I would like to use HTTPS to access my router's web interface without having to bypass the "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" page.

Following my router's instructions I exported the certificate. I then accessed the Privacy & Security settings in Preferences, and under View Certificates I imported the router's certificate.

When opening the HTTPS web interface Firefox reports SEC_ERROR_INADEQUATE_KEY_USAGE.

I can't use this anymore, I have to use chrome to be able to do anything at all on t-mobile, sephora, intuit, etc., I can log in but that's it. I can't do any captchas because firefox blocks them, I can't apply for credit or fill out forms or log back in efter changing my email address or password, firefox either throws up a blank page or an incomplete page and nothing will work on it no matter how many times I reload or even reboot and I wind up having to use chrome to do anything. This is ridiculous, how do I get firefox to allow captchas and other verification tools without having to resort to using another browser just to get anything done? I have disabled all the security features I can find, and if you tell me i need to refresh firefox, forget it, I will just uninstall it and use chrome.

Hi. I recently migrated to Firefox from Chrome and am getting acclimated. I did look through the various forums to find out how to activate credit card storage in FF 81 since it was not showing as an option on my initial download. I did successfully do that and entered a couple of cards. I was also successful in using the autoload feature on several occasions, but now all I get is a greyed out box showing both cards, and after attempting selection of one, no auto-population.

I am using the extra layer of log in with Windows password, and have made sure to enter that, but still no luck.

Any help out there? Thanks in advance.

How would a browser treat a URL with reserve characters, specifically the forward slash?

sample link: https://amazon .com/prime_day_deals/xyz .info

Please note, I added a space before the dot.

Would this link work, in sending the traffic to xyz .info as opposed to the legit amazon.com?

Visiting this site:

https://www.kulturkritiskforum.dk/

Firefox tells me that the certificate in invalid.

"...Web sites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for www.kulturkritiskforum.dk. The certificate is only valid for kulturkritiskforum.dk.

Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN..."

Looking at certificate tells me it is valid, and so does:

https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=https://www.kulturkritiskforum.dk/

"...www.kulturkritiskforum.dk resolves to 18.197.157.167

Server Type: Apache

The certificate should be trusted by all major web browsers (all the correct intermediate certificates are installed)...."

And Chrome does not report any errors either.

Where is the actual problem/error?!

Right now, I'm logged in my Firefox account and have everything backed up (logins and passwords, bookmarks, history, etc). Thing is, I do not remember my Firefox account password, but thankfully I am logged in and synced through 3 devices. I think, there may be a situation when some time in the future, I will be logged out one way or another.

Is there a way to see my Firefox account password, since changing password results in everything being deleted? I want to not get involved in such a hassle of exporting and importing data, if I can help it.

Thanks in advance.

I have been using Firefox on a new computer since May 2018. I always had the setting for saving my browsing history turned on. Unfortunately, I have recently discovered that I can only view the history of the last 6 months (February 15 to today). Does this mean Firefox deleted the history from May 2018 to January 2020 unbeknown to me? Is it a matter of setting the places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages parameter in about:config to a certain level? I was able to set this parameter to a higher level now, but it did not help to recover the history. Is there any other way?

The quick version of my question: Why does my Yahoo email readily open on most devices without prompting for the Primary Password? I'm not particularly tech savvy but I've looked and I haven't created any exceptions that would allow opening my email to be bypassed from the PP. Longer version: I use MF as my preferred browser and I have many websites bookmarked to which my passwords are autofilled. I work from home but I am my replacement at her office location. I was alarmed to find that when I brought up an MF browser on desktops at the office location, there were my bookmarks along with the ability for anyone to effortlessly login to a given website since the passwords were saved. to remedy, I tuned off Sync, but that didn't seem to solve the problem as my bookmarks were still exactly and easily accessible. Then I created a Primary Password on the two desktops at the remote office location, as well as several devices in my home. The puzzle is that Yahoo opens with no problem when I select that bookmark. I don't get prompted for the PP until I open another browser page. Also of concern: when I select a password protected bookmark, I can manually enter my login and see my sensitive account information if I just keep clicking on Cancel when the PP prompt appears. Is that because knowing the password "overwrites" the security of the PP?

At a basic level, I understand that trusting a cert like this* involves trusting one's antivirus vendor, in this case Kaspersky.

I'm hoping to offer some basic info and receive/collect some more advanced info and/or pointers thereto. More advanced info to help guide users deciding whether to enable this or not.

To what extent does trusting this cert place more trust than installing Kaspersky in the first place does? My understanding: When it's installed and in use, web traffic still goes directly between my machine and the normal web server at its normal IP over HTTPS. But it goes thru part of the Kaspersky software on my machine, where it is unencrypted. It's decrypted and re-encrypted between Firefox and my computer's network interface, and there's relatively little preventing that software from doing nefarious things. I wonder what difference using an OS configured-by-default or managed to only allow applications to run with limited permissions makes. My first guess is that the core Kaspersky software installs with root access/ties into the kernel anyway, although if it was exfiltrating data, someone using an external tool like Pi-Hole would probably see something fishy, and be yelling about it and the media would cover it. So trusting this cert has a fairly small marginal downside. And of course it enables some security functionality, so there's an upside. But exfiltration could be set to trigger only in very limited circumstances...

I'm also wondering if Firefox should display a different UI for Antivirus company certs. I also suspect it makes sense to ship Firefox with these certificates by default, BUT untrusted, instead of not at all. (The same may go for Let's Encrypt certs too!?)

I note: jscher2000's advice (copied from [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1295569] here) is spot on:

Kaspersky software includes a feature to intercept and filter all of your web browsing. As a "man in the middle" the software needs to generate fake site certificates but Firefox is not fooled.

If you want to keep this feature enabled, you can set Firefox up to trust Kaspersky's fake certificates. There are two methods described in this article: https://support.kaspersky.com/14620

If you do not want the software filtering your browsing, you could try this: https://support.mozilla.org/ru/kb/kak-ustranit-oshibku-s-kodom-sec_error_unknown_iss#w_kaspersky

Any advanced / user advanced info and/or pointers? resources?

Hola,

¿Alguna idea?. Ya no sé que hacer.

PD: Uso Windows 10 y firefox (versión 81.0.1) de 64bits
