I have just replaced my PC after the old one decided not to connect to the net & performed a backup of just about everything. Tried to restore Firefox backup & it's asking for a password when I didn't create one! I've tried the Firefox sign in password but that was rejected - any ideas anyone? Thanks

Why my mozilla account didn't save my bookmark correctly, I just upgrade my windows to Windows 11, before I install my OS, I already syinced my Mozilla Account and all its data include bookmark toolbar. But, when I try to login and resync all my old data, its all gone, how to solve this issue?

after my laptop crashed (again did so over 100 times) but this time all history is gone, could not restore last session/s - can't log into my accounts (any) - can't set it to an earlier date (e.g. yesterday) to eliminate whatever the problem is (am not an IT expert, so I don't know how - just know that it is possible) - I have tried for 4 hours - no avail - I really need the status of 4-5 hours ago so I don't lose so much

Yesterday I updated IOS on Macbook Air M2 to Tahoe 26.3.1. Today I had a problem with wallpaper and was in the middle of a conversation with apple when I accidentally closed the firefox browser. When I opened it and went to history, it did not have any of my history since the upgrade?

I had a Firefox account I had my gmail jmcgarigal@gmail.com in a container on firefox. I would like this all back as was.

I need a more permanent fix to the disappearing bookmarks issue when the file is in use by another entity. I have tried to fix it, read the instructions and when I start to apply the fix, the instructions disappear and now I have to depend on my faulty memory.

Tonight Firefox updated itself and when the routine finished the new default-release profile did not contain any of my data including bookmarks.

I tried to launch the profile default in a new browser but this was empty too.

can anyone help me locate my data and restore it in the new profile?

All bookmarks and history lost. Have spent over 2 hours following the steps outlined as a standard treatment for this problem, attributed to another program interfering with Firefox Profiles or bookmarks. Restarts of Firefox and PC failed to restore, Going to Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks fails because when you get to the Library window for Import or Restore and select profile (I show 3 right now, all tagged as .default), there is no way in the window to accomplish a restore. You can insert a profile in the open window but there is no way to activate the restore function. Likewise when I accessed the list of 15 prior bookmark files I had the same result with the restore window. The instructions do not make any sense to me. Need somebody to contact me directly and walk through problem via phone call.

after Firefox update all bookmarks stopped working and are not editable. All tabs crash, including Firefox help link from the Firefox menu.

Password list is blank - no entries

Is there any way to retrieve bookmarks?

I need to enter each url in the browser line and save bookmark for it to work.

I have been using the same firefox account for six years, and when the update that added user profiles came out, I successfully transferred all of my information to a profile. Well, today my firefox wasn't responding, so I used task manager to close it and restarted my computer. When I opened firefox again, it prompted me to select or create a profile to continue browsing. Crucially, it did not list the profile I had been using as an option, so I created a throwaway profile so look up what was going on and how to fix it. I tried logging into my mozilla account; no record of my previous browsing data, bookmarks, or extensions. I tried following the steps in the "Restore bookmarks, passwords and data from an old Firefox profile" article from Mozilla Support, but my old profile no longer appears in the profiles folder on my computer. I'm worried that if I keep messing around trying to restore my old data, I'll do some irreparable damage and never be able to get it back. Is there anything I can do in this situation?

I have a machine I've been using for months and haven't got around to archiving the history and tabs for some research I was doing. I realized this could be problematic if anything happened to the machine, so I decided to sign-in to my Mozilla/Firefox account I made years ago, so it would be safely sync'd.

Everything was fine at first, it showed it was syncing and whatnot, but then after several minutes, Firefox crashed. Upon relaunching, ALL of my history is gone! Neither signed-in nor signed-out shows any history at all, except the searches I've done just now trying to undo this mess. Did I really just loose months of history due to some bug or is there a way I can manually restore or see it from the mess of cache/profile files on my machine?

Ubuntu user, so will be at ~/ or similar for most things I assume.

у меня все слетело ,я еле востановил расширения, слетели все пороли, вообще все. С помощью shadowExplorer я востановил кое какую кастомизацию но при добавлении файлов ( полного (старого)профиля просто с заменой файлов) в новый профиль получается так что я просто не могу не войти не удалить акаунт, что бы я не делал. Мне очень грустно и злостно, я был бы рад если бы мне помогли все востановить(((((( Я люблю фаерфокс но тут он мне насолил.

I normally have 4 windows open, each with multiple tabs, for 4 work streams.

Whenever Firefox or MS decides to do an update, one window sometimes, 4 rarely, none usually, are recovered after restart. How can I ensure that Firefox remembers all the windows and their tabs before shutting down? Then reinstates them after starting up. After the last MS update, the option "Recently closed windows" was greyed out. But there had been 4 of them.

Firefox's recovery after simply rebooting the computer is more, but not completely, reliable. Win11 on a desktop computer
