Firefox is set to restore previous session on startup. I quit Firefox, turned off my computer, turned it back on again, and opened Firefox. It did not restore the previous session, and it had logged me out. I logged back in again, but it still did not restore.

All the help articles, like this one (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-restore-my-tabs-last-time) say to go to the menu and select "Restore Previous Session". However this is not available for me - see attached screenshot.

FF updated and now I'm getting this very odd message-

"The iOS 10 private browser for Safari does not support storing settings locally. Some settings may not save or some features may not work properly for you. Updating to iOS 11 to solve this issue."

This shows on some sites when I try to log in but will work in a private window. Mac OS X Catalina 10.15.2 Firefox 72.0.1

To be clear...this error appears in firefox, NOT Safari despite the text content of the message

I often use the "Option+Left/Right Arrow" keyboard shortcut to navigate through text.

In Chrome and other programs, this works how I would expect it: using this site, the first press of the right arrow will move the cursors after "https" and before the ":" character. A second will move it to the end of "support" before the "." character.

However, Firefox will jump to between the "//" characters" and "support" on the first press, and will jump over the period after "support," before the word "mozilla."

This applies to the address bar, but also anywhere text is present, such as a form text area.

Strangely, moving the other direction does not skip past punctuation.

The behavior exhibited does not match that of the native operating system (moving to the end of a word, excluding punctuation) so I find it somewhat jarring. Is this something that could potentially be changed by a config and/or fixed at the application level?

Thanks.

Hi, I really love everything about Firefox Developer Edition, except the JSON viewer. I'm used to looking at plain formatted JSON like the JSON Formatter plugin provide. But, even thought I have installed JSON Formatter (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/json-formatter/?src=recommended), it only shows this tree/table-ish viewer that comes with Firefox Developer Edition. Is there any way to disable this feature and use a plugin for this, just as in Firefox ?

I just signed up for Firefox Monitor. Most of the accounts it says were breached are ones I recognize, and I have changed my passwords. However, it also says there were data breaches affecting two sites I do not have an account with at all (Whitepages and Verifications.io). What do I do about those, since I haven't got an account (I don't even know what Verifications.io is), so I don't have a password to change.

I am comparing different browser-based password manager implementations.

I noticed that Firefox prompts to remember credentials when a form is submitted, but some other browsers, e.g., Google Chrome, wait until the server responds with a success status before prompting (and, if the server responds with an error status, then the browser does not prompt to remember the credentials).

I assume there are pros/cons to these different approaches, and I would like to better understand the trade-offs.

Right now, all I see is that it is possible—even likely—for a user to tell Firefox to remember an incorrect/invalid password—which seems like a downside to Firefox's approach.

Hi all, I am experiencing an issue where some site (such as google and asana) think I am on my phone. Other sites do not do this, but several that i use regularly do. I tried troubleshooting, and i noticed that when i use a private browser, google and asana look good on desktop, so that is why i think this is a firefox issue. Ive tried searching google and the knowledge base but all the searches think I WANT to view the mobile view on desktop (to check responsive design most likely), but I actually want to STOP seeing the mobile view on desktop.

NOTE - this seemed to happen right after I selected an ad to be hidden using the AdBlock extension on an article i was reading. i dont know if this is relevant or not, but i deleted the app anyway. This did not fix the issue though.

Anyone seen this issue before?

I had to reinstall Firefox browser. After reinstalling, I have noticed that the Tracking Protection shield was always grey. For every site I go to, the Tracker Protection summary (dropdown after clicking the shield) always says "No trackers known to Firefox were detected on this page". This is for sites that previously I know Firefox was blocking trackers.

I'm wondering if perhaps during the reinstall I've lost the file of known trackers somehow? Already tried reinstalling and restarting.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm up to date, using 72.0.2, but the problems described with the article I mentioned are still happening to me. (Tried the workaround fix but it was already set the way I was told to set it, and anyway I'm not on Firefox 70.) Namely and with a specific example, Facebook's top bar loads but I don't get my feed, can't look at my notifications, etc etc. But several other sites have other functionality screwey. I was just ignoring it for a while, because like Facebook is not vital to my life, but now my college's Moodle site isn't working and I can't submit my assignments properly, so I'm going to have to switch browsers if I can't figure out what's wrong. Anybody else still having problems? Anybody have a solution? Thanks guys.

From my public IP of 104.158.49.18 FF ses the web site https://www.publicmobile.ca/ as a potential security risk. FF is reporting this incorrectly as other web browsers show this site as valid. I have included the certificate values.

what is the reason for the error meesage? Someone could be trying to impersonate the site and you should not continue.

Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust www.publicmobile.ca because its certificate issuer is unknown, the certificate is self-signed, or the server is not sending the correct intermediate certificates.
