My old computer crashed. I lost all my passwords. However, I had signed up for a firefox account and told it to save all my pasword and bookmarks.

Now I'm on another computer, I can log into firefox but I can see no place whatsoever to sync the online data I saved from the old computer to this one.

How is this done? None of the articles online even remotely match what I am seeing.

Yesterday we were forced to reinstall Ubuntu Linux. Was using 16.04 which had many problems. installed 20.04.1 in the same partition. It upgraded Firefox from version 80 to 81. Changed nothing else.

We had previously saved the passwords as a .csv file on an external drive. Each row had only three items: the URL, login name, and password. We have TWO different .csv files saved months apart.

After enabling "Import from a file" in Lockwise, we try to load either known-good .csv file. There is no error message and no other information--the browser window blinks and the login/password column remains totally empty. Also tried the .json file--same result.

What is going on here?

I have been trying to print the webpage as PDF. I am trying to change the page height and width, but this code is not working. When I manually enter the value of print.print_paper_width and save in about:config it works. Can someone tell me whats wrong. This is what I am trying:

from selenium.webdriver.firefox.options import Options as FirefoxOptions from selenium import webdriver options = FirefoxOptions() options.add_argument("--headless") FFprofile = webdriver.FirefoxProfile() FFprofile.set_preference('print.always_print_silent', True) FFprofile.set_preference('print.print_to_file', True)

FFprofile.set_preference('print.print_paper_width', '3.7')

FFprofile.set_preference('print.print_to_filename', 'filepath')

driver = webdriver.Firefox(FFprofile,options=options) driver.get('filepath') driver.execute_script("window.print()")

I have an account on the following website: http://forums.wheresgeorge.com/forum.php

I rarely can get it to function normally on my laptop when using firefox. Usually a white page comes up with a list of threads, rather than the usual forum interface, and then if I try to navigate further, I get a 404 error message. I saw a suggestion somewhere to look at the web console information but I don't know enough about the types of information presented there to interpret it. If anyone can assist, I would be delighted. I copy/pasted the stuff I saw when I pulled up the web console.

Is there a pocket-free build of firefox available for download? Before you say, you can just disable it, I already have. In addition to that I've blocked the update/api url as well. I want it removed completely, I strong feel mozilla should make it opt-in or provide a pocket free build.

I was thinking perhaps there is a regulatory constraint on of the builds here that I could install, then change back to english?

Any help would be appreciated.

When I download almost any type of file, Firefox nicely asks whether I would like to always save the file, or always open it with some program. But for .jpg files, it makes a blanket, hard-coded assumption that I do not want to preserve my choice. I cannot add .jpg to the list of actions in the preferences. The authors of the browser forcibly mandate that a .jpg download must go to a popup, and the user's preferred action cannot be maintained internally.

This is a mistake. I realize someone thought it was a very rational idea. it is not. This is a bug.

How can I work around this mistake in the Firefox design?

I am building a new website on an Ubuntu 20.04 server with a LEMP stack. To test the web server (nginx) I set up a simple test site named nginxtest.com. Nginx server block tests are successful and there are no errors in any logs, so it appears that it is working properly. However, when I attempt to show the site by putting the site name into Firefox, all I get is a notice from Verizon that it has no knowledge of the website (which it shouldn't as it's not a registered name).

I want FIrefox to search localhost for my test site, but the only way I can make it work is to change the network-dns-native-is-localhost setting to true (default is false) in the about:config settings. When I change that setting, my test site pops right up, but then I can't reach any site on the internet.

How can I force Firefox to direct web searches to localhost before going out to the internet?

This happens to me and many other people all the time. It always happens with .swf files since I can remember, for security reasons. But it also very often started happening with .pdf files and other file types. Now it happens with .txt files and it's the straw that breaks the camel's back. Inconsistently so as well since when I open it from the website it prompts to download and not when I open the file locally.

This is such a problem that this add-on had to be made https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/open-in-browser/?utm_content=addons-manager-reviews-link&utm_medium=firefox-browser&utm_source=firefox-browser And as you can see it is rather popular. Shouldn't Firefox solve this bug (no it's not a feature or quirk) once and for all?

How can I do the same without an add-on?

Hi,

I have reinstalled my Debian, keeping of course my `/home`. New Firefox version is `68.12.0esr`. A new profile has been created, but I need the old one which I can set as default in the profile manager at the url `about:profiles`, but Firefox tells me "Using an older version of Firefox can corrupt bookmarks and browsing history.....". So, it seems I need to install the same version of Firefox I had before, but I don't know which one it was, and I would like to avoid to make many trials.

Is there a mean to know which Firefox version is associated to a given profile?

I am positive about Firefox is the most secure browser and have evidence of it. Nevertheless the following site could traspass the Firefox barriers: https://www.eldestapeweb.com/ I am concerned on the survival of Free World and consecuently of Free Software. I guess the above mentioned site belongs to a parapolitical official organization. I consider that for it's job obtained tech help from some powerful international group. The average user of Firefox is unprevented of this issue. I am not asking for help in my behalf, because I have the necesary time to help myself. I suggest the Mozilla guys to investigate the facts. Firefox Automatically Redirecting from HTTP to HTTPS [Resolved]

I just hit a bug in Firefox that was a real time eater for me.

Firefox was automatically redirecting to https for a website even when I typed in the full url http://192.168.138.210:80. It would always redirect even if there was no server listening at port 80! Even, if I added query parameters like ?q=123456, it still did it.

I had set up the web server to listen on port 80 at 192.168.138.210 and I could never get firefox to load the http page. I created a simple node http server and the same issue occurred. I finally realized that it was the browser was doing the https redirect. I disabled all extensions and it still occurred. I tried `Private Window` and the issue went away. Chrome was fine. I also tested `wget` and it was fine.

Once I realized the Firefox profile was the issue, I then cleared the cache in the browser and presto, problem went away.

I cannot repeat this error in Firefox so a Bug report is probably not warranted. In hindsight, I should have made a copy of the profile :(

Hope this information helps someone else avoid the pain of this and also a simple warning to those testing new web servers, don't assume any complex web browser is doing the right thing, use simple tools like wget or netcat to see whats going on at the lowest possible level before passing blame.

Here are a couple of goto *nix tests I have used:

Netcat trick to send a request to http://192.168.138.210:80/ % printf "GET / HTTP/1.0\r\n\r\n" | nc 192.168.138.210 80

Handy wget script that gives all the necessities of more complex calls like https for troubleshooting certificate resolution etc.: % curl -v -I --insecure https://google.com 2>&1 | egrep -v '^> |^< |^{|^}|^* T|^* AL|^ 0'

I get an error message now when I try to log in to my bank. I have 2 pc's, one Linux, the other Microsoft and Firefox on both. I get an error message when I try to log in-PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR. How do I fix this or is it the bank's security certificate not keeping up? If I use the Edge browser, I can log in, just not on Firefox. I have no problem with any other website.
