deets: v87 via flatpak on debian(buster)

No matter where I save a file the lastdir is always "/run/user/1000/doc/*some random folder name, that changes each time*".

manually changing browser.download.lastDir causes the next attempt to save to go to the desired folder, but a second attempt reverts to /run/user/1000/doc/abcd123.

Has anyone any idea whats going on?

Using Firefox 87.02 on arch linux 64 bit. As mentioned in the subject. Firefox is set to clear history when it closes but it doesn't. Neither am a able to clear the history manually from the preferences menu or otherwise. Do you know any sollution?

Where are the site proprietary ? ;-) Firefox 87.0 (64 bits) in Debian Sid

Starting today, on Firefox 87.0 for Linux, any link that I had visited in the past is showing up as visited in the current session. I am in the process of updating thousands of listings on Ebay and the link color helps me keep track of where I am in the list each day, especially since I have had to start back from the beginning of the list 3 times. I do not want to clear my history as I keep going back to it to reference old pages. Is there a setting to clear the links visited color without clearing the history? Or is this a bug?

I have the Firefox in both my PC and laptop. Both my PC and laptop have dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 with the latest updates. Firefox is in version 87 also fully updated in both OS in both machines. When I try to download anything whatever the size of the file is I see the little that shows downloading has started and then it vanishes and shows that the download has failed. I've already tried cleaning the cache, the history and the downloads history but nothing worked in any of my systems. Can anyone please help?

Everytime when I try to type into the input field the "View saved logins" element covers the input. Can I disable this element or is there a way to move it under the field not covering the input that I'm typing into ?

When using screen sharing, FF (up to the latest release 88) offers to share each of the open applications or the full screen. What's missing is to share just one of 3 monitors, if that's what one is using. Chrome has that option, but FF doesn't. Is that on the roadmap to be added? Or is there a plugin or hidden setting that would allow me to do that already?

Hi i would like to know how i can change the font size of my Firefox Menu.

i already change the size of the layout whit "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx" but it didn´t change the font size of the tabs or the menu. i did some research and found the userCrome.css technique to change some fonts sizes. i already change the font size of the address bar, PopMenu and tabs. But when it comes to the Main Menu, and bookmarks the font still in the same size. i also try changing the fonts size on preferences but nothing has been working.

i guess there must be a simple command line to add in the userCrome.css file to fix this but i can find it.

if some of you can help me i will appreciate very much.

I'm having trouble sharing my screen with Firefox 87 on Ubuntu 20.04.2.

What happens when I go to share, the "Will you allow <site> to share your screen" window pops up. "Select a Window or Screen" is autofilled, but I cannot hit 'allow' (it is greyed out). When I click the dropdown, the "Select a Window or Screen" option is greyed out, and my only other option is "Use Operating System Settings". When I select this I can hit "allow", but no other options pop up and my screen is not shared, although firefox seems to think so (shows the orange symbol at top, site privacy settings show sharing allowed).

debian Linux 64bit,firefox 87 is fine. It's a problem with 88.0. try: firefox https://bing.com I can see the title changed,but blank webpage.

try: rm -fr ~/.mozilla run firefox 88.0 , same thing happens.

I would like for Firefox to be able to: Warn me when closing multiple tabs without restoring my previous session.

I have researched online and tinkered with the browser's settings and I could only manage to make Firefox warn me when closing multiple tabs when I also had the option to Restore previous session enabled. I hope that something can be worked out in about:config.

I have been a fan of the awesomebar for quite some time; tab selection using % enables progress after chaotic web surfing and bookmark searching using * circumvents the need of retracing already known websites. (I have removed suggestions and history though, I find that those are mostly in the way.)

One limitation for me as a programmer is that while searching for Python helps me find the correct bookmarks, including C in a search is not helpful, as a c anywhere in a bookmark will give a hit. This even goes for '.com'! The same problem occurs when searching for bookmarks in the bookmark library.

My suggested improvement would be to allow search terms to be interpreted narrowly. This could be done by adding quotes, for example "C" (single quotes could also work).

Is this already possible in some way? And if not, where would be the best place to suggest the improvement? [feedback page reads "Please check back soon"] ( and I'm not sure whether this suits the Bugzilla platform.

I am an old fart (76) and had firefox reasonably set up and nor this tired old brain must remember how it was and how to jump through the hoops that the juveniles thought as better... Give me a break !! the complaint I had which I found a workaround was to DELETE up to 1G of cookies so I had a little usable ram and space on my HDD... Some of the cookies were HUGE... My OS has been Linux mint or other flavours of Linux since about 1990 and used to boot in less than 20 seconds, then it would load the previous days applications where I left off in another 10 seconds... Now, judging by the sixes of the files downloaded to refresh Firefox you are writing BLOATWARE WTF... Why do you think I would not touch Intel & windoze? DAZE of compulsory Amerikan speling & corporate spying are numbered if this keeps deteriorating... 20,000 cookies a day? and how big is the file to install firefox... That is what I call BLOATWARE...

I watch informative YT but when it gets boringly repetitive I just scan what is force fed in the vain hope I will spot something of interest... 90% is crap, or dumb'ed down BS to find a few paste jewels...

My brain is somewhat addled with Dementia, and afflicted with aspects of Asperger's Syndrome, Bi polar disorder... Give me a break Please...

I just installed Firefox (88.0) on a brand new Surface Pro, signed in to my Firefox Account, which gets me my stuff synced over, such as the Grammarly, LastPass and Pushbullet extensions. I log into those respective applications as needed. I start browsing.

Now, when I open either of those extensions from the menu bar, they open their little in-place window. If I now touch anything in these windows, about 80% of the time the following happens:

• The little in-place window closes
• Firefox becomes unresponsive (menus, other controls, web pages, close window)
• This lasts for 60 seconds (reliably)

However:

• If the extension is visible on the menu bar: problem happens
• If the extension is tucked away in ">>" (More tools...): no problem (this is also a decent-ish workaround)

Given that this affects multiple extensions, I'd expect this to be a Firefox issue. Also, I have no idea how to troubleshoot this (I have not been able to find logs).

Things I tried to no avail:

• Refresh (through installer)
• Cleaned out profile manually
• Tried extensions before logging them in
