 Shortcuts & 5 Recent Searches. Another profile shows 19 Shortcuts & 1 Recent Search.

Is there a setting that controls this?

When a system-wide VPN application (not built into Firefox) is enabled, the behavior of the address bar changes: on the first click, it only shows 5 sites (Top Sites), instead of the usual 9. After pressing the Spacebar, the list from browsing history loads normally. The problem persists after turning off the VPN and only disappears after a full restart of Firefox. I have google as my default search engine and having the search engine shortcut suggestion gets in the way of my work flow. When I open a new tab, I'd like to just press the tab button once to move to the search bar. Any way to accomplish this in about:config?

Search Suggestions stopped showing up v149 desktop

yah all of sudden no search suggestions are showing up in my search bar, i have Show search suggestions and

Show search suggestions in address bar results both selected too, and only have Google for a search engine.

I have also tried in no extension mode, and still doesnt work

How do I change the site addresses that come up when I click the address bar? Time was I got a list of sites that I use often, perhaps several time in a day. I still use those sites but some have been replaced by addresses that I've used once or twice and probably won't use again for months. Where's the sense behind identifying as a "favourite" something I use twice in a week but not again and throwing out something I use week in and week out. How do I get rid of these interlopers?

AI is using my data and serving up slop from what it gathers. I'd like to keep as much AI slop out of my Firefox web browser as possible, is there information available on how to block AI features and results from my Firefox?

The options on which search engine to use used to appear at the bottom of the suggested search results, making it easy to start typing and then clicking where I wanted to search. Now they're in their own drop-down menu on the side, adding an additional click to access them. Is there any way to change it back?

Hello Mozilla, How do I permanently remove Google Trending Search from Firefox? May I ask: Please do not make such changes without obvious explicit warning? This is a time consuming nightmare. Regards Andrew
