I have 2FA set up for a site with my yubikey. Comparing the workflow on Chrome and Firefox,

chrome: enter username/password -> press button to launch 2FA -> dialog pops up, press button on yubikey -> done.

firefox: enter username/password -> press button to launch 2FA -> dialog pops up asking me to use my mobile device, click "use a USB key instead" -> click ok -> new dialog pops up, press button on yubikey -> done.

Is there a way to turn the extra steps in firefox off? I do not want to use a mobile device passkey, I'm perfectly fine with my yubikey. Something in about:config maybe?

My Spanish class has an embedded site access for speaking lessons that works with my microphone. However, every time I have to vocally respond, I get a popup asking if I want this site to allow this other site access to my microphone before it will record. (image included)

Both the main site and the home of the embedded site are listed on my privacy authorization page, but it does not have a button allowing me to add any other exceptions. (image included)

Please let me know what I need to do to shut off the stupid pop up that is interfering with my coursework.

Thank you. Amy Tarvin

I use to be able to click a link in an email and it would open the link. Now it has a popup that says you are keeping me safe and I have to say it is not spam and it will open. I want it to open automatically when I click on the link instead of having to open it in a new tab.

How do you remove a GMAIL account from the list?

I let someone check there email and now every time I go to GMAIL it is the default. I have seen all the resolutions for this problem and they don't work! Usually they point to a settings or option that does not exist.

I am using Windows 11 with Firefox version 121.0.1 (64 bit)

This is pretty stupid that it is this difficult to remove someone else's account from your system

There are some websites that modifying the history and when I wish to go back, I am being taken back directly to home page, or worse in some others, being looped back into the current url again.

In the second one, I know the website adding a duplicate url to the history so if I right click and select the 3rd one I can get out of the loop but it's just rather quite annoying.

Is it possible to prevent these websites meddling with my browsing history? (without disabling the javascript)

Thank you very much in advance.

I am trying to add a new email address to my account so I can change the original one because it has been compromised. When i put in the new email I'm told there's "account already exists" I have no awareness of this account and can't find any reference to it in my paperwork. The new email address I want to change to is safe and secure. If in the past I did get a firefox account using the disputed email, How do I go about finding it? I'm using version 121.0.1

Hi! Sorry if this is addressed somewhere & I just glossed over it by accident, but here's the problem:

I use a Password Manager called Byepass on several devices, but recently decided to remove it from my laptop as it was slowing my browser down considerably -- the problem is, once it was removed, Firefox just kinda... refused to remember any of my passwords? Even though it's synced to my account + imported them again from another browser? It says I don't have any logins saved, but on my mobile devices (all attached to the same account) I can clearly see them being there? Do I need to uninstall & then reinstall Firefox? I'd rather not, but I will if I have to.

Thank you!

Hello

I kind of have two small issues.

The first one is that I do not remain signed in to Google, Reddit, pretty much anything, even though I have set it in the settings to not delete browser data when closing.

The second issue is that Search suggestions still show suggestions from my search history, even though I have disabled that in the settings.

For some reason the requirement to use something called Firefox eMail relay whenever i am on a webpage that has a blank to fill in my email address became mandated on my FireFox about two or three weeks ago; something that i never requested nor specifically authorized.

I have read multiple articles this morning and still do not want it. The "option", however, is grayed out in Settings|Logins and Passwords. I noted one article that said to turn off the password manager - i use Kee - but deactivating that did not activate the option to get rid of this very annoying "option".

Would someone please guide me on turning it off?

Also, Dear Firefox - what idiot thinks it is a good idea to turn these on automatically? If there is something like this that some users will not want, perhaps on first run it should be OFFERED AS AN OPTION.

Thank you, -Bruce

Hi,

ONLY FireFox blocks using the ENTER key to launch a SEARCH on my website - (which is strangely allowed by FF IF I manually disable pop-up blocking)!

So, then how do I detect FireFox Pop-Up blocker in code on my website pages that include searches (just for FF visitors) and notify those visitors using FF that they need to disable the FireFox pop-up blocker to enable Search to function with the ENTER KEY and not only the magnifying Glass Icon (without using a pop-up notification - which will obviously be blocked by the FF pop-up blocker), please?

Sounds like mission impossible - for a "pop-up block" of what actually is NOT a pop-up (while every other browser happily allows search with an ENTER key)?

Or can FF possibly just FIX the pop-up blocking code to allow Search with an ENTER key (like all the other browsers do), PLEASE?

So I found this wonderful archived thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1260799 that helped me add microsoft 365's website to a blocklist json, which is great, since microsoft apparently decided it was going to start opening the site after I uninstalled microsoft 365 (go figure). So from here, I am wondering if there is a way to automate closing the tab after the site is blocked? Am I approaching this from the wrong angle maybe? Any advice appreciated! I just really don't like microsoft thinking it can open tabs on it's own to advertise a thing I clearly don't want.

PS if I am posting in the wrong topic, I apologize.

In my settings I DO have it set to save passwords. At first when I'd enter a new one, firefox asked 'save password?" and I'd click yes and carry on.

Now it no longer asks to save a new password even though I've checked to box to ask me.

It DOES ask if I update a saved password if I'd like to update that one. But will NOT ask me to save a new one.

I have to manually enter any new passwords.
