I have read your instructions on the Firefox website. What is not clear to me is, do I accomplish "privacy settings" and "delete browsing history" within the Firefox web site or do I do this offline through Windows 7 "internet settings". The Firefox tab (upper left) does not offer the menu choices that your instructions refer to. My laptop (offline) "internet settings" refer to Internet Explorer settings (which I am not using) so it's not clear that changes in my preferences are affecting Firefox (or just Internet Explorer)

In one of my websites where it tells me to log on the log on icon is hidden. I can find it by scrolling over it with my mouse and the pointer changes from an arrow to a hand with a pointed finger. I contacted the financial website and they told me the following:

Firefox for Windows/Mac

1. Click on Firefox at the top of the screen (where is this?) 2. In the 'Firefox' drop down menu choose Preferences 3. Click on Advanced tab at top 4. Click on the Network tab 5. In the 'Cached Web Content' section, click Clear Now 6. Close/reopen browser

I have tried to find where on the Firefox screen they are talking about and cannot find where to change preferences and attempt to see exactly what I am clicking on. Any help?

whenever I working with firefox, AVG warns me of a JS/Redir virus. I click on remove and AVG states it has put into the virus vault. However it always returns. The AVG dialog shows the file from the mozilla profile; adblockplus\cache.js. I have deleted this, but the problem continues. This problem occurs only with firefox. I am reluctantly having to use IE untul this is resolved.

Firefox does not trust a specific secure website that I know is secure, but it does trust other secure websites. Also, Internet Explorer trusts this website and Firefox on another computer trusts this same website. When I try to connect Firefox tells me that it does not have a valid certificate (even though I know one exists) and that I would have to make an exception to connect. Is there some way I can correct this and get the proper certificate into this particular Firefox program?

Answers deny there is any password -- however, now and then I am asked to confirm that I am the person identified on the MY Yahoo -- I am asked for a username and password.

An example is when I change computers and Yahoo or Mozilla does not recognize the new computer.

I do not understand -- yes normally, I simply open the browser and use it. BUT!!!

I am probably using the wrong jargon for what I want to change.

I am prompted every time i visit a site that i enter a password on to save it in firefox 18, it's now getting annoying. I have tried to turn it off, but the box in firefox settings is shaded and won't allow me to turn password manager off, i know i can choose "never for this site" in the settings but with just about every site you go to now requires you to sign in it is really getting on my nerves. if this can't be resolved i may reluctantly have to change browser.

Even though I select delete all history each time I use Firefox, I notice that my history shows back up again after a few days. It even shows a week or more of previous history sometimes. There is another user for my computer. Are they requesting that my history be pulled up again and again, just to prove that they know which sites I am visiting? What is going on? I simply do not want my history made available to anyone but me. I do not want any history kept at all.
