Every time I add, edit, move, or delete a bookmark, Firefox slows to a crawl for a few seconds while Sync does its thing. I know Sync is the issue because I've added the Sync icon to the toolbar and see it light up and spin and Firefox is unusable each time I make a bookmark change. This is most likely because I have a ridiculous number of bookmarks: probably in the 10 - 20,000 range.

Despite these issues, Sync does a good job syncing bookmarks among my computers and makes it easier for me to complete my work so I'd like to keep using it. My bookmarks file acts like a mini-search engine for things I've found useful/interesting; deleting bookmarks or using a very stripped down bookmarks file doesn't really solve my issue here.

I've already Googled this to exhaustion and set services.sync.autoconnect to false in about:config, but that didn't seem to do anything. This solution could work but is very inconvenient: http://superuser.com/a/818726/362951

Is there any way that I can disable Sync from automatically syncing after each bookmark change? I'd love to be able to sync ONLY when I click the "Sync" button on my FF toolbar.

I'm running the latest version of Firefox (37.01.1) on my Mac and have made sure that both my Flash Plugin and Adobe Flash are up to date, yet whenever I try to access YouTube my browser freezes and I get a Pinwheel. I then have to force quit the Firefox. I can browse fine but the moment I try to access YouTube it will freeze. Other video websites also cause this error but I can play some embedded videos on facebook just fine.

This problem has only just started happening today.

On my Mac, I click on Firefox and then About Firefox and find that I am running Firefox 31.0. There is no indication whether this is last version or not. Previously, I got some indication that I was not running the current version. And I got a pop up box which showed that the computer was trying to connect to the Firefox facility - I can 't remember the exact name - which would have - I believe - started the update process. This pop up box ran for sometime and didn't seem to complete before it disappeared unretrievably from the screen after I took some extraneous computer action. So... now I am wondering: Do I have the latest Firefox installation or not?

Hi, Because I can't view all of the content of the Preferences windows, it is not possible anymore to adjust Firefox to all my personal preferences. The windows just stay too short, thereby much of the content is covered. I have no idea when the issue started. Disabling all add-ons and restarting Firefox didn't make any difference. Any suggestions?

All day, Firefox has been crashing when I try to load my university email account (email.emory.edu). The page shows up for a second, then the browser immediately crashes. I've updated my plugins and software, refreshed Firefox, and tried in safe mode, and it crashes every time. My email loads in Safari and all other sites work fine in Firefox. My two most recent crash reports are: bp-f89a61c3-de69-4c05-8ea6-c2a852150428 and bp-47c86f66-86d4-42af-900d-7c5782150428

Thanks so much for any advice!

Hi supporter,

I look often about the Version actuality of my firefox on my mac My security newsletter says me that there is a new version and so I have tried to begin the update trough the "About Firefox" window and get the new Update. There is a little bug (?) because the About Infos shows that this (37.0.2) is the last Version and on the www.mozilla.org/firefox site I see that I must download the latest (38) one. I will do the update so, but I think it's better that this must be known.

ciao

I'm using OS X 10.9.5 and Firefox 38.0.1. I think this problem first appeared with Firefox 37, though I'm not completely sure.

I tried using the recovery key but it wouldn't allow me to continue. I tried logging in again and then it said that my email didn't have an account. I created a new account with the same email I used before and now none of my info (bookmarks / prefs / plugins) are there! Please help me recover my previous info!

I frequently save Adobe Illustrator files that a different company posts onto a website for my work. Normally, I right click, choose "save as" to desktop, and open them with Illustrator. As of the past hour, the AI files I save are showing coding texts when I open them instead of the images saved by the original person who made it. Is this problem caused by something I did or the person who saved their file? Can I fix this on my end?

On the next screen I'm asked for my password. When I enter my password, the screen refreshes but presents the same screen again, with blank fields. This isn't happening if I use Safari. Everything looks/acts right in Safari. I hardly ever use Safari, please don't make me start!
