A pop-up suggested that I use profiles to organize and it sounded like a great idea but then after making profile I was having trouble getting tabs from one page to another. Then I discovered that I had to log in my accounts onto every profile I made and it sounded like a terrible idea, so I tried deleting all my profiles to get it to revert but now that I open the browser it shows me to make a new Profile. So, I want to know how can I revert back to using Firefox Without the use of profiles like I was before clicking the pop-up

I am an academic. I use Canvas. When I am in Canvas and I try to open a document in it from Firefox, what I get are solid black pages. I do not have this problem with Canvas in Chrome or in Edge. I really don't want to use those Browsers. I actually have this problem with every PDF I try to open from all sites. This is a recent problem. But if I cannot correct it, I will have to use other Browsers.

I am managing some linux servers in schools.

Actualy a lot of users are working with firefox.

Depending on how the user is working with firefox, the profil may reclaims a lot of disk space.

Is there a tool working like :

firefox_cleaning_tool /path_of_profile /options xxx

with some options like : cache / etc...

For exemple : the tool flushes profiles caches files and user have no action to do to continue using firefox as usual

this kind of tool should run every month (ie with crontab)

Is there a way to do that ?

I can manual flush some folders contents but I am afraid to do mistakes.

opened firefox saturday and screen was totally different than what i had. guess it updated, but not returned to my profile. have tried to open my profile and succeeded, but can't get it to come on automatically when i open firefox again. how do i open the profile i want and then keep it opened?

After the recent update that added profiles to Firefox I have gotten them working on my personal computer but not on my work pc.

The option for creating profiles showed up once when launching the browser but I had to dismiss it at the time. Now I can't find the option to create profiles any more, I have followed the guides that mozilla have put out but the option physically is not there.

I have also tried reinstalling Firefox but that also did not work.

Good afternoon. Since recently (probably after the last Firefox update to version 136.0) I have a problem: every time I start Firefox it requires the main password set in the settings. Before this problem did not occur, no settings were changed.

I read the official article on this topic, but the recommendations described there did not help me. I turned off the password, logged out of the browser, turned it back on, logged out again, and nothing. When I turned it back on, still at every startup it asked for the password.

I also noticed that every time I start it up, the loading circle next to the cursor spins, like something is happening. Can you tell me what it could be and how to get rid of this problem?

OS: Windows 11 24H2.

When i open firefox, i can choose what profile to open. I have two screens, so i was wondering if it was possible to be able to open both profiles i use, and have one on each screen. If not possible, would it be considered for an update in the future? It would make it easier, so i can have my personal profile on one screen, and my work profile on the other.

started receiving this error message while on musify.club. It lets me in, then after a few moments the pop up comes back with same code. after research, it has been deemed that I'm only party affected but I can get in on other devices with no issues from same wifi network. please advise. win 10 pc user. thanks.

I don't have a Profiles menu under the Account button on the main toolbar. My Firefox was just updated and the update tab info talked about the new profiles feature as if it was available. Is this rolling out in phases or should I be seeing it?

If I'm not mistaken, between FF146 and FF147 it appears the location of the profile directory has changed. It was:

   /home/<user>/.mozilla/firefox  

and now is

   /home/<user>/.config/mozilla/firefox

Is that correct?

I have an issue where the following operations with the "new" profile manager don't work: - setting up a new profile (about:newprofile in the new profile is just blank) (a new profile gets created though) - deleting a profile (about:newprofile is just blank) - editing any profile that is not the original profile (about:editprofile is just blank) (works with the original profile) - the select profile interface from the account or menu button is blank when opening it from any profile that is not the original profile

What works tho is calling about:profilemanager from any profile. From there any profile can be selected and switched to.

I'm using the Bazzite (Linux distro that is Fedora based). I'm fairly new to Linux so that could be a issue, the problem was there from the get-go though and since Firefox was preinstalled I don't believe I could've messed up much.

Firefox version is 147.0.4 Bazzite version is 43.20260211.0 (Kinoite)

Reboot doesn't fix these issues. Uninstalled Firefox with deleting user data, installed it again and same behavior appears again.

I also tried installing a Firefox fork (Waterfox). It had the same issues.

I would appreciate any help and would be willing to share more detailed date if it helps somebody help me.

I am a heavy Firefox user, and have been using it (and its predecessor) since Netscape. In the last year, the size of my Firefox profile has more than doubled, from 500MB to 1.3GB. What's the probable cause(s), and what can I do about it?

With the new profile manager your have to choose a Profile that you have to open on system start. That is okay, but I often change between two main profiles, "Homelab" and Personal. That means if I close Firefox and open it again it defaults to open in the last profile use. When I get an idea, I like to start researching and testing before i get side tracked

Is there a way to specify to open a link in a particular profile, like with Edge you would do something like: "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Firefox.lnk" -profile-directory="Profile 2"

Thing I have tried:

• C:\Users\%USER\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\vlfrd90t.default
