It has been two times now where I will open firefox and suddenly all my profiles are gone. I have tried everything to try to get them back like trying to get "old firefox data" back or about:profiles, but there is literally nothing to recover. All of my bookmarks and passwords are fine but I have to log in to everything all over again and reset my home page with all my shortcuts. it is extremely annoying, especially when I use up all the shortcut spaces. It prompts me when I start firefox to create a profile, sign in again, and set firefox as my preferred browser. I have been using firefox for about a year and havent had this problem until a couple of weeks ago. What can i do to avoid having to do this again in the future?

The problem: I f'd up with the Profiles option. I wanted to set up a Work profile on a new windows laptop associated with a new work email (msta....), and then separately have my personal profile connected to my gmail (mstn...).

Well somehow I managed to make my Work (default) profile connected to my overall Firefox + Google personal profile, and have spent a month in my ignorance saving away settings and bookmarks on this machine. Is there anyway that I can disconnect my Gmail account from the profile Work, and connect it to the secondary profile on the same machine titled 'Mel'? Or will I need to export the last month of bookmarks, implode my Mozilla install on this machine, and start over with new profiles and better practices?

FF 148.0, Intel Mac, current 15.7.4 (Sequoia)

In the middle of a browsing session I needed to consult my substantial browsing history and found it to be gone. I quit FF using the dropdown and restarted. After restarting FF the browsing history showed only that session and the TST sidebar with many tabs didn't display so I concluded FF created a new profile for startup but using my home page. I have the profile in use at the time (profile_a) and a month old backup of it. profile_a seems to have all the expected data and the bookmarks are correct. I've hacked around within Profile Groups and profiles.ini but FF refuses to use profile_a in spite of my edits, and worse is silent about it so I'm stuck and need help.

Possible related issue: is TST sensitive to the number of tabs? I'm a hoarder and find TST easier to use than bookmarks so had about 700 tabs stashed in TST.

The last 2 days when I have shut down my computer then restarted, my Firefox profile has disappeared, along with all my bookmarks, passwords etc. I spent several hours yesterday following all the advice here to get everything back, but nothing worked. I had to create a new profile and then import an old passwords file, which I luckily had saved in Excel. This morning when I switched the computer on, the same thing has happened. I cannot even open Firefox without creating a new profile. I get a pop up box (screenshot attached), which shows no profiles, and i have to create a new one to even open Firefox. Every time I close out of Firefox and want to go back in, I am asked to choose a profile. This has never happened before.Before i give up forever on Firefox and go over to another browser, do you have any ideas how i can stop this from happening, and get my original profile, passwords, bookmarks etc back? I've been using the profile manager, and wanted to delete a profile that i have made. However, when i select the option to delete it, it only opens up a new tab in the profile called "about:deleteprofile', which displays an empty page and does nothing. Then, I would try to delete the profile manually, in the profiles folder, but if I opened firefox or restarted my computer, it would just come back. I have attatched the relevant images below.

Good morning, after today's FF update - right click dropdown menus are terrible! Nothing works for me... Opening new windows, new tabs, adding to bookmarks, copying, pasting, etc... How can I turn it off because I can't use it. I need to have a menu like in version 133.0.3. If I can't change it, I will have to change the browser because I can't use it! How can I transfer my bookmarks to the new version of Firefox. The bookmarks are still available from the drop-down top bar "bookmarks" but they don't show on the Firefox page. I don't know how to get to the "about:profiles" page to change back to the profile that shows my bookmarks toolbar.

Before the new profiles update in Firefox I was using the old version of creating profiles and I want to move that profile into the new profile method. Is that possible?

started receiving this error message while on musify.club. It lets me in, then after a few moments the pop up comes back with same code. after research, it has been deemed that I'm only party affected but I can get in on other devices with no issues from same wifi network. please advise. win 10 pc user. thanks.

When i open firefox, i can choose what profile to open. I have two screens, so i was wondering if it was possible to be able to open both profiles i use, and have one on each screen. If not possible, would it be considered for an update in the future? It would make it easier, so i can have my personal profile on one screen, and my work profile on the other.

I have my personal account on firefox and it syncs everything but I want to be able to do the same for my business account. when I sign out of my personal and try to sign in to my business it says I can't. I try to re-set my password and it says I have to use the "primary" account email. It does not accept my business account.

How do I get firefox account for my business email?

I have moved my profile to a different location on the hard drive to make backups easier. How do I tell firefox where the profile is now located. c:\users\med\my data\PROFILES\mozillA\*.deFAUlt

My power just went out for a second, now Firefox its acting like I've never used it.

I've never had this problem. Firefox has worked just fine for years. I have never had an issue with FireFox. Now I'm being told to select a profile like there isn't a set of folders with files dating back to 2021 sitting next to these fresh new folders full of files all dated to today.—I don't know shit by the way, Google told me where the profile stuff is or something idk im pissed.

How do I get Firefox to recognize the same old mountain of files its been using to store bookmarks, passwords, and all the rest is right under its stupid nose? And no the about:profiles page just gives me another blank profile to choose.

I have a bunch of profiles set up via "about:profiles". Some of these are associated with different Mozilla accounts, some are not. Today, I wanted to rearrange those profiles to put some older profiles that I do not use as often lower on the page than more recent profiles. I thought I remembered there being an overview text file that included a number for each profile, the folder that profile's information was stored in, etc. When I went looking for that file, I could not find it, so I went looking for help articles and discovered that there is a new profile management tool.

When I tried using the new profile manager via "about:profilemanager", none of my current profiles are visible, so I cannot use that tool to reorder my profiles.

I would be grateful if you could point me to an article explaining how to reorder the profiles in "about:profiles". If that is not possible, I would appreciate a help article explaining the rationale for making these two uses of the word "profile" distinct, the ways in which these profiles are different from each other, and how to transfer settings from the older version to the newer version. I have everything set up just the way I like it within my current profiles and really do not want to have to recreate them from scratch...

I was interested in seeing how the profiles worked so I clicked yes to creating one, but once I set another one up I realised I would have to use a separate Mozilla account on it and I would prefer to keep everything on one browser and account. I tried to delete the profiles but it said it would delete all my bookmarks and data, is there any other way to hit undo or something and go back to the way it was before (without profiles)?
