Hello,

I have a personal profile and a work profile on Firefox.

Both profiles have a short cut on the desktop to their webmails. At present when I double click either of the shortcuts, Firefox starts and presents the Windows to select the profile to use.

Is there some way to specify in each shortcut which profile it should use to open the webmail?

I want some help please. When I open links from viber or discord, the links open in a new firefox window not the one am using at the time and they open on a no firefox profile window. I don't know what do and how to make the links open in the right firefox window. Maybe you can help me somehow?

Now that the new profiles have arrived, the taskbar icon will always add the name of the profile I am currently using. And that profile HAS to have a name, you are not allowed to leave it blank. I just named it A just becasue it needed to have any name. But I would actually prefer it not to be oncluded, as there is no need. Is there a way (or will there be) to remove the profile name to return to the look that was perfectly fine until yesterday?

As the title says, when i go to about:support, and click the open profile folder, i wanted to install a customization to allow me to edit the default tab background, but for some reason i do not have admin privileges in that folder, i can't access anything, i can't edit anything nor create a new folder, even rename it. It says that my own computer does not have admin privileges inside that folder.

Just lately, Firefox has been going on about Profiles, I don't know why. I have no need for such things, yet in my Windows menu, everything says "– Original profile" at the end. All this does is make things difficult to see. How can I get rid of it, please?

Is there a way to add profile options to the taskbar menu? While I find the normal method reasonable I tend to not always have my browser on screen and want the convenience of opening a specific profile from the taskbar. Is this possible with code edits, if so could I have some assistance with knowing what needs to be done? I have minimal experience at best with coding and while I can follow instructions I don't exactly know what would need to be done to add this option. Thank you very much for listening!

I do not understand why I open up a new firefox browser that my bookmarks are gone, and I have to refresh to get them back. It seems that I have more then one profile and when I go to picking one for my default, it works. Not sure why this keeps happening. I only want one profile and for it to have all of my bookmarks. What do I do to stop this form happening every time I open up a new browser in firefox.??

I have an account for standard support release versions, I am now using extended support release version 140.7.0 and a popup notification keeps nagging me to make a new profile. How do I do this?

Using the new profile manager, is there a way to launch Firefox using a specific profile?

I like the new Profile manager feature! As I understand it, it is completely separate from the old way of managing profiles with "firefox -p" and about::profiles. One feature of the old system that I really liked was the ability to launch Firefox with a specific profile. I was using this to create separate shortcuts to launch my Personal profile or my Work one. Is this possible with the new profile management system? I know that there is an option to select a default profile - but this is not as useful as that means that the same profile would always be used.

Even when I am signed into Firefox, the other person's Firefox passwords appear, and mine rarely do. This happened even before I downloaded Windows 11 recently. Often, I need to make sure the other user is logged out of his Windows acct., then turn off the computer, wait a few minutes, and then turn the computer back on before my passwords appear. Today, even that hasn't worked.

(not the first time) Mozilla closed all my open tabs... Well, maybe she was sick of the number of them... However, from the magazine, "recently closed tabs" are not restored, even though there is such a function.... And also - I use exclusively portable versions of the fox... When I click on the link, somewhere, in Telegram or on... dating site (joke), they open them, not my beautiful chanterelle, but some faceless dog, that is, firefox, absolutely clean, without themes, without extensions, without bookmarks... Why is it happening?

When I do try to create, rename or delete a profile, I get the message, "An unexpected error has prevented your changes from being saved".

I have a new Windows 11 PC. I installed Firefox first from the Windows store and had problems adding a second profile. Now, I've downloaded the full installer and still have the problem after multiple uninstalls, deleting the appdata Firefox folder and re-installing. I've also tried to rename the FF folder after encountering the problem and just restarting FF. It seems to create a new folder with profiles, but I can't create or delete the profiles from the profile manager or from about:profiles.

I've also checked that the folders and profiles.ini are not in read-only. I've also tried to manually create profiles or create profiles using the command prompt. Nothing seems to work.

I downloaded the new firefox, when i loaded it up it asked me to create a new profile and there was a folder on my desktop called old firefox data. My current issue is that i cant figure out how to load my old data and restore all of the profiles I had and my profiles folder is a mess.

So what I am trying to do is determine how to sort out my profile folder and tell which profile is which without loading them all into firefox. And then I am trying to figure out how i can use the profile manager to manage a few different profiles and when i use that build in manager where are those profile folders supposed to end up.

Can someone help me with potentially very detailed instructions because this situation is insanely frustrating and all I want to do is maintain three different profiles and I feel like that shouldn't be that difficult.

Is it possible to sync all profiles among different devices? So they are tied to your mozilla account, then you get the option to choose which profiles to add on a different firefox browser. Mac and windows for example.

Also it would be nice to be able to change the "banner?". Basically the thing surrounding the profile image.

I run the current version on a Dell Inspiron 15 3530 laptop using Windows 11 Pro. Today, I tried to open my profile file to back it up, but got the message attached below. I searched my computer and found the file in another location.Should I copy the file to the expected location or not?
